@@anantahandley We all have a bias here. It doesn't matter that we do either. Vox is losing its respect to fake news and poorly educated articles and stories, and that isn't something worth our money.
Anantarctic Vox media is just pure clickbait. Vox youtube is half political bs and half actually good content (borders etc).
Can I support specific reporters? some are awesome but others are terrible and I don't want to support them. The guy from Borders... he is the best.
The money goes to the top, the corporate entities that own the company. The reporters get a salary
LookingToChangeTheWorld earworm is much better now, Adam Neely and others who criticized actually helped a decent bit. I’d put it towards Borders, Overrated (did they kill it after messing up one video on Marvel?), and a few others

LookingToChangeTheWorld Earworm improved a lot. They recognized some of their flaws in research, and actually collaborated with other professional musicians. Their series on Jazz is pretty great! As a guy with a major in music, I saw perhaps a couple of generalizations but nothing that can't be tolerated in the context of a very short TH-cam video.
I'm actually quite impressed with how good the latest Earworm videos have been.

I can't understand why so many people dislike this video. Videos like these on the vox channel cost a huge amount of money and the have to find new ways to fund these videos. So i really appreciate this way instead of dubious advertisements like other youtubers do.

Huh, guess you probably prefer that they become completely beholden to advertisers or their parent company. This gives us power, use it. There is little difference between this, and subbing to someone on Twitch.

@Fredrik Hemsen Yes, but usually you get a product or service in exchange for your money. Patreon was to help individual creators earn a bit of money for their work, Vox is owned by a corporation. I hardly think it deserves any donations.
People dont understand that advertising alone is not a reliable source of income. Many of you I'm sure are regular Vox viewers.... so why open fire on the company you've followed and like because they ask for money?
The work that goes into these videos is a labour of love... not business.

If Vox (The TH-cam team) split from its parent company, perhaps I’d consider.
That's not gonna happen. The Vox network is what funds alot of their projects. Plus their other stuff is great.

So exciting that you guys are doing this! I am in the beginning stages of using TH-cam as an educational outlet to teach my Street Photography and have experienced first hand the number of hours necessary to make a decent 5minute video... From ideation, production, and several drafts later :).
Needless to say, you can count me in to support your team in this journey of making epic videos. Definitely eager to see your behind the scenes content.

Curious, could you maybe include an Advice/Consulting perk..where you can advice new filmmakers such as myself?

Of all the TH-cam channel subscriptions, Vox is definitely at the top. Your guys' production value and info is top notch!!

You are part of a large media corporation that has raised approximately $286.5 Million since 2012. You have shows on CNN, Netflix and PBS. You do regular presentations on MSNBC (under Recode). Nothing about this suggests that you need to be using a feature of TH-cam designed for creators who have much more limited resources.
Guys who cares they’re just trying to make money you don’t have to do it. You’re getting great videos for free anyway

The videos this channel is producing are 90% excellent, particularly Johnny Harris and Borders! As much as I would love to support more work like *that,* I'm a little too uncomfortable with the idea of also helping support some of the more, um, inflammatory partisan content.

I used to think Vox was a reputable media source. I used it as a “third party” when comparing Fox News and CNN. Trying to distinguish fake news from real news and it’s really disheartening to have read that disgraceful article. That is exactly the kind of thing I come to vox to get away from. Heyo... I've supported. How do I get access to the best videos of youtube that was mentioned at 2:03? I've joined already....
I would happily support Vox if this channel was just videos from Johnny Harris (Borders), Estelle Caswell (Earworm), Phil Edwards (Overrated), Christophe Haubursin (By Design), and Joss Fong (Observatory). They make some of my favorite informative videos in the whole internet.
But unfortunately, these aren't the only videos this channel uploads and the rest of the content is often clickbait, unnecessary controversies, extremely biased, and sometimes misinformed. Specially the videos from people like Carlos Maza and others. While the channel keeps being this way, I'm sorry, but I won't pay for anything.
