Oh I love onions, they look great, thank you for sharing, I dehydrate my veggies and onions, marshmallows for the kids. 😂 Blessings Sweet Friend !!! ✝️💟
Great video. My son just gave me an enormous sac of Vidalia onions. I’m going to have to run them through food processor & freeze in bags. I don’t have an outdoor space to run dehydrator, because onions would have too much odor. Oh, I just thought, maybe I could run the dehydrator overnight in my little $100 greenhouse. 💡💡💡
I would absolutely LOVE to have a freeze drier! Even if I could afford one (which I can't) I would have no place to put it in my small apartment. I'm going to have to be happy with a dehydrator, which I hope to have soon.
I could only imagine how great it would be to have one of these as I preserve a lot. I would love to buy one but I can not afford it as I lost my business after a long hospital stay with Covid. But I can enjoy watching you use it. Love watching you and now have so many friends watching you. 💖
I think it would be cool to start 'Sun dried tomatoes" in the Excalibur, then possibly move them outside to the Sun part. That was on my bucket list. Like how Kretschmar (God you'd think I'd know how to spell it), has their sun dried Turkey, or Red pepper infused. Nice. I'd just cram them in a bottle in olive oil, onions, pepper corns?. bake chicken with it. i guess... Lots of cool directions folks can go in. That's why your America's Home Econ teacher!!! USAWW!!
Renae, what about using your baggie clip holder things to hold your mylar bags while you are loading them? Hands free? You are the best teacher. Thank you.
Yes Renea, I checked on the sale and you CAN use the Layaway plan. Showed hubby and let him taste some freeze dried fruit I bought from Thrive Life. I think I have convinced him that we need one. Love your channel and I love you and Mr Wayna. Have a blessed day. ❤❤
Don’t have a freeze dryer but I do dehydrate and powder a lot of my own spices-hubby thinks it’s great- keeps me busy cause he uses them a lot and on everything😂
Hi Renea, I was talking to my son on Mothers day. He is into gardening, canning and dehydrating foods. We talked about the freeze dryer. We both want one. I told him about your channel and that he could put a freezer dryer on lay away. He is going to check into it. He said he wants to prep for bad times. Thank you so much for your videos. I finally got a chance to get to Larry's and got their breakfast sausage so I can make freezer breakfast burritos. Lol. Hopefully I will stop by your market stand this week. I went by a couple times but it wasn't up yet, I seen yesterday that it is up now but I couldn't stop because I had to hurry and get to Manistee and on the way back I wasn't thinking and went all the way down 31 to 13 mile home. I thought about it after I got home. Sometimes my brain doesn't work right. 😂. See you soon. ❤
So the freeze dryer sounds great. Do you save money after buying all the bags, vacuum sealer and garden supplies (if you grow your own) ? I guess over time maybe. Can you store in mason jars with oxygen bags for a long time? I really want to get one. I’m weighing out how cost effective for us it would be.
How did your room smell while and after you FD’d your garlic and onions? I want to try them but my building smelled pretty strong after I did broccoli. Someone suggested including a slice of bread to absorb the order. I do love my Harvest Right. Also, do you have to have a permit, where you live, to sell your FD’d and prepared/baked goods at your market stand?
When you say they’re not cold, does that mean you hit warm for your trays before you took them out so they wouldn’t be cold? Bet you couldn’t tell I’m the proud owner of a med FD. So happy.
I love your freeze dryer wish I owned one. The video is an old one and So I watched some of your old video’s. I ran on to the voice in the bathroom have you ever heard it again?
I'm wondering if your oxygen absorbers are still good by the time your sealing your bag I have seen/heard you have about 15 seconds and they start going bad. Maybe even load all bags first than add absorbers last. Nancy from nebraska
Freeze drying also retains about 90% of the nutrients; considerably more than dehydrating, freezing, or canning does. And when she says “years”, freeze dried foods can be stored 20+ years (when done properly).
They have a layaway plan that you control and when you have it paid they will send you the unit. I understand, I did not use credit either and it took me about 4 years to save for it. At the time I did not know about their layaway. What is nice is if you do get one, you can sell freeze dried foods to recop your cost and continue to earn a little extra monies with it. Food for thought.

I just love watching your videos yes I do love that freezer I'm still talking to Bill trying to convince him to get us one
I luv my Excalibur.. have had it for over 30 years, Only one issue and company covered it no questions asked.
I love your enthusiasm xxx
I miss your “Thanks for watchin.” The last few times you haven’t said it- I guess it’s true- everything changes. Blessings to you Renea! ❤😊
As a city slicker, could you explain in a video what are the differences between freezing drying vs dehydrating? Thank you.

Nice storage there girl. I sure wish I had an extra room for this thing! So happy you get to sell and make your money back!
Been cooking more lately and wanted to get the most of my food, so here I am!
Keep up the great work!
Going to FD class Saturday. I have one and my friend wants one. Seems like I learn something new on them everyday
Where did you find a FD class?
@@kellywalton4195 It’s in Bryan, Ohio. I had never heard of a class but my friend found it
I love you lady!!! Thanks for tips!!! and for recipes!! Cheers from Argentina.

I love watching you you are like real people the good bad and all
I love to dehydrate I like texture of food better. I think the freeze dried the veggies are mushy when you cook with them.
You're right ,those are beautiful yummy looking ... Can you add to any recipe ?
This is great!
I don't know how this was done.
Can make onion powder out of them? This is so wonderful!
I take the plastic and use it as a funnel. Works great
I recently put a medium freeze dryer on layaway and got the sale price!

No. That was the strangest thing ever.

Renew do you sell to your market only?
Hi Rene, where's the link for the mylar bags?
It is foodvacbags.com
Hi Mr Wayna!
He said hello.
What is the website for the bags? I can’t find it
Seems to be no good.

This may be a stupid question, but what's the difference between freeze-dried and dehydrated? Thanks much, love from Vancouver BC 🇨🇦🩷
freeze dried removes 99% of moisture in foods and foods retain their size and color and they last years longer than dehydrated.
Freeze drying also retains about 90% of the nutrients; considerably more than dehydrating, freezing, or canning does. And when she says “years”, freeze dried foods can be stored 20+ years (when done properly).
did you blanch your celery first
Although I would like to freeze dry food, I can tell there's just too much involved in the process for me. I do love my Excalibur though!
My dream is to have one but refuse credit and soc sec doesn't go that far.
They have a layaway plan that you control and when you have it paid they will send you the unit. I understand, I did not use credit either and it took me about 4 years to save for it. I keep my oxygen absorbers in a jar and keep in vacuum sealed.
When I dehydrate onions, they torn brown; any pointers?
A lower temp may help to keep the sugars from brownin.
@@audreystewart3685 thanks! I bet that's it.
I tend to dry mine around 140 degrees or a little less. No brown. Good luck 😊
130 degrees F I find is best for dehydrating onions and not overfilling the sheets is another key
Your link to the. Mlyar bags wont work
