    I've always felt the reviews of the low to mid spec versions of any vehicle are the best ones to watch. The inherent goodness (or lack thereof) is apparent when you have the base engine, the base seats, the base suspension, etc. If all of that is good and you come away feeling like "wow, awesome ride!" then that means a lot more to me. Porsche is like that---base Macan is a joy to drive. BMW, maybe Alfa....not Audi though; for Audi you CANNOT ever bother with the FWD stuff with the base 2.0 engine. If this RR Sport is this good at the base level, then JLR has hit one out of the park.

    • @johntechwriter
      @johntechwriter ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Mazda’s base-model Miata is the Sport, and nobody even knows it exists. That is just how the dealers want it, because they can then gouge their customers thousands extra for the Club, which comes with a few brand-name add-ons.

    I own the P360 and have to disagree with the aspects related to it being "cheap" or the least desirable option. This one is easily the most bang for the buck AND give you EVERYTHING that's available in the next trim up at $7000 LESS ONLY ~40 horses and ~40lbft torque. If you think a 0.3 second reduction in time in an ultra smooth cruising SUV is worth it then hey, more power to you. Regarding the +30k engine option of the First Edition with the BMW engine, that's when you can about guarantee faults to come with that powertrain. Ultimately, I have a vehicle on the road that next to impossible to get as a result of the current market and it looks BEYOND amazing. The white interior as opposed to black seen here also adds to the opulence and esteem. The only other note I have as a point of correction is that the piano black is THE EXACT SAME through every trim of the vehicle.

    Lifelong Land Rover fan here and I dunno, the latest generation of LR products leave me pretty cold across the board. I find the new Range Rover (proper one) to be downright ugly somehow - despite it being theoretically beautiful and pretty inoffensive, it just looks off. And the Sport has always felt like a skim-milk version of the real RR, and these things just are too darn expensive to have any whiff of "the cheap one" - and I'm not even talking about the spec of the test car in this video. Any Sport, regardless of spec, feel like they just aren't the real deal - except maybe the SVR since that one has its own unique reason for being (and the real RR doesn't have an equivalent).

Just got this exact 2024 in this gorgeous color and have to say the interior and ride quality are miles above the 16 (which i thought was amazing at the time). Also I think they knocked it out of the park with the redesign. Gorgeous.

    Anyway, BMW is playing it safe on design. Unlike their polarizing name automobile division, the styling here is a basic box with rounded edges. No much to look at, but not much to go wrong either. One thing's for sure, it won't be turning any heads with a wow factor.

    I simply call the Range Rover, "The Pimp Wagon".
    It is not an SUV. It's not even a 4WD. You can't even take this car off the road - EVER: you will wreck the wheels in less than 40 seconds. And do $10K worth of paint damage in 2 minutes. It's just a big, fat wagon where people with little imagination, and a bad case of Affluenza go to feel good about themselves.
    What is Affluenza? The uncontrollable desire to spend money you do not have, on things you do not need, in order to impress people you do not like.

    I recently picked up a new Defender on air suspension. The adaptive shocks had an issue like they were stuck on full hard. The dealer wanted 6 weeks before they could look at it, a brand new car! No loan cars available. Basically they weren't helpful at all in trying to sort it out. I sold it after only a few weeks. I've heard parts are a VERY long wait and in some cases Land Rover are telling customers they have NO ETA on some parts. Have accident? You might be off the road for 6 months+. Lovely cars but I'd avoid them big time if you want to DRIVE a Land Rover as your daily.

    I always Felt like Range Rover Engineering Is Trying To make the best Riding SUV , be it on road or off. I feel like they achieved that goal, and continue to do so, They have downsides like any brand, but I think their goal as a Brand is Right to where a Brand should aim to be. Too Expensive, But Every Vehicle is, so if that is put to the side, I think the Range Is the Best SUV unless your trying to track it for some reason, then you just go Porsche. I Think Range Rover as a brand would benefit alot from dropping the different 18 versions of each model, and Offering Just 1/2 Trims , No one wants piano black shit, save money , stop offering it.
