I was never a fan of Ike Turner, but when i started to listen to his music, i really began to enjoy it. Especially when the Man would get on a piano, the Man was fire. I believe his negative portrayal in the movie," what's love got to do with it", really affected him , which he never recovered from .As we all know Hollywood will destroy anyone's image, if they can make a buck on you. So rest easy CHAMP, for you will always be number 1, on ROCKET 88

He definitely made good songs, but it won't erase the bad things he has done. On contrary it cast a shadow on his talent. Obviously, he was a drug addict and seemed to have struggled to get out this. But he knew he had a problem and he lived in the US. You have people who can help you deal with that. He should at least have tried to stop his addiction after Tina Turner started to be famous. He knew what he was doing when continuing with the drugs after Tina success in the 80s. Well I guess he continued with the drugs, because his stuttering while talking and his eyes closing in an interview about the movie and biography of Tina Turner confirm that he was still on drugs. Never mind. This was his karma and this is how he has chosen to live. It won't remove my coldness towards him for what he did to Tina Turner. Its not even about Tina Turner, it's about domestic violence for which an abusive man, Ike Turner in this case never got punished for. It's injustice. But Tina Turner was the one who succeeded very well. She left without anger or bitterness and this is what I should do too. This is something that will try to learn from her. For me it's the most difficult thing to do -> not to hold any grudge. Tina Tuner has just removed him from her life and that's it (Tina Turner : Sometimes you've got to let everything go - purge yourself. If you are unhappy with anything... whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you'll find that when you're free, your true creativity, your true self comes out ~ Tina Turner)

What he did to Tina, though she put it behind her, there were still scars left. Those things never really leave you. It took long for Tina to get married again. She seemed to fear that. Though she looked happy, l feel the scars were there & it was still tender. Ike seemed to be her first love. It should be good memories. Instead it turned into a nightmare. Still, she persisted with all the hurt she was feeling, to move on, and she did! I admire her determination. When one is abused and abandoned at a young age, that's a learned behavior. That stays with you in your subconscious mind. It grows with you causing all sorts of pain, confusion, as you grow. One ends up looking for healing outside and it later turns into a nightmare. Her parents never gave her that love she deserved. All this takes a toll on your body, and mind. It drained her out little by little. One gets to the point they don't care anymore to what happends. It's sad, but it's true. Still her legend will live on!

Who really cares about your coldness??? You are no better than he. He did drugs. You have a cold unforgiving heart. You're even.

The image you've created of Tina in your mind is completely off. The re-imageing of Tina in the 80s was a complete fabrication. Tina was taking drugs, got violent with Ike and was participating in the orgies herself. What's worse is Tina knew what Ike was like and pursued him anyway. Ike wasn't interested in Tina romantically. When Tina left Ike, she left her children as well.
Tina cried abuse when it would benefit her, she left out the part where she was just as abusive. Tina wasn't a victim, she was an opportunist. Was there violence in that relationship? Yes and it was both of them. Turn off the Hollywood movies and get a grip on reality
