I'm an American, but her death is surreal to me. She was Queen for 8 years when I was born. I've never known any other Queen. The Queen Mother stayed out of the limelight and tabloids, so Elizabeth II was all I knew for 62 years. When I saw the break in on television I sat dumbfounded and staring for a very long time. A stunning it was.
I still feel moments of it being not true.
I can only imagine how it feels for the citizens of England. ☹️
      Big changes coming perhaps?

On several of these videos, you see the Queen (with her crown on the table in front of her) saying that you have to read the speech holding it up, you can’t look down at it. It sounds like she is making a petty rule. Well, if we saw the REST of the video, we would see that she is talking about when she has the crown on her head, it is so heavy, it would “break her neck” if she looked down to read her speech!😆👍❤️

My uncle was offered a job at Buckingham palace. It was bookeeping and would have meant he would have to live in. He turned it down as he would have been too far away from his family.
The residential school my disabled son used to be in the staff were allowed to bring they're well behaved dog's into work. The children loved taking them for a walk. My son used to have a fear of dog's. But being around them helped him be less fearful. Though he still won't stroke a dog he at least will walk past one that's on a lead. As long as they're not running up expecting attention or barking then he's ok.

That’s why they are fat and have a hard time walking. I lost my dachshund due to back problems and being overweight. They have the sweetest, saddest puppy dog eyes. But, he had to be put down at least five years too early. He couldn’t walk anymore because he lost all nerves in his back legs due to his back and would 💩 all over himself. To get around, he hopped like a bunny. It broke my heart. He was my little sidekick. We never spent one night apart. He was of complete sound and mind. He just couldn’t get around anymore. Those Corgy’s were bigger than mine. I always feel bad now when I see it. It’s so hard on their backs. My vet told me one slice of cheese to them is the equivalent of three cheeseburgers for humans. We just don’t think because we love them so much. But, if we want them as long as possible, we can’t give them human food or at least only a certain amount of calories. I miss him so much and he was put down nearly 10 years ago. He changed my life - for the better. RIP Rusty and Queen Elizabeth II.

A footman/valet, wrote about the toothpaste incident. His valet would put things out for him, since Charles’ day would usually be packed full. So he would get his toothbrush ready. One morning he put the toothbrush on the wrong side of the sink. Charles then wrote a memo, teasing him about it. Later on, I read about it in another book, where the author used the incident to imply Charles wrote an “angry” memo to his valet. But others have said also, that the Royals suitcases and luggage are packed by the valets. The royals have no idea how to pack a suitcase.

    • @titchs9098
      @titchs9098 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Funny, as from what I heard, Charles needed help putting toothpaste on his toothbrush after he broke his arm playing polo. The certain footman who would help him used to get mocked by other staff because of his loyalty to the now King.
The royals not having a clue how to pack a suitcase is quite an assumption too, since I’ve seen footage of the late Queen ironing and packing her clothes when travelling on the royal train…

These rules are similar everywhere in the world. Even in Africa we still have chiefs, kings working in hand in hand with modern governments. If one visited the homes of these chiefs, certain rules have to be followed. They have workers in their palaces that attend to their needs.

She did live through the war and the rationing. I didn't but my parents and grandparents did so I rarely waste food. Now that's not to say that occasionally I buy fresh vegetables and before I can use them they go bad. But when I do my menu at the beginning of the week I put things in the order that I think they may go bad or expire. So we waste as little as possible.

Well some of the rules that seem odd to us have been put into place over the years to remedy some kind of issue or problem. We may never know exactly “why” the Royal Family insists on certain things being done as they are! 🤷🏼‍♀️. I bet the Queen (or someone) has gotten their fingers bit feeding carrots to the horses and in order to avoid that happening again it was just so decided that whoever prepared them must be aware of what worked. No big deal, not pompous at all! And most equestrians peel carrots before feeding them to horses because their stomachs can be fickle and easily upset which is deadly for a horse!

    • @dan13ljks0n

No way! That would be a job I'd pass on. I would mess something up for sure, completely because I'd be so afraid I would!
    🤭
That's a lot to keep straight, but it does appear that there was one person for all those jobs, so maybe it would be a piece of cake?
So those people behind the scenes, imagine for one minute or two, if for some reason they were all incapacitated for a day. How would the royals have fared? I reckon chaos, 🤭 mayhem, and confusion.
I'd feel so bad I'd have to try and help out in some way. If I were a secretary for someone in the castle I'd just have to jump in. I simply couldn't let them flounder.
We Americans know nothing of a proper protocol of an entity, (yeah never mind the presidency, meh that's easy). I find this list fascinating.
I also have a feeling the royals have a bigger sense of humor than any of us know. I bet they do 😁
They'd have to... Any Queen would have to have a funny streak if she has an adoration for two of the funniest looking dogs, Corgis & Dorgis 😅

I was very fortunate to be asked to apply for a position at the palace, and was offered the job, back in 2015. sadly my step father passed away right at the same time, and I was not able to start due to supporting my family... However, some of the things highlighted in the video, which I got to see, are just a well organised and efficient way of doing things. Yes, some of the things highlighted for King Charles may seem like he is pampered, and on some fronts that may be correct, but laying out of an outfit for the day is just basic valet skills. The tea tray maps, even I do that now in my current position, and is something used widely across private service. Also, the 118 staff bedrooms, the majority are not in the palace, at least not the main building, they are in a separate set of buildings away from main building its self. And, the swimming pool highlighted as an amenity really isn't for staff, although maybe they get to use it on occasion, not sure.

The Queen didn’t like food waste because she lived through the hardship of food shortages and rations during the world wars. She might not have suffered that personally, but I’m sure it made her value basic necessities like food more, in comparison to my generation of millennials, who’ve never experienced something like that and yet somehow find something to complain about in every little thing. 😅

The royal family had their own ration cards during the war and got just the same amount of food as every other family of the same size. All the food produced on the home farms in their estates was also given in accordance of the laws. The last thing King George would have wanted was to have been seen feasting when the rest of the country was going without.

There are lots of people that have incredible achievements that couldn't do certain things. Beethoven composed some of his most famous music after he became deaf. Besides, he doesn't actually rule. The English monarchy draw attention to charities, offer support to official engagements --like visit schools and military units, newly opened hospital and charity headquarters--, show a united front to all the countries in the commonwealth. They are there to strength national unity and offer stability. The only important ruling tasks they do are appoint the prime minister's, approve new laws, receive foreign dignitaries and preside over certain parliamentary events. Oh, and they can also declare war. In the end, the British Monarchy is a stalwart standing fast to offer support and comfort. Enduring for centuries and still standing. Also only costs each British person £1.25 a year to financially support the family.

They are paid more than the minimum wage, plus you have a lifetime of job security as long as you do it well.

The most depressing place to work , don't do it. Senior managers are so out of touch with real employees

We have a 74 year old child as King.
Apparently he’d never seen cling film before he married Camilla. He thought it was ‘ghastly’. He also likes the class system and looks down upon us.
This is the problem they don’t live in the real world and have no idea what his ‘subjects’ go through. They live in a bubble.
I really think Charles isn’t going to be a good King because of the above reasons.
I only think William can save the Royal Family for future generations as he’s more down to earth and seen more as a real person who lives in the real world thanks to Diana.

I would have definitely tried to get a job as a Queen's corgi butler back when Her Majesty was alive. Though would be jealous that the corgis' got chef made food if I didn't (I'm simple, boujie eggs on toast or a sandwich with all the trimmings would be fine 😂)
