    I finally got it! Thank you so much for this video. I tried one yesterday that made it look easy, but I wound up very frustrated. The way you demonstrate and explain it makes it so much easier to understand!

      @@FunEndeavors Do you ever use the dye from Grateful Dyes and make it in a liquid form like tulip dyes

    • @FunEndeavors
      @FunEndeavors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@janetdenning6254 Yes, I buy from Dharma Trading Company, Custom Colours, Grateful Dyes and Prochemical and Dye and I use all my dyes in both powder and liquid form. I just got in a new order from them last month and so I ordered a few colors that I haven't tried before. I ordered seashell blue, true purple, true violet, marine blue and crappy scrappy mix. One of my favorites from Grateful Dyes is royal purple. It is such a pretty shade both as a liquid and ice dye.

    can you do a video on the differences of liquid dying and ice dying? I tried tye dying when i was a lot younger and had no clue what i was doing. now you're getting me interested to try again

    Maybe I'm doing this COMPLETELY wrong, but I don't bother marking the shirt. I pull one sleeve into the other and align the seams as you showed. I also align the shoulder seams. Then I just lift the shirt by the sleeves and the collar (simple, since I just aligned those seams) and give it a sharp snap or two. Everything seems to fall into place and I can just lay the shirt flat (already folded with front and back separate). I hope my description makes sense. For those reading, maybe try both ways and see which you prefer.

      It makes complete sense. Most of the time I don't need to use the marks that I made on the shirt either. However, every now and then I've had a wacky shirt and had to use them to get it lined up properly. For the sake of this video, I showed how you would use them.

    Thank you for this. I've been tie dying for YEARS, but, I want to be able to teach my kiddos when we start our week long tie dye project this month, how to tie dye at home, and still get professional(a.k.a.; store bought) looking results, and you're helping SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! Thank you, AGAIN!!!😘🤟👍

    Thank you for this!!! 🥰 You do mostly ice dye, which is amazing! I’m just a beginner. Could you please do more liquid tutorials so us newbies can work along with you? I promise I’ll “like” all of them. 😊

      You are welcome! I actually have a lot of liquid dye tutorials. If they don't specifically say that they are ice dye in the title, they are usually liquid dye. I like to mix it up and do both - ha!

      Fun Endeavors I’m loving all the learning I’m doing from watching you. You really inspire me. I’m on my 7th shirt. Some have turned out pretty brown. I’m learning. I’ve ordered all the dyes I can from Dharma, with Covid the supply is limited. I’m having so much fun! Watching a white t shirt turn rainbow is amazing!! ❤️

      @@stephanieross5183 Thank you so much! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos and learning a lot. I agree - it's fun to watch a white shirt turn into something amazing!
      I have a couple tips that might help with the brown on your shirt. You probably already know these, but just in case - here goes. If you are liquid dyeing, the brown you're getting on your shirts might be from secondary colors mixing. For example purple and orange, green and orange, etc... I usually try to keep the colors that don't blend well pretty far apart on a shirt or put a color in between them that blends well with both of them. Like blue in between green and purple.
      Another tip is - when you make a spiral, don't put too much dye in the center of the spiral. I usually barely run my dye through the center. If too much of the dye mixes in the center of the spiral it will make it dark or muddy the colors. This is especially true when you are making a rainbow spiral where the secondary colors will mix in the center.
      I really like Dharma for dye too, but you're right they're out of quite a few colors. I've noticed they are slowly getting them back in stock though.

      Fun Endeavors As I’m learning everything you just said makes complete sense! TY for helping us. We are here to see someone with knowledge, experience. It feels like tie dye is locked down and nobody wants to share the techniques. I appreciate you very much! Keep the videos coming. We’re watching. 🧐

      I should also say I ordered before I had any clue what I was doing and Carmen at Dharma helped me tremendously. How to mix urea and soda ash. All the stuff new people don’t understand. I was CLUELESS!

    can you put t in the dryer for a few minutes to make it barely damp. or spin cycle of washer or do you need Panda Spin Dryer?

    • @FunEndeavors
      @FunEndeavors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't put it in the dryer. You can either hand wring the shirt or you can put it in your washing machine on the spin cycle as long as your washer doesn't add water. If your washer adds water during the spin cycle, it will rinse out your soda ash and the dye will not bond to the fabric.

    75% of the time when I center a shirt I get this stubborn meandering inside crease at the center fold 🙄 Hopefully this tutorial will save ya some time explaining it to everyone 🙂 OT - I finally finished my latest batch of shirts including my first two ice dyes. They are on my fb page.
