  • Decided to purchase a new vehicle for the channel. We found the lowest mileage Toyota Yaris in Michigan. And yes that’s a joke. 400,000 miles and still running. Hope to have a bunch of fun with it and keep improving it. We have a few road-trip/adventures we want to take it on. Stay tuned.

    You are inspiring me about my own Yaris! Wife has a 2008 and I have a 2009. We are about 105,000 miles so for on our cars. We should keep them for a while.

      @@hughbertsprojects Yes sir! One of the greatest things about me and wife's Yaris' is that parallel parking is almost certain never issue!! Come to downtown Clemson, SC to see the parking situations on the weekends! Thank you again.

    Loved the video - I have a 2012 Yaris that looks just like this with only 130k - you've inspired me to drive it to 400k!

      @@hughbertsprojectsmy Yaris has 207k it’s burning a little bit of oil though. I use 5w30 should I use 10w30?

      Usually if I have a car burning oil I run some of the engine restore oil additive in my next oil change. I also do not run synthetic oil because it burns faster than conventional.

      @@hughbertsprojects I wanted to add, I drive fast with the Yaris. My average speed is 75-90 so this might be why I burn oil as well.

    The automatic transmission still holds up?? Not sure if I wanna get a manual or AT one.

      Automatic is still holding up. Car has 445,000 now and it’s finally showing signs of being tired. Slow to shift when cold but after it’s warmed up it’s good.

      @MadeUpUserNem automatic is good for a lot of city driving. But I really enjoy manual. It’s more fun in my opinion

      Automatic gearbox on these are really strong . I own a manual one but the autos are just better for durability long term

    My 09 Yaris made it to 300k before I got rid of it did have to replace clutch but that’s because I towed a huge trailer lol

    I just replaced the rear driver side wheel bearing. Expensive!

      Did you have a shop complete the repair? I was able to buy the bearing at a local auto parts shop for under $100.

      @@hughbertsprojects Yeah I had a shop repair it. I sounded like scraping and tire noise. Not all the time but it seemed to get more consistent and louder. They said it had to be the whole hub and it was on the verge of detaching due to age and rust etc. Oh well. I need a car lol

      2007 Yaris hatch 5 speed manual 173,000 miles. Just replace both rear wheel bearings at about $460 total including labor. I have non ABS brakes. If you have ABS then it will cost you $900-$1200 dollars including labor.

    I just got one same 1500cc 2d , for 2700 $ , no AC needs a Compressor, but it's 2009 with 80k miles , had to get it

    I bought a 2011 blue Yaris hatch manual for $7000 cash with only 24,000 miles. I am excited!!!

      Let me tell you this little cars are Bullet proof.. mine 2007 hatchback 5 speed manual.. has 225000 miles and still run like new . Absolutely love this little car especially for the gas mileage..

      @@alanwatts8117 yes I've only done oil changes so far on it. It's been super reliable and a huge gas saver. Sometimes I want gas prices to go up so I can feel even better. 🤣

    What engine does your Toyota Yaris have?

      The only engine available in the states was the 1.5 4 cylinder gas/petrol.

      @@hughbertsprojects Yeah not sure if I'll get that high but we'll see! I want to keep it as long as I can. I do have money set aside for another car but don't need it yet so might as well drive this. Correction I'll just be hitting 266k. I didn't have it when I originally wrote this.

      My friend bought this car from me a few months after I lifted it. They needed a car pretty bad. They are still driving it with 425k now and climbing.

      They are good little cars. They pop up every once in a while on craigslist or Facebook marketplace for a good deal. I purchase this one from a coworker. A friend of mine currently has it since they needed a vehicle. Car has around 450,000 miles now.

      @@danysaesae5364keeping up on maintenance is key. Doing transmission flushes and fluid changes on time as well as coming to complete stops before changing gears really helps the longevity in automatic transmission vehicles.
