It wasn't pointless. Eobard was about to kill everyone, because his plan failed. And also this created a lot of problems for Thawne, Black Flash chased Reverse Flash.

Was literally CHEERING seeing Eddie’s scenes! He plays a villain oh so well! Sure ik it’s not HIM himself, but I’m still HERE FOR IT!! Also being a fan that LOVES EDDIE but who isn’t a fan of Iris, honestly makes viewing this scene 100 times better!! 🙌🏻

Every character has people who like and dislike them. I was the one minding my own business and I was only stating how this scene was enjoyable for me. Also, I am here FOR EDDIE, not “to pile onto Iris.”
If you don’t share the same opinion over a character as me, then that’s your personal preference. But you don’t see me attacking you for feeling the way you do. There’s literally no reason to just be going around hating on people for not liking a character. I have my own reasons on why I feel the way I do about the character.
And for your information I didn’t said one word about Candice NOR was I “harassing” her in any way. Character ≠ actor/actress. I was just simply sharing my view on the scene. This is why Eddie needs to be the flash final villan and threat !! Cause he has all motivation to be the villan considering know one remembers him for his pointless sacrifice and I mean his body did fall into the portal so literally anything could be said on how he was brought back to life. And he can hate barry due to him taking the life he was supposed to have with Ires but instead was given a he death that lead to nothing not even a heroic memorable one so he has all the motivation to become the last final villan

While yes, it was true that he shot himself, but he didn’t die.
I have a theory that when he was sent to 2023. The doctors found him almost dying and saved his life. The doctors were asking what happened but Eddie couldn’t remember anything so they gave him the name “Malcom Gilmore” and Eddie as Malcom liked doing science so he was hired by Mercury Labs.

This is when I realized that Thawne was kinda responsible for deathstorms creation, here's how if you don't believe me:
Eobard was kinda responsible for Eddie and Ronnie's deaths, and Ronnie's death created Deathstorm
Edit: which then means that Thawne is kinda responsible for Frost's death as well, he didnt even have his speed anymore and he still broke them, especially Caitlin
Thawne would also be responsible for creating Cobalt Blue

Why does Iris have more emotions in this scene from the dialogue with the illusion of Eddie than in season 9 when talking to the real Eddie?
She knew it was death storm Hallucinations
To be fair, Eddie didn't die for nothing. If he didn't kill himself, Thawne would've killed Barry and everyone else except Eddie right on the spot and the timeline would've gone to nuts if that happened. His death was actually significant.
And as soon as Eobard popped back up again and again, Team Flash could have gone back in time to save Eddie knowing that Eddie being alive wouldn’t matter either way to Eobard being alive or not. But they didn’t. They let Eddie stay dead even though Eobard kept coming back. This is why Eddie died for nothing, Eobard wasn’t stopped, the others could have come back to change things but they didn’t, they let his death stand even though it didn’t have to. And anyways, Barry and the others would have been fine, they got plot armor.
Eddie could have just shot Thawne instead of himself. Even if the bullets don't kill him, he would still have distracted him long enough for Barry to recover and gain the initiative. And Thawne coming back over and over cancels out the whole thing since it didn't matter in hindsight. The only thing Eddie's suicide accomplished was ending the love triangle between him, Iris, and Barry. So yes he died for nothing

deathstorm was wasted, I'm not a person that calls everything mid, but looking at the alternative at what could've happened if the showrunner wasn't the dumbest man alive it would've been good to have eobard defeat deathstorm in this or the next episode and have him for the remaining season. Eobard is my favorite character of all time, out of not just overall dc characters, but in any franchise. Not batman, not ironman, not wolverine or any xmen, but Reverse-Flash is my favorite character and they butchered him, he had 1 maybe 2 good scenes in the final arc and even I could make a better story than this shit in under 1 minute after waking up while also being drugged before it. I could write 3 times this amount of text of how much I hate the showrunner, but I decided to delete it because most people wouldn't understand, and my focus with this comment is that they made eobard a smaller character than he actually is.
It wasn't completely pointless. If he didn't kill himself, everyone at Star Labs would die from RF in that moment
