Easiest way is to use 4 metal dino gates and a large bear trap, place 3 gates in a square with an opening and have the bear trap in the middle of them, you then lure the giga into the trap and quickly run around and place the final gate, now it should be stuck and ready for knocking out (I suggest bringing nothing with you except the gate because the bear trap doesn't last long so if you die you don't lose anything
This is the way I use, very effective, the bear trap is just for safety tho, I've done it without aswell.
This method is quite nice yeah, but i personally play on a hardcore server so too risky for me. I got my own method with making 4 stone behemoth gates in another tribe than the one you are taming it in. It can't damage the behemoth gates since they are in another tribe and dinos cannot damage other tribes structures if it is aggroed on you.
and then what happens if the people who placed the gates want to tame a giga? Fail!
Then the tribe you helped could help you back with a gate pen lol

Brad Rad Because it is with a trap. Hardest part is trapping it. It would be easy with a large trap but I used his 4 dino metal gate trap from a different video and it was quite frustrating to get it in but not that difficult. Once it's trapped unload your arrows/darts shove it full of narcotics but preferably biotoxin and prime meat, mutton or kibble and done.

I am already aware all of this, but it's definitely great guide for inexperienced ones. Thanks for the video man, and keep up the great work. When it comes to ARK tips and tricks, i always search on your chanel. I use this taming calculator you can chceck it out here ( www.survive-ark.com/taming-calculator/ ). Its serving me well so far. It does everything as yours, but it tells you even the recipe for the kibble. And taming effectiveness you can expect with food you enter. Which is nice. Peace...

im super late but one time i was playing and i got kicked off while flying over a level 130 on my wyvern i thought i lost all my stuff and my wyvern. Lucky me i got there with a pt and my wyvern was just hovering there and led the giga away so i could get my stuff!

It quite easy tame a giga on foot for me just make sure you got hella movement speed
Apollo _-16 With no cheats you would probably need to put all your points into movement speed which would make your character useless for everything besides running away like a chicken. I doubt that eve that would make you fast enough.
Giga is one of the fastest creatures in game. He might seem slow and clumsy but he is so big and had massive steps.

An easier way would be to make 4 metal dino gates and 1 large bear trap, place 3 of the dino gates in a square with a little room in the corners and leaving room for the last dino gate, place the bear trap in the middle of the 3 dino gates, get the gigas attention and have it follow you to the trap, one the giga is trapped you have time to place the last dino gate. Nerd Parade did a video on it. Easiest way to tame a giga.

When playing a hardcore pvp server, you need to remain aware as a cat at every second. It starts to drill holes in your brain after a couple of hours, taming under that sort of stress. They should fix that somehow.

Hi Steve, Thanks for yet again an excellent video with very helpful info. I also use the starve technique for taming and also place wood spikes around the Giga while it's down - great minds think alike :D
I tamed a male lvl 44 this morning, not exactly what I was after, but I am kind of obsessed with Gigas :) I place gates on a flat surface like this (close it off as soon as it's trapped on the bear trap). Definitely gets the blood pumping lol

I found an AMAZING gigs taking spot, it is to the north of the mountain you said they spawn on: it is slightly off shore, it is a formation of three rocks, if you kite the gigs in from the back, it cannot get out and you can just sit on the rocks and shoot it.

Thank you so much dude you are the best because I learned from my mistakes me dying 50 times but I finally did it in the end I got a level 300 giga and I did it solo I was standing up on a ledge then when it was unconscious I fed it the opposite of narcotics the other stuff that gives you a tour for and that’s how a tamed my giga

I tried to kill one, with cheats, with a rocket launcher, with infinite ammo, and oh boy did I fail. -_-

Also a manual minigun turret on a tower with inventory full of bullets would probably do the job.
Wilds are stronger than tamed ones. So strong and have too much health, I needed to empty two stocks of ammo(I used a journeyman assault rifle, a normal pump-action shotgun, and an ascendant longneck) and it was just level 20.
Only thing that's ever killed a Giga for me is 8 uber turrets. One chased me all the way to my primary base.

Or you can use a quetzal and a platform saddle… (Get a small ravine and trap it)

Lol, there are only two GOOD ways to KO a giga, use metal dino gates and a bear trap and then place the last dino gate once the giga is stuck in the bear trap. Another way is to find an area where a giga will get stuck in and put up a metal behemoth gate and fences, one great place for this on the center is North River near the mouth to the ocean.
Majority of the people who tame HIGH LEVELS(not level 36s) use the metal gate method. They also don't keep shooting the dino when its already unconcious lmao.
Also you dont need 1000 narc arrows, i have KOd multiple 140s and 150s with 350 arrows from an MC crossbow or two, these aren't exactly hard to get a hold of with alphas dropping them.

Ok? And you saw i said good? You cant afford to waste time moving around or missing shots with gigas just cause of the -100-414 torpor loss PER SECOND. If you ever want to tame a giga that hits for more than a Parasaur any method that involves it running away and losing torpor is a bad method...
--Yup, I got it semi-stuck on a kliff side, it did wonder away but I'll pop it with my pistol when it meanders, start back w/ the arrows. Took me roughly 300 Tranq Arrows and I broke my XBow around 4 or 5 times. Back and forth fixing trips suck, so have a few with you by default.
2:55 The Giganotosaurus does not have multipliers for headshots or any other areas.

Hey, in case you didn't know you can quickly transfer/drop items with the two keybinds T (transfer) and O (drop), these can of course be changed :) You probably already knew but I just noticed that you dragged the items across the invents

I'm looking forward to the Titanosaur taming video. I've tried on the server I play on, since the admin made them a permanent tame for us but was unsuccessful. The torpor "glitched" because I tried trapping it, after that I tried a few other methods that didn't work. I hope you have better luck than I did.
I know after it gets to 42,000 torpor you have to move it to another area
I recommend to trap it in stone gates because it will need alot of time to destroy them.I recommend if ur doing this solo to take a good crossbow or build a second layer of gates after its knocked

I have my maximum wild dino level set at 600 and managed to trap a 560 level giga in a huge complex made of stone foundations with stairs on the outside. The stone foundations held but it tore apart stone stairs, walls and ceilings. It took hundreds of shocking tranq darts (this alone took nearly an hour) and then another 2 hours plus to tame (about 4 in-game days and nights). But now I have my first high level Giga! Not sure if you can mate them but I'll aim for another if I can find one - they're rarer than droppings off a rocking horse in my game for some reason.

Chain bolas do work but you just have to hit it with 2 or 3 on the gigs for it to take effect

You should use crumplecorn the tame calculator, the first show in google search.
With it you can know how many narcotics you gonna need, how many narcs give to get the maximum torpor and set a alarm when the torpor level is low.
you know for a such a big dino that spawns commonly around the mountains I just cannot find one do I need to do command kill all wild dinos to clear a spawn for it?
with an argey you could try sending the argey to attack to get closer. then group whistle passive. and just do that over and over
You can also use a club if u hit for enough or get it surrounded by rocks
Guys don’t tame a giga with a longneck just use a crossbow and tranq arrows because the reload speed is SO SLOW on the longneck so the giga will regen it’s torpidity SO QUICKLY U WILL TAKE AGES TO TAME IT, I learned that the hard way...

Just a note, a 'Gigantosaur' is actually a sauropod (long neck herbivore)
The giga has no damage modifiers for any areas of its body, so shooting it in the head is exactly as effective as anywhere else.

Instructions not clear currently trapped in Giga's stomach.
bio toxin applies 80 torpor over 16 seconds and you can get that quite easily as they;re are a lot of jellyfish near herbivore island (bottom left of the map on the island). use the crossbow or a spino to kill them and a metal hatchet to harvest it
great vid but i have one more tip, build the spikes wider around the giga (rexes have a large aeo) and also cover the tail as you did the body (tail also has a hitbox)

Its very easy to tame giga
1. U need to find it
2. Make 349 darts
3. Make 3 guns
4. Tame it
Or just make 4 metal dino gate frames and place 3 in a square and a bear trap in the middle and lead it in and places the 4th behind it when it's trapped. We solo tame gigas all the time with this method
