Ive bought 6 mini's now. 5 mini t2.0s for my kids, my dad, and myself. My wife had to be different and wanted the mini B. We built a nice clay track in our backyard and it's been a blast!
My son bought me the Mini-B 2.0 brushless so we could run together at the HRCR carpet track. Can not get enough of this car and want to be on the track more. I would love to see you carpet race this and go over detailed setup. I have yet seen any content creator going over detailed setups for carpet with the Mini-B. If I can get the Mini-B down, I might jump up to 1/10 scale and start racing. Addictive/fun stuff. Like your TH-cam content, have learned some good setup stuff. Thank you!..
I would love to see other companies introduce their own 16th scale buggies. This would help reduce the challenges of opening an indoor track. Ive looked at lots of spaces that are just a touch too small for 10th scale but would be find for an 18th scale track
Do you have a backyard? If so build your own track, it's a great hobby. If not maybe with Facebook or something you could connect with people that have that same interest and build one somewhere close to home
This is a great spec vehicle to get into carpet racing. On smaller carpet tracks, this thing is very tunable. More tracks need to consider this as a way to introduce the hobby to more folks.
I myself “stumbled across” your videos and am pressuring myself into racing. Used to bash as a kid but am old now. Novice class is where I assume one starts but I don’t wanna be “that guy” that is the only old guy on the racers stand in the novice class! Thoughts I am interested in the 4WD buggy class as I just want a 4 WD car. Selfish I know! Great videos thank you!
The rtr has been perfect for kids just getting started. Everything in the box and inexpensive. This looks really good to make mod mini B's. Fun little buggy. All the brands should be looking at this
I am the EXACT person you described in your video. January I bought three of these to get back into racing after 30years (before xxx) and I love how little you can spend to get a great platform especially knowing I needed everything, not just the car. After not even a year I’ve dove in so much I have plans on going to the biggest Mini race in the nation at R/C Madness in Ct, in March (I have to fly in). My local track has not stepped up to the plate fully so I really hope you can help promote this platform even more, Thank you. BTW - weight….. go ahead and add too much then take out what’s not needed. Ssshhhhhh, don’t tell anyone though. Lol
Glad to see an extremely reasonable price point for this. I recently found myself downsizing to 1/28 scale since the winter weather has our local outdoor track clsoed for the season. I was really surprised that there's another, almost completely separate community involved with the smaller stuff. It's been really great and it's definitely a segment worth exploring if you're looking to broaden your horizons and knowledge of all things RC.
What 1/28 did you get? If you got the associated. I promise you you’ll be impressed if you get a gt24b. Kits 99. Brushless 4wd w/slipper tire options. And it HAULS. 2s is almost unusable in the house
@@zacbrewser I purchased a couple different brands. The Atomic AMR and AMZ touring cars caught my eye initially because they were more similar to the 1/10 scale cars that I'm used to with double wishbones, CVDs, etc. Since then, we've added an AWD Mini-Z that my son races in the drift car class and we also picked up another AMR and AMZ for a total of 4. The track we race on is a road course, but recently they've talked about adding some jumps and starting a class for the 4WD buggies. I would actually be up for that too since it's not so different from running 1/10 scale offroad cars on carpet. Like I said before though, I'm just really thankful to have anything local to race in the winter months here in Iowa!
I bought mini-ts for my two nephews, brother and dad last year and then upgraded them to the brushless combo this summer. I didn't time it, but those 50C dynamites gave us runtime of more than 20 minutes per charge pretty easily. Although they were really hard to drive on the indoor carpet at RCMADNESS without a lot of suspension tinkering...and those dang rear dogbones disappeared, because with a good smack the rear camber arm pops right off and your driveshaft gets ejected at speed. I feel like I was always working on one of the 4 mini-ts - then again, the nephews are under 10 so it's not like they were pro drivers, RYAN. :P
More mini B footy please! Need to prep and sauce those tires and loosen up the slipper and you’ll be golden. Been running the mini with my 22 5.0 at my local carpet track and having a blast. Though going from one to the other is quite a challenge for a lap or two. Great content as always!
Just got the brushed version for Black Friday. Amazing price. Amazing setup out of the box for what it is. I really wished there was some classes for these things here in DFW, TX.
Hey Ryan, great video I have a mini B myself. And of course I upgraded it for my local rc race track as well. The hopups I put on it are: alu steering rack, hobbywing Pro Stock spec esc, Carisma racing sensored 4650kv motor and alu slipper plates, proline tires (wedgeFront/prism Rear) and it rips at the track. But the tip I want to give you is replace your standard plastic slipper plates for the aluminum plates (LOS312007). The plastic plates will wear considerably faster with that 6k kv motor or even melt in high traction conditions. Hope the tip is of some use to you.
You def found your groove after a lap or two. Looks like fun! That dynamite power package sure seems like the ONLY way to go! All videos I've seen with cars using that setup really seem to boogie!
This is great, here in Scotland we run the Tamiya M-chassis as a budget racing class and I love it! I also race 2wd, 17.5 TC and F1. You asked for a suggestion of what to do with it? Why not do a video with a nephew/niece or friend's kid and introduce them to the hobby with a little track in the garden or local park?
All the local carpet tracks near me run these now as a class. Some tracks even run a stock and mod class. I have 2 already but I’ll be getting this new roller to be my mod buggy. HackFab makes some really cool parts for this platform. 👍
Your delivery style and layout of this video is on point! Obviously you know your stuff but still come across very down to earth. To see you slinging this thing around the track was awesome! How I miss our indoor 1/10 clay track here in Houston
My friends and I used to go to a park in Seattle with short course trucks and make a figure 8 track around a couple of trees and race all day. It was super fun to slide them around in the dirt and have loose racing competition. It’s the first thing I thought of when seeing the mini and I think they would be perfect for park bash racing!
I was wondering when Losi was going to release something like this. Now they just need to release a better servo and the T/B will be even better. Sweet video!
Looking at picking a few up for some Kids in church to come out and have fun giving rc a try. Hope the local track will run some club racing with them.
Super cool to see TLR/Losi coming out with a buggy version. I remember when the mini T was super popular years ago. Would love to see a mini T Pro version. Awesome vid Ryan. I might have to pick one of those up this holiday season.
I bought a regular brushed mini-b for my son. Probably the biggest issue with it for kids is that it's actually a bit more difficult to drive than larger vehicles. It has proven to be quite durable though. On his the ball cups popout somewhat easily, but that also prevents other things from breaking. I do have the brushless motor for it, but my son isn't ready for that kind of speed. With the brushless it is very nearly as fast as stock 17.5 buggies.
BUY EXTRA DOGBONES. Those rear camber arms pop off and spit the shafts out, and they're small and painted black - almost impossible to find in the grass at dusk.
glad to finally see Losi pushing the Mini-B and Mini-T 2.0 to drivers/ influencers! We love racing these at our local track. Mini Nationals coming March 2022!
My Losi Mini-b showed up in the mail yesterday. It's a fun vehicle, I'm not entirely sure where I'll get to use it beyond the driveway. But the suspension seems very competent, but the ground clearance makes it a little small for driving in the grass in my yard.
These look sweet... we have a carpet track coming to my area, and they may possibly race these minis... never done carpet before so we will probably check it out, but these might be a cheap way to start out, and would make a great way to practice driving at home with less space needed for a home track...
Mini b was my training wheels for a few months before going 10th scale. Been out of the hobby for 25 years until this car. Second and third race nights on 10th scale and I made the A main (one b bump), finishing 5th and 6th out of roughly 25. If you can learn to drive with this thing, 10th scale will come easy (it’s much harder to control than 10th scale). One word of warning, that aluminum horn will eat your servo alive (the moment arm design is bad). I had to rebuild 25 times before designing custom mounts for a reefs 99 micro, which is THE servo to get. Also, Facebook has a ton of groups for this with thousands of members…come on by!
We have 4 losi minis in my house 2 Ts 1 B 1 jrx2 they are a blast man. I built a track in the backyard and run it almost every day multiple battery packs. The girlfriend, the kid any guests that come over I got extras. All of them are kept brushed the brushless are just too fast for my track. I think if you make them too fast and run them on too big of a track, it loses the point Minis are one of the most fun things in RC in my opinion.
Ended up buying a knockoff brushless motor because the Dynamite system seems to be out of stock literally everywhere. Instead of upgrading my existing Mini B to this level, I think I'm going to make my current one a basher/practice car and use this as my track car. Thanks for showing how it competes against the 1/10 scale cars, that was fun to watch!
Thats a great 2.0 roller! it looks like it has a nice low centre of gravity. i have the mini t 1.0 with aluminum hop ups Losi are so cool! they always make a nice professional bit of kit I really wish they would re-release the micro 1/36 series they are one of coolest fastest micro Rc car on a brushless setup I have ever come across! pure power in the palm of your hand! 👍
Those little things are just a blast and half at the track normally I’ll normally go in between rounds and have some fun and I wish I could bring it to the Florida carpet champs but there wasn’t enough room but there a blast
I’d love to see you mod this out. It looks very light !!!!! Maybe some brass or lead weights added in all the right places ? The front end needs to stay planted more on take off. Supper awesome 👏 I would live to get this for my son he’s 8 years old.
I got the truck because I had a mini mamba I knew I could thrown in... DIDNT KNOW there was already a roller.. Anyways great video as always. getting back into racing so I'll be seeing you around !
Hobbywing 7800kv system for 63.99 is best bang for buck. 6000kv dynamtie system is 100 Canadian. Used the extra cash to buy the servo. And 7800kv with stock gearing will do 40 mph
Ive been contemplating a losi mini for about 2 weeks and you come out with this today! Just gotta figure out which one is right for me. Really been diving in to your videos lately and enjoying them. Good stuff Ryan!
Ryan , you think you could give us a vid on the mini b for indoor carpet setup ? Seems to be a growing class be cool to see how you would go about setting it up. Thank you for your time!
Hey Ryan, I too live in Florida and have had an interest in the "mini" racing scene but had a few concerns first, that you may be better geared to answer - 1.) Any Tracks here locally race any "mini" classes - if so, which? 2.) Are "minis" ROAR/Regulated? 2a.) If regulated, what's the specified scale to be classified as a "mini"? 1/14th, 1/16th, 1/18th? As I see multiple models rocking these scales, claiming "mini". *Your vid answers this* 3.) What's the Difference between Mini-B RTR and Pro-Roller as they're almost the same cost - the pro kit has better parts I'd assume? Thanks for all your help!
Hello from Guatemala! Nice channel, I was hoping you could help me, I have a question, I just bought a Losi mini t 2.0 brushless, can I use the components in it to finish building the Losi mini b roller pro if I where to buy one? Thanks I’m advance and keep up the good job
FYI that dynamite combo 2-in-1 motor seems like it'd be a great fir for other similar-sized cars...I fit one to my WLtoys 959, which I foolishly converted to full metal (frame, running gear, everything) and it's basically gutless from a standstill. The 6000kv rating doesn't give it much torque on the low end, so they're not much good for anything over 1/18th scale
Love your videos ! Just got the pro roller and I’m putting in the DYN 6000kv motor esc combo. I’m looking for thoughts on batteries? Any help cus there a just sooooo many out there. Thanks and keep up with the awesome content
Very cool anything to get people into racing, also great at smaller tracks where a 1/10th may not quite be suitable due to the smaller size track. It looked fun but maybe a tad overpowered, a lower kv motor may have made it a little more driveable, you can even also get small sensored systems as well.
You can shove a reefs micro 99 in there but need to drill wholes 4mm forward for it. Hobby wing has a 4600, 5200, and 7800kv motor set. Also some brass weight kids and carbon shock towers by hack fab and a guy that designed his own
That looks like such a blast! At my local club races, two guys busted out some old school 2wd Nitro Trucks that seem to be way smaller than the normal SCTs, I'd love to see your Mini B race against one of those things, but I haven't a clue what they're even called!
What we've found is as fun as they are they aren't the best option for beginners. The extreme twitchiness, lack of durability, difficulty driving could ruin the experience for somebody brand new to RC racing. Running a heavier 1/10 scale will be much more manageable. The other issue depending on the track is visibility, they very quickly disappear behind track lining, marshals, etc and if you crash often times the marshals won't even see you. I once had to get down off the driver stand and walk out on the track to get my car mid race.
Hey Ryan what tires should I run on my mini b on my smooth concrete floor basement for better traction thanks for all the great videos that got me back in this hobby after 10 years
Hey brotha just wanna say I’ve been binge watching your stuff since I got back in to rc. I really thought you had a lot more subscribers due to the quality and consistency of your content. I was surprised to see you don’t have 400k+. You will soon keep it up
I tried the aluminum shocks on my mini b but the aluminum shocks actually made my car dive worse because they raised the CG. The plastic shocks were MUCH better less roll over etc.
I have the RTR but upgraded it to brushless and it's such an incredible little buggy, but the rear tires, if you're not driving on a good surface like a track that always get good traction on, you'll burn through them so fast it's not even funny. 5 packs and mine were gone, my second set is doing better but they're warn down too now.
Ive bought 6 mini's now. 5 mini t2.0s for my kids, my dad, and myself. My wife had to be different and wanted the mini B. We built a nice clay track in our backyard and it's been a blast!

For carpet Ryan what tyres would you run on the losi mini b? I enjoy watching your channel 😊
They should make a carpet version for all those small carpet tracks where 10th scale buggy feels cramped.
Very cool Ryan!!... HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
I have a TLR 22 5.0 and the Mini-B, and i don´t know why, but i like driving the Mini-B little more 😋 Greetings from Germany 🖐
your custom body on there is the cutest thing i’ve ever seen😂😂
Hello from Guatemala! Nice channel, I was hoping you could help me, I have a question, I just bought a Losi mini t 2.0 brushless, can I use the components in it to finish building the Losi mini b roller pro if I where to buy one? Thanks I’m advance and keep up the good job
Curious, would you recommend a 2wd brushed traxxas rustler, or this mini-b to dip a toe into 2wd racing.
Come to oregon superior rc track in junction city Oregon there putting a mini B division and races.
That’ll be sick, I’m telling you 💯
But dam that does look like a nice fun little car FOR SURE
Thank you Ryan, great video. This chassis hooks up nice at my local carpet track. Keep doing your thing brother!
P.S. your voice is soo soothing!
Love your videos ! Just got the pro roller and I’m putting in the DYN 6000kv motor esc combo. I’m looking for thoughts on batteries? Any help cus there a just sooooo many out there. Thanks and keep up with the awesome content
Another good video thanks, I'm thinking this could make a great little skatepark basher :)
Very cool anything to get people into racing, also great at smaller tracks where a 1/10th may not quite be suitable due to the smaller size track. It looked fun but maybe a tad overpowered, a lower kv motor may have made it a little more driveable, you can even also get small sensored systems as well.
please make a video on how to service the shocks thanks. love the content.
✌🏻😎🏴That thing needs a wheelie bar 😂. It would be cool to see it race more against bigger vehicles once you get it dialled in.
I have one (T-Bone Racing) on my Mini B. It really did need it!
check out mip upgrades, they have a slipper clutch, ball diff, and a stand. Also check out HR, they have a very nice motor mount plate
also check out the j concepts tires!
You can shove a reefs micro 99 in there but need to drill wholes 4mm forward for it. Hobby wing has a 4600, 5200, and 7800kv motor set. Also some brass weight kids and carbon shock towers by hack fab and a guy that designed his own
It looks amazing. Possibly could use a little weight up front.... cheers
That looks like such a blast! At my local club races, two guys busted out some old school 2wd Nitro Trucks that seem to be way smaller than the normal SCTs, I'd love to see your Mini B race against one of those things, but I haven't a clue what they're even called!
Hopefully my local track can run the mini truck as a class
What we've found is as fun as they are they aren't the best option for beginners. The extreme twitchiness, lack of durability, difficulty driving could ruin the experience for somebody brand new to RC racing. Running a heavier 1/10 scale will be much more manageable. The other issue depending on the track is visibility, they very quickly disappear behind track lining, marshals, etc and if you crash often times the marshals won't even see you. I once had to get down off the driver stand and walk out on the track to get my car mid race.
This needs to become a class haha!
The Hobby Plex in Omaha N.E. Race's them they have "Tinny Tuesday" they run nothing but the T/B mini's at
Hey Ryan what tires should I run on my mini b on my smooth concrete floor basement for better traction thanks for all the great videos that got me back in this hobby after 10 years
Those are my favourite basher tires.
When is Losi going to re-release the Kinwald XX-CR?
Is there an assortment of 1/18th tires and inserts available for different track conditions?
There’s a bunch of different treads even for sand
Hey brotha just wanna say I’ve been binge watching your stuff since I got back in to rc. I really thought you had a lot more subscribers due to the quality and consistency of your content. I was surprised to see you don’t have 400k+. You will soon keep it up
Cannot go wrong with Losi mini!
That's freaking awesome Ryan.. thanks for sharing
very nice spec vehicle great video ryan
I tried the aluminum shocks on my mini b but the aluminum shocks actually made my car dive worse because they raised the CG. The plastic shocks were MUCH better less roll over etc.
If the top of the shock will fit in the arms try running them upside down to lower the weight
Im ready to see you race that gas truck you have with the Ignite rc kit.
Did you paint that body or buy it like that? Looks sooooo good
