    Got fitted into P790 after 3 years with Callaway Rogues, Hcap has come down from 23 to 15 in that time. Gone for 5-AW. Tried Mizuno JPX921 HM Pro, Callaway Apex and Titleist T200 at the fitting centre. The P790 were a no brainer. You didn't mention extended delivery times, certainly an issue in the UK. I have been waiting ages for delivery, hopefully they will be here in a couple of weeks!

      Good stuff and best of luck with them. You picked the right head from that bunch for speed retention. We hand build the clubs onsite here so its a 3 week turnaround for us here in Ireland. Cheers.

    Hi guys, this is the best review of this club I have seen - I have Wilson PI5 (old!) irons and I tried these, easily extra 20 yards with 7 iron, exactly like you say in the video. Would love to see you review the Wilson D9 forged to see how they compare.

    • @foregolfcustom

      Hey Nigel, thanks for that. Wilson review sounds like a good idea. Thanks for watching and the feedback. 👍🏻

    I got fit bt Dave to the 2019 p790 during the summer. They won out due to superior front to back dispersion. I'm a 2 handicap but not a big hitter so they help with distance too. Superb iron.

    Great stuff as always guys! Hit the P770s last year with Dave, lovely club but still enjoying the 919 HM Pros you fit me for a few seasons back. Do you think there is merit in a split set? P790 5 & 6, P770 7-A for that bit of forgiveness? Or does it create a gap between 6 & 7?

    • @foregolfcustom
      @foregolfcustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good stuff. Yep too much of a gap where the tech drops. Better to go all the way through with this head.

    Hi guys. Thx for the review. I'm currently playing the MP18 MMC and searching new irons for 2022, wich are a little bit easier to play on my bad days :-) Sticking at HCP 14 since 2 years I think the game is tough enough and something e.g. jpx 921 forged are "only a half step". Otherwise I don't want to go too bulky. I think these are something to consider, right? Are the jpx 921 hot metal pro a good comparison to the p790 in terms of looks and forgivingness?

      @foregolfcustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey RG, thanks for watching. Glad you like it. Look at new Mizuno Pro 223 head, JPX HM Pro good too and also P770 for that smaller profile with added forgiveness. 😉👌🏻

  • @MrMavrix

    Great video about the 2021 P790s... I'm currently considering to switch to these. I'm currently playing Mizuno Pro 223 with an Accra shaft (graphite, senior to regular flex (custom) 60 gram). Now my question: Would the P790 with a lightweight steel shaft an option? e.g. Nippon NS Pro 850GH or the NEO which should come end of September this year... Cheers Markus

    • @foregolfcustom
      @foregolfcustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be tough to improve on those Mizuno’s tbh. It all depends on why you are thinking of a change and what your hoping to improve by making that switch.

    • @MrMavrix
      @MrMavrix 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@foregolfcustom I'm hoping to get a bit more distance out of the stronger lofts from the P790s and maybe the a tighter dispersion because of steel shaft. My swing speed is around 75mph...

    • @foregolfcustom
      @foregolfcustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might see a little more distance but make sure you get a fit and a hit on the Taylor Made clubs before going ahead.

    Hi Guys, was chatting to a golf buddy earlier today about P790s , he mentioned he had been fitted by you guys last year and hey presto I came across your P790 review . Excellent review guys - great information. My question to you, I am an 18 handicapper - 16 was my lowest but not for long unfortunately - I am currently using Ping G25 irons - well overdue a change - so time to upgrade and focus on getting that handicap down by 4 or 5 shots - I am looking at G425's versus P790's - what would you suggest is the better option? Thanks

    • @foregolfcustom
      @foregolfcustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kevin, glad you like the review. 👍🏻Tight call on those two as they are fairly similar. Best bet is to hit both and pick the one you like best for looks and feel. Get them fitted right to make the best of the tech. Good luck. 👊🏼🏌🏻‍♂️

    • @foregolfcustom
      @foregolfcustom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ray, only very subtle design changes that won’t yield any huge improvements or advantages. The changes aren’t showing any big play differences. 👍🏻

    Hi guys please could I ask, I use to use 120g iron stiff shafts and I hit my 7 150yds.
    I changed my irons to 2021 p790 with lighter shaft, dynamic gold 105 s300. But I damaged my back before I could use the new irons. I would like advice could I still use these new irons after my recovery, I'm 52 with average swing, I was thinking of selling these and get regular flex in a new set of irons. For when I get back? Whsts your advice could i use these or change to regular

    • @foregolfcustom
      @foregolfcustom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Karl, this is a very tough question to answer as a lot will depend on how you recover from your injury. Don’t think changing to a regular flex is necessarily the way to go. The best advice is to get properly assessed by a good coach who also has knowledge in S&C/TPI fitness to see where your flexibility and swing are at? Then I would find someone who can test the different weighted shafts and flexes to see what will work best with your body. Hope that helps. Good luck with it.

    Hi guys just come across your video. I myself over draw the ball thinking about a set of p790 need more distance now. can I just get them two degrees flat which I have in my current irons cheers ( great video by the way) 👍

    • @foregolfcustom
      @foregolfcustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good call. Yea get them flat and maybe look at a stiffer tip profile shaft? What shaft and flex do you have currently and what heads are you playing?👍🏻

    • @foregolfcustom

    Personally I think they could remove some of the confusion with the naming by going P790, P791 etc., - once you have three versions and have to differentiate with the year anyway you're kinda most of the way there already.

      Taylormade would be crazy to change the P790 name to anything else, the P790 has been a game changer. I can't think of any other iron that has improved golf for so many people. The P790 is the envy of the golf industry.
