The 17lbr shouldn't have been able to deploy in the forrest. Artillery cannot move into dense terrain (though they can start the game in dense terrain, though if they do, they cannot move) page 47 of the rulebook
Bolt Action 2nd edition errata changes that to 'artillery can move into and out of dense terrain but only with Run order, and in doing so they halve their normal Run movement' - In other words artillery can Run into and out of Dense but only at rate of 3" per Order
Love this list Johnny, I've run something very similar. That Churchill is the best heavy tank in the game for 1000 points. The 17 pounder is an interesting choice, can't wait to see what you do with it.
Poor Jonny, what atrocious dice. Dismissing point blank panzerfausts as just psychological weapons though, it's just tempting the dice gods! Great play from both players, but with Mordian Tim sandwiched between a ARV Churchill and a 17 pounder and still managing to knock both out, what an absolute BA masterclass. And then Jonny pulling it back to a draw, what a Fantastic game. Really appreciate these as 40k is the bread and butter of the channel.
I like my Volks Grenadiers but I am starting to enjoy my little WTF units in my twin 8-10 man Sturmpionieres with a few SMG's, a flamethrower, and a GrB-39 Grenade Launcher. People sort of do not know it is a dual threat weapon the GrB-39 as you can use it as a light mortar against infantry and weapons teams and then a light Panzerschrek with a +3 pen and 24 inch range, you also can use it as a super sniper shot if the chance is there. Only thing is it is sort of cost prohibited at 30 points.
You still roll when you fubar. If no enemy around you go down on 1 or 2. Losing all pins from CQB is first edition. Last man artillery is -1 morale. Great looking army and board.
Warlord game FAQ for the AVRE is that it can only shoot at short range, so max target range of 36" Could you clarify how the AVRE mortar is used? I am not clear about the long distance in indirect fire. The Petard mortar can only be fired at targets within short range, that is within 36", so it cannot be fired indirectly at all.
Nice game! Always nice to see some bolt action! One question tho, i believe that the mortar would only cause one pin when firing on the tank, or have i read my manual wrong?

I was just writing the same thing but saw that you had mentioned it.

For the artillery phase, should he have rolled 2 dice a picked the highest result for each target as per the British artillery rules?

Lol salty Johnny 😅

No it is strictly a direct fire weapon.
yeah that entire bottom part was quoting from the FAQ, direct fire only max 36 inch :)
If only I didn't have to build and paint 'em would play this game
I'd be willing to paint you an army! We would just have to agree on a price...
Nice game! Always nice to see some bolt action!

No, it's the same as infantry. HE is amazing against tanks.
Awesome video!
I need to buy the British, they look cool man?
Have you a favorite Army, when playing Bolt Action?
Are the british the 8th Army?
Unless you can show a ruling from a tournament about the tank shooting long range, without taking a penalty...I think you are playing it wrong.
Great Bolt Action content.
Great game!
