I have not been Railton Building since late 1990s. But, the makeover especially of public spaces look phenomenal. And used offer only One bed room area with bath. Now amazing One bedroom apartments with kitchens. Under $500 per month is remarkable

It so great to see the restoration of the old Evangeline - this was my very first home away from home - I lived there from 1963 to 1966 and have wonderful and fond memories. My first room was 1518 and then a southwest corner room on either the 14th floor or the 16th floor. I still dream of the elevators and and remember the scary movies I watched in the basement TV room while doing laundry. My very first roommate is still a good friend. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much for the kind words from across the "Pond" and for finding us on TH-cam. It feels great that the son of John Railton was able to discover our video.
We believe that all the hard work and effort we put into the building truly honors the memory of your Father! It is a landmark that is both of the community and for the community.
    Yours Sincerely,
    SalArmySTL

Ever since my father told me that back in the 1930 ´s when he was a boy, he and his 10 brothers and sisters, got boots from the Salvation Army, the organisation has had a place in my heart.
It´s great to see that in America the Salvation Army is going strong and doing a great job. I just wish my dad was alive to hear about The Railton.
My best regards and wishes to all involved in the Salvation Army from other side of the "Pond".
    Yours Sincerely
    John Railton
