Hugh, I'm glad I found your channel and appreciate your thought provoking videos. I listen to you on my over the ear headphones, I turn down the bass and increase the treble on my amplifier but you still sound very bassy. Have you tried using a lapel microphone or an over the ear microphone? They might improve the sound clarity of your recordings. Thanks again for your work.

Al Balijeu, thank you for your comment. "Thought provoking" is a great compliment. I'll look into my recording. My recording set-up is a Sony A7 SII with a Sennheiser AVX wireless receiver with a microphone clipped to my lapel. I edit in Final Cut Pro X. I've been following an audio protocol suggested by Final Cut Pro teacher Larry Jordan that is supposed to smooth out the highs and the lows. No one has alerted me to a sound issue before, but people could be politely putting up with less than perfect audio. I have never listened to myself on playback with headphones, so I'll give that a try. Also, I record in my home office, which is the size of a normal bedroom. I leave the double doors open to lessen any echo, but perhaps the poor acoustics are contributing to what you have noticed. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and if you have any suggestions, let me know. Very thoughtful of you.

Yes, we all need to obey and keep our temple holy and without spot! I have recently begun to keep the Sabbath holy after much study. I believe this is another element in obedience which gives glory to God!!. My first point is that it is one of the 10 commandments; it seems quite strange that God would say we only need to keep 9 of 10. Next, all believers continued to keep Sabbath after Jesus rose and went back to heaven. And next, when Jesus addressed those who said he and his disciples were working because they rubbed some grain to eat, Jesus clarified. David had physical need of hunger when he ate the showbread, The priests are guiltless for profaning the Sabbath because they were first obeying God in their job to Him, and logically if your animal is in harm, you help it. Then He healed the man with the withered hand and said it’s lawful to do good on the Sabbath. Therefore, I conclude that we are expected to keep Sabbath as God handed down, but if need arises or an opportunity to good it’s perfectly good and right to meet the need. I suppose Jesus and his disciples were hungry LOL!
Also, Jesus did not rise from the dead on Sunday! It WAS SATURDAY !!!!!! Check out the original language in Mark 16:9! I just discovered this today! The Bible says he rose “first day of the week”. The word “first” is not the numerical number, they inserted the word “day” which wasn’t even there, for Sabbath they replaced the word “week”. I was hoppin mad. MORE LIES!!!! Just like Paul.....Jesus rose on the Sabbath day!!!! Praise God!!!

Risenshine703, thanks for your analysis. I agree that keeping the Sabbath would give glory to God. My only confusion is that Jesus confirmed the other commandments, but he never specifically said to keep the Sabbath. Jesus excused his own strict adherence to the Sabbath in order to do righteous works for the Father, which still is not disobedient, which seems to be part of your point. Certainly Sunday is not God's prescribed day of worship, so again, I agree with you on glorifying the Father.
Regarding Jesus rising on the first day of the week, perhaps you can clarify further for everyone here regarding the incorrect language you have discovered. Isn't Sunday the first day of the week in the Jewish calendar? The bible has two accounts of the timeline for the death and resurrection of Jesus. Matthew, Mark and Luke have Jesus dying on Friday and rising Sunday morning. John has Jesus dying Thursday and rising Sunday morning. I have never looked closely at the possibility that Jesus rose on the Sabbath, which sounds interesting.
Thank you again, and keep obeying, serving and glorifying The One True God and Jesus will be back for us soon.

@@hughwhitmore-author2031 Matthew, Luke and John doesn’t say Jesus rose on the first day, only that both Mary’s came early in the morning on the first, (heis) meaning one, day of the week. Mark does as well but adds this later on in verse 9. “Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.”
As stated prior, when you look up the words in the original language you will find that the word “first” (protos) used in Mark 16:9 means first in time, place or rank, chief principal, and it’s different than the one describing the day they came to the tomb. The word “day” isn’t even present. The word they used for “week” is actually Sabbath which it says is the seventh day of each week. They were not allowed to come on the Sabbath, so they came the next day, the first day (heis) of the week and found the tomb empty! Mark is the only account that it says the specific day he rose but they made the verse say the first day (heis) of the week lining up when everyone came even though Mark said (protos) Sabbath! Seems like he meant the principal Sabbath, first in rank Sabbath or chief Sabbath. Let me know what you think:)

@@risenshine7032, I haven't heard your analysis before, so I'm trying to understand it. Here is Mark 15:42, speaking of the day Jesus died: "Now when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath." What day are they speaking of? I have understood that in Matthew, Mark and Luke, Passover/Last Supper was on Thursday, Jesus was murdered on Friday, and was in the grave until the first day of the week, which is Sunday. The Jews count the day as starting at sundown and ending at sundown the next day. When Mark 15:42 says it is the day before the Sabbath, and they are speaking of the death of Jesus that happened the day after Passover, I assume they mean they are in the afternoon of Friday, which is the end of the day preceding the Sabbath.
Also, please explain where I can look up the wording on the word first and the translations from the Greek so I can follow along with you. Thanks.
I haven't made too much inquiry into the contradictions found in the bible as to time and place because the bible is a spiritual book and not a physical one. All of the spiritual instructions we need to fulfill God's plan of eternal salvation are available in the bible as it is written. However, if your analysis of Jesus raising on the Sabbath is correct, it is the 7th day of the week and 7 is God's holiest spiritual number, so it would get my attention.

@@hughwhitmore-author2031 Thank you, I appreciate your critiquing. To my understanding there was also during that week a feast day of the unleavened bread also a sabbath rest and a saturday sabbath as well. It’s been difficult to understand and I’m still working that part out because of the language and the next day beginning at evening etc. So maybe that’s where the confusion lies is the two “sabbaths”. One thing is certain, he did not die on a friday, the church knows this and is practicing a lie. I use the Blue Letter Bible to get the original Hebrew and Greek language, using I believe Strong’s concordance. There is a wealth of info. Nonetheless, the fact that Mark used an entirely different word to describe the day he rose from the day they visited the tomb has my attention.

Simply LW97 Holynpoly MBCC, May the Father empower you to get through this difficult and confusing time of year. Those of us who have committed to separating from the world and its secularization of the birth of the messiah are overwhelmed with the greed that replaces reverence in late December. You are not alone in your difficulty. I too suffer but I go along to maintain family ties. Often we suffer, and we think we are alone, but you did the right thing by reaching out. We have a family of God in each other here, and you can always ask me questions or post your concerns. I am lonely at times in the pursuit of the Father and the son, and I live for the kindness that you and others bring to me here, so thank you for that.
One last thing: When we are down, or when depression sets in, we can get weak and waver from our promises to the Father. It is good to make your problems known because God is what matters and His reward is much greater than the fleeting happiness in this world. God needs you and He is rejoicing over your soul.

Do you live completely alone and apart from any friends or family relationships? Do you keep a job and get along with your coworkers? Also, you have no knowledge of how far I have isolated myself from people I could be relating to, but I don't. I am mostly alone in this world because of my commitment to God, but not completely, thus I make some compromises. I've gone as far as I can in the area of relationships, and otherwise I have committed a huge amount of my life to serving God, and helping others serve God. My point is that we all should do as much as we can, but we live in an imperfect world.

Nils Whitewater Weber, that's one of my sins as well, so thank you for opening up. It's best when we admit our sins between brothers and sisters in Christ. I used to swear when I was younger, before I became a committed believer in The One True God. I gave up the sin of swearing because it is attached to anger, which is another sin area of mine. I do a good job of not swearing in public, but I still swear sometimes when I am alone and angry at something, or occasionally in the car in front of my wife when another driver puts me in danger.
It would be good to get the urge to swear out of my system completely, and I am working on it. Perhaps we should challenge each other right now to improve on this area, so that God can be more greatly glorified. Thanks.

    Hi there Hugh.
    Hope you are well.
Ive been thinking about 2 things lately.
Is man Gods main enemy or is satan because God seems to be battling and dealing with humans more than he does with satan.
    The other thing is how
God used to be here on the earth with us but it seems that over time, God has withdrawn from thw earth. Did he choose to, did he need to or was he forced to?
Do you have any thoughts on these?

    • @hughwhitmore-author2031
      @hughwhitmore-author2031  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Izera Stephen! Nice to hear from you. Thanks for checking in. In a certain way you are right about God's enemy being man, because God can't fight Satan directly. The battle for God's kingdom is between the followers of God and the followers of Satan. Satan is glorified by his followers and God is glorified by His elect. The book of Revelation is the story of God finally being fully glorified, which empowers Him to overcome Satan. Thus God turns to man over and over to give Him glory by returning the love that He gives us by breathing life into us, yet man rejects God over and over. Even knowing this, God does not punish us directly. If we don't glorify the Father, He just can't protect us from Satan, so Satan is pleased to ruin us.
Continuing with your second point, God withdrew from the earth because put all of His energy into Israel, and Israel not only broke God's heart, they left Him miserable and unfulfilled in His quest to fulfill salvation. The Old Testament is the story of God slowly but surely withdrawing from the earth because the power and glory of Satan in this realm ended up making it impossible for God to visit any longer.
God sent Jesus to give man one last chance to glorify God and return the kingdom. The glory given to God was so great at the time of Jesus that God was able to make a visit to say "this is my beloved son with whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 17:5) God then withdrew to heaven to await His glorification so that He can kick Satan out of heaven and then destroy the earth. Thus, God still awaits the love of mankind as He suffers for our failures.
You appear to be involved in deep thinking, and deep thinking often leads to the full realization of the misery of existence on the earth. This misery is good to be aware of, but we don't have time to dwell on it. Stand proud as one of God's elect, turn joyously to the kingdom teachings God sent with the messiah, and using the sacrificial love that we learned from Jesus God will be glorified, Satan will be bound, and we can then go to live in a beautiful eternity in our spiritual bodies with our loving Father and His son.

Deutscher Patriot, the dietary laws are not in effect in the salvation that God sent with Jesus. Jesus said in Matthew 15:11: "Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.” Food is no longer clean or unclean. Jesus is hoping for a clean heart.
