    You just gave me the motivation to finally become the guide I want to, and know that I can be. Thank you for posting this video! If you ever want to go on a free salmon or steelhead trip in the Olympic peninsula, let me know!!

    Good story Scott. The fact that you don't need a lic for land-based guide is pretty cool. In NY I had to get multiple certificates in order to take the test and become a guide. Not to mention the fees. I'm glad that it has been working out for you so well.

    It was an ABSOLUTE pleasure to fish with you when I came down to the Florida Keys and to Miami. You put me on a few decent Peacock Bass and even jumped a MONSTER Largemouth Bass. You did make the experience a really enjoyable one at that and taught me some new things about fishing. Continue the great work.

    Good video idea. You seem pretty quiet and soft spoken like I am so its cool to hear you drop the story like this. Glad I found your channel this year. Can't wait to see what you have in store! Hopefully I can make it down to Miami some time. I would love to book a session with you if at all possible.

    Good job Scott! Great story with great info...when you have a job you enjoy...you are blessed.
    That don’t mean it’s easy...I had the opportunity to guide and got payed and was unable to produce for my clients...lesson learned!

      Bob Fournier u should have never started guiding if you weren’t 100% positive in your mind, that you were going to be putting people on fish!

    you forgot that I went out with you that Feb and landed a 7lb peacock on my first cast and you were destined to guide right after that!

    I thought about this just today, I want to become a kayak fishing guide, but of course safety comes first, and a kayak fishing guide has a lot of responsibilities, because people drowned and can get killed so it's no joke.
    Of course you can't just fish and have a good time
    if you're bringing people on the water.
    Your mistake or mis watch can be there death,
    So I understand that it's very dangerous and that you have lots of responsibilities, but it's amazing that you don't need a license to guide people, but if you want to be regular how do you make them pay for a trip without insurance or any legal obligations?

    Interesting video. I thought you needed an OUPV (6 pack) USCG Captains license to guide?

    • @ScottRoseFishing
      @ScottRoseFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By boat yes. Not by land. The moment I switched to boat based guiding I had my 6 pack ready
