You can get an after market Banks intake it's identical to banks and you get the coil cold start coil. Still a little salty around 900 for a intake horn but you gain a heater coil for cold starts. Keep up your videos good job !

After watching the video of you installing this in your 3rd gen, I bought one for my 08, I love the difference it made. Youre getting a bent feeler gauge to run the rack, its a must before you do studs
The only thing that concerns me with this style is the fact it doesn’t replace the death nut grid heater fail issue. Granted we can have them tuned and deleted all together but what other option besides banks can we do for direct replacement no tuning needed?
Bent feeler gauge is used for Valve adjustment Now ever think of using a torque wrench to adjust the valves? I have do this when ever I adjust valves because doing this will assure that all valves are the same.
Running the exact same intake horn. Approaching 700hp...also run the Pusher cold/hot charge pipes as well...with an s366sxe...no shortage of air flow! Good product cam. 👌
I have that exact same intake manifold on my 2018 ram 2500 and my 2010 ram 2500 and hands down I think it's one of the best intake men on the market especially for the price. I've never had any issues with either of them and to be honest it's the best bang for your buck. And if you don't like the way it looks you can always powder coat it.
Did the grid delete and the intake but can't connect one of the flow sensor and engine light comes on where do you connect that sensor and not the bottom one.

Flow per dollar!!! ..you nailed it!! The 5.9 common rail factory air horn REALLY leaves a lot to be desired. But a 5.9 owner has to buy the 6.7 fuel rail (and injector lines) plus the 6.7 grid heater delete intake plate on top of the 6.7 air intake horn in order to see gains like this. So saving the money on the air intake horn leaves some cheddar in the wallet for the fuel rail, fuel lines, and intake plate to be able to use this style intake horn. killer set up and maybe even more so for the 5.9 common rail guys like ME!!
This May help for people in cold areas Part #: NED AIH101 air heater Nappa $65.49 and a machine shop can install a female thread for you. Works well if you do the grid heater delete. Weld it where the two intake openings meet into a one.
@@farva75089 the electronic connection is just a bolt on eye so yes. You do need to have a fitting welded on to a pusher type intake horn. The heater will connect to that, bolt oem wire to heater. Let your machine shop know to keep the flat connection that bolts on to the plentun cool so it doesn't warp when welding is done.
What bolt did you use on the air horn that was buried underneath? The original was long and came down through the top. I used all the other bolts but the one is holding my #1fuel line also.
My MAP sensor was so clogged it took a whole can of MAF cleaner to get it cleaned with the use of a pick. I couldn't even see the sensor it was built up so much.
I just put this intake and grid heater delete on my 4th gen and all the bolts are tight but sounds like it blows boost out somewhere on driver side when I get up around 24lbs of boost? Any advice on what to check? Thanks
Idk how you made the middle bolt under easy. I had to hammer it with a screwdriver thru the middle of the two pipes to get it in the hole. Only thing that seemed to help was I had a 10mm crows foot to actually get it snugged down them a wrench to tighten.
Easy job bro. Personally I got 625. Torque it once and done. No go back and retorque. But they are a chunk more. 40k dollar truck or 1100 bucks to keep my headgasket in check. I would def give yourself a full 2 days. Just take your time and be patient and slow! Also do them ONE at a time and in the correct order. If not you will severely fuck up!! Just saying
@@slickRG_17 I also picked up the 625 for the same reason, one and done. I just haven't committed to whether I'm going .01/.02 or .01/.026. Also, since my trans is still stock and bruised (trans cooler line popped off on the highway), I didn't want to be tempted to bump up the tune after the studs and ruin it completely.

I have a 2008 6.7 1 ton and it's my first experience with these pick up diesels and hi po aftermarket parts . I own a detroit 3 cyl turbo in my backhoe and a diesel kabota . I am not aquainted with all these aftermarket parts , but ; the one thing that has always concerned me about modifying my diesels in any way is the way these things produce vibration and shake in a way that gasoline engines never see . I have built and drag raced gas engines and those things can't be compared to modifying a diesel engine when you are dealing with that vibration !!! What I want to express here regarding your intake horn is that even though the construction looks very good on this product , I would be very concerned about running anything on a diesel engine that was welded together like your intake . My concerns may be unfounded , but ; being a welder , I have seen the long term effects that vibration has on welded parts on industrial machinery and an intake manifold being welded together and bolted directly to one of these vibration machines just doesn't strike me as a long term , happy situation !! I would like to know if one of these could take 80 or 100,00 miles on one of these engines without the welds cracking ??!!

I have the same intake and love it! The only thing I wish was different about it is the the angle for the boost boot. It doesn't sit strait and it bothers me. Lol
You are also not getting rid of the grid heater, the nut on the grid heater breaks and goes to your number 6 cylinder and destroys your engine.. with the banks you not only get the BEST intake, but also deletes the factory grid heater and the banks intake comes with a new coil style grid heater that goes in the intake.. that’s a win win, that’s why it’s so expensive, it’s a 2 for 1 upgrade when you go with banks
The Banks intake by itself does not remove the heater bolt issue. Same as this intake. Less than $100 grid heater delete plate paired with the pusher style intake will take care of the issue, for under $200.

So after looking around all the people who make these say the crease / dent is for clearance of dipstick which doesn’t come anywhere close to the intake. Thinking about getting one I just don’t care for the dent which messes up air flow by causing a roll in the air movement. Also talking the heater plate off because it only good for real cold weather. (Any increase in air flow is a good increase regardless of how much HP is gained)
It doesn't mess with the dipstick maybe if u have a asin trans but in a 68rfe it's on the passenger side. Unless u running a super high hp application that dent will not even be noticed in performance plus u can't even really see it once installed

EFI live question, I have a custom tune efi live and have the CSP5 switch 15 Ram 2500 . I w owned this truck since 2017 , was tuned a year ago has been great I keep it under tune 3. Question is when switching from tunes on the fly does the trans needs a relearn or time to relearn etc ? I’ve read conflicting things over the years on forums , what’s your take on it ?
@EVERYTHANG DIESEL I found some welding slag on the inside that was keeping the sensor from going in all the way. I filed it out, and the sensor fits nicely. Thanks for your reply, brother.
The only and main reason I wouldn't want it is because there is no heater installation port. If it had a coil heater port, you'd have gold in your hand. As long as it doesn't warp.

Just get the Banks fuel line that’s made to go around their intake and you won’t have to have the dent that gives you room to go around your pusher intake .

Disconnect the wire that connects to the bolt

So I removed my grid heater myself,wire to the battery,relay etc all gone now for $0🤷♂️ spent less than $70 for pusher style intake so there you go

Do you need pipe dope on the hardware holing the horn to the block. Do the bolt holes go all the way through and leak if not.?

How do you do new tunes I had my truck tuned by a local mechanic but I don’t know what time he used and want to retune it
Just buy a tuner, like ez lynk or efi live and it will overwrite over whatever tune file is currently installed

BD makes a grid heater fix for 250 bucks. Banks charging 1300 for their monster ram is laughable.

EFI live question, I have a custom tune efi live and have the CSP5 switch 15 Ram 2500 . I w owned this truck since 2017 , was tuned a year ago has been great I keep it under tune 3. Question is when switching from tunes on the fly does the trans needs a relearn or time to relearn etc ? I’ve read conflicting things over the years on forums , what’s your take on it ?
I just installed the exact same intake horn and found that the MAP sensor does not fit flush in the new one. Did you have the same issue?
I did not. If the mating surface is flat u shouldn't have a issue. Check make sure the plug isn't hitting something
@EVERYTHANG DIESEL I found some welding slag on the inside that was keeping the sensor from going in all the way. I filed it out, and the sensor fits nicely. Thanks for your reply, brother.

How do you license that pickup in California when it’s deleted?
The only and main reason I wouldn't want it is because there is no heater installation port. If it had a coil heater port, you'd have gold in your hand. As long as it doesn't warp.

Mod according to budget great videos. I personally just bought the bank 4.0 and had to buy boost tubes because OEM wouldn’t match up.
nothing wrong with running the banks tube at all, its a excellent intake manifold

With the transmission shifting fast run it with the tow haul on.
Just get the Banks fuel line that’s made to go around their intake and you won’t have to have the dent that gives you room to go around your pusher intake .
