As a light tank enjoyer i would argue that there are more people playing lights now than ever before. Cvs should only be possible to buy on lights. The biggest issue as a light is that there are so many meds with great camo and view range combine, the class identity have been lost as view range/camo isn't their specialty anymore. An example: K-91 can get 43% camo on the move and 51.70 stationary with 525m view range while using cvs. It still has 3.4k dpm base with good pen and armor, a top speed at 55 with 19.60 power to weight. Rheinmetall Panzerwagen can get 46.29% moving and stationary with 526m view range. It has less dpm, hp, armor and pen. A top speed of 75 with 43.65 power to weight. The advantage of the rhm is top speed and power to weight, such is the case for a fair amount of meds. 2 lights max is a necessity, when more than 2 is in a game it becomes a fight vs your own lights. I honestly think view range and camo needs to be looked at for all classes to give lights their identity back.
Hey thanks for the great feedback! I agree, there’s definitely more people playing them. Although I think the interesting part would be knowing what light tanks are they actually playing? Great example as well. The new K91 & BC25T buffs will only widen that medium vs Light tank gap and further blur the lines of classes. It’s just much less worth it to play lights now days. Couldn’t have said it better. “Lights have lost their identity”
I agree totally as Ilove to play light tanks, but to me the range whre you can operate no matter what liht tank has reduced for the things you mentioned, but the main problem in my opinion is that actually the maps with the bonds and new equipmets has gone too small. In open maps less than a 20 seconds both teams are seen and the first one take the punch are slow heavies if there artillery in the game and your Maus experience is just there... This is also why you se the same tanks over and over again in Clan battles... You just can't take there some the tanks at all.
I just today wasn't actually in this case playing with a light tank, but to demostrate the difference on speed and agility, I caught a lone JGPZE 100 with my T55A, and that tank isn't even the fastest at all... but a slow tank has no chanche at all not even a heavy tank and then it is just this slow dancing around and slow death and there is nothing to do about it... Those Grand Battle maps give more opportunities to all tanks. These maps are just too small anymore for tier X... you can desagree but I don't give a flying ef...
Bourrasque is for example excellent MD but it goes as fast and sometime faster than LT and this is disapointing to play LT and be slower, equaly concealed with way lesser fire power... This is frustrating
just remove light tanks from the game altogether. Like artillery, light tanks are extremely loathsome support tanks which are inherently toxic when they do their job. Like artillery, light tanks also offer class defining, broken mechanics other classes do not have as well. The problem with support tanks, is it detracts from combat and flow of the game. lnstead of combat, they cloud the game with shitty force-multiplication that in many instances, isnt skill based at the slightest. For this reason, light tanks are 2nd on the list of classes getting major tier wide nerf patches. Only class above them, is of course arta, surprise surprise, the king of support and sitting down on your ass doing nothing but getting something. WoT should just remove all light tanks and artillery, and the game immediately improves 1,000x. Better yet - what WG can do, to ensure the tanks stay in the game, is change their class. Buff arta HP, VR, ammunition, dispersion and they become high explosive tank destroyers like Hetzer or SU152 Buff light tanks HP, remove their on the move camo, and make them medium tanks. Essentially becoming glass cannon mediums like bourratt, lorraine, standard B This not only improves, radically game health, but also improves spotting skill which is a good thing. Spotting should involve more risk.
@@demetrioshristovski4518ur opinion about light and comparison with artillery is the most hilarious BS I've seen in a long time xD. Lights as a class are not toxic at all. Except for they are so hard to play that it can feel toxic for the light player. Overall they are not OP in any way, cuz they are bad at everything mostly except for stealth, spotting and mobility, providing a team with eyes, which is absolutely necessary for game balance. Every team needs a spotter, whether it be lights or meds in order to prevent stalemates. YES, there are toxic/broken lights but you can narrow them down to EBR, ELC even 90 and manticore. But manticore is still somewhat balanced due to its lack of firepower. Before having an outlandish and unfunded opinion about lights, you should become a pro light tank pool player first. All you have shown is a lack of game knowledge, not knowing how lights work, for if you did, you would know lights are the weakest class in game, usually never broken, only rewarding for players who can abuse stealth etc. That is how it should be. Instead the heavy tank meta is toxic as fuck. Because of the increased mobility (Turbo charger and field mods) and HP pool, neither mediums nor TDs or anything else can stop the heavy tank meta. Combine that shit with corridor maps and all other tank classes except heavy tanks are royally fucked. That my friend, is proper game knowledge.
I think CVS should become a Base stat of every light tank starting from t7, like t7 only a little and t 10 what we have now. Its hard playing a t6 or t7 light against a t8 light with CVS.
I also thought about this. A T7 LT cannot have CVS while mediums at T8 can. Good luck meeting a Bourrasque with CVS, Low noise exhaust and coated optics.
I stopped playing WOT. When my LTTB was spotted by a medium tank, when I couldn’t spot him. The medium was on the move. My LTTB was in a bush, with a crew trained in camo, with a camo net, and camo paint.
the camo net speaks for that you dont are a good wot player. Optics are way more usefull than a camo net what only works wen you are standing still for a long time. Also crew skills are very improtant.
The LT daily mission "Spot 3" is very toxic with multi LT teams. Forces you to play against your own team, and paired with a quicker LT, many times forces you to do suicide runs into enemy lines.
I have almost stopped playing on PC as I was enjoying it less and less but still play on console. There is almost the same problem there. I like playing lights and TD's but find my best tank for spotting is actually a TD and so I have set up two to be spotters as the lights usually die fast these days due to a lack of passive spotting and them charging around trying to get direct damage for themselves. I've been in matches where the lights die after getting 800 - 2000 damage but almost no assist whereas I finish the game (alive or dead) with up to 8k assist. The other problem was like you mentioned and is the same on console in that I played a T9 light one day and for eleven straight games I was on small maps where I was immediately negated as a light. No use to anyone and really no fun at all. Seems that no matter which platform you play, the problems are the same. The only tanks I play on PC now are the Matilda and ELC bis.
8. Since 9.18, some lights feel like light meds. A bit like Cromwell. A lot of things play pretty much the same as a maneuverable medium. Lights like the WZ-132-1/A just seem like bad meds.
1. I think CVS should just be flat out removed from the game entirely, adding another mandatory piece of equipment to the game just ruins player choice and reduces versatile builds. There's already 2 pieces that are essentially mandatory (optics and exhaust) but even those can be somewhat replaced depending on the the players play styles. CVS on the other hand, cannot be replaced due to it's mechanics. 2. Almost all the lights need to be rebalanced with the ELC in mind. The ELC is an absolute menace to society purely because of its tiny size, giving it the ability hide in the dumbest spots. This is already "sort of" done because the ELC has poor view range compared to other lights. 3. I completely agree that we need more maps, WG needs to revive old maps. And whatever happened to those recon maps?? Some of them were incredibly fun, but WG never implemented them.
I was a huge LT fan until the arty nerf as far forward spotting was near impossible and I just felt like a bait tank with the supporting tanks spotting for them selves. After that I moved to fast mediums, same spotting capacity, more firepower. Only LT I play is AMX 15 57 as i do not need to lose a slot to CVS and can focus on damage more.
I even need to put optics, cvs and exhaust on my lights to be competitive. I came back to the game and was shocked how often i got spotted by still playing like years ago in lights. Totally different these days. But so far and i never thought of - making the CVS an light exclusive is an excellent idea. But my biggest problem with lights nowadays is the MM - i usually get 2-3 lights on top in my team. So you dont even compete against the enemy light, but also against 3 others in your own team.
I agree with your suggestions for light tanks, especially mirror matching (which should be standard for all tanks; i mean 279e vs 50b (e.g.)). However, there are many ways to improve the current game and most are known by WG but they simply don't care or are to inapt. The community called for older maps for years to no avail. Since the HD update it's just a shell of a game (coupled with some very questionable premiums- / other "improvements"). Unfortunately, it looks like we will only be able to confirm the death of this game now (considering all the "efforts" - or lack thereof - they put in in the last few years). It's sad...
As a LT main, I agree, there's really no reason to play any of the LT lines when my Borr has everything an LT does, plus great burst damage. The map this is huge, there are so many that I miss.
One of my worst "fears" is when I play tier 7 light (CVS is not an option) and come up against Bourrasque which might have CVS and at the same time often better camo (ca 52% stationary and ca 43% moving) and view range (494m). It sure makes the game interesting (read terrifying) and not at all boring, but fair...maybe not...making my t7 LT obsolete is absolutely the right word in this context.
I never thought about removing CVS from medium tanks, that's a fantastic point. I heard someone point out the fact that improved hardening increases the track health. I think this piece of equipment shouldn't do that as it makes it incredibly difficult for low alpha damage tanks like light tanks to be able to take the tracks off heavy tanks even with multiple shots. Maybe WG should remove that feature as it might make tracking and circling more of an opportunity again for light tanks to be able to outplay the classes. I'd even say that turbo and improved hardening are mandatory on most heavies and I reckon without them, we'd have longer battles because people would take longer to get into positions. I miss maps like swamp and the old erlenberg as I feel like all classes had a fair chance on those maps. I also miss the climbing aspect of WoT which made the game more interesting and unpredictable.
I think that was MaxGamingFPS who said that about hardening! (Just watched that video like 2 days ago lmao) - But it’s truly a great point. I don’t bother shooting tracks anymore, unless I know I can get two shots in or I am in an autoloader. Would be nice to see that hardening buff reduced/removed. But yeah, when turbo entered the game it did speed up everything. Some tanks needed it… while others really didn’t (flashbacks to 3 X IS7 platoon)
When I play LTs I lose more games than usual and most maps arent designed for good, decent spotting, lts have bad pen, low damage and dont impact the game in an important way most of the times, the only 3 maps where I pay attention to lts are prokorovka, malinovka and west field and maybe red shire. I have had better spotting games with better damage while playing mediums. The game doesnt reward the player well enough for playing light tanks.
It doesn't matter what WG does, people are going to complain anyway. You have people who complain about arty, because they don't play them and therefore don't know how to get "arty safe." There are people who think light tanks should be removed, because they don't play them. Guys that play mostly heavy tanks want TD's removed or nerfed because of their high alpha guns! I say play all of the different types of tanks and you'll be more adept at beating them. I'm 70 years old and never played an online game in my life until I downloaded WOT 5 years ago. I have a free to play account and haven't spent a dime on this game, yet WG tells me I'm better than 85% of players on the NA server! So, just learn to get good with the tanks you have and only acquire those that match your playstyle! The main thing is, LIFE IS SHORT SO HAVE FUN WHILE YOU'RE STILL ON THIS SIDE OF THE DIRT!
I've been thinking about CVS in mediums for a few months now as I started to really get into mediums. Always made me wonder why I would bring a light. What an awesome battle with the HWK30 in the end
CVS, Optics, Vents on all my light tanks in spotting config... what i do not like the most, is simply the maps... no places for spotting on 2/3 of the current map pool
1 month ago i started playing wot again after a break of over 6 years. i only played 10k battles so im not that experienced, but i think i got the hang of the game quite alright with 2,3k wn8 back then. ive done about 500-600 games since i joined again and im quite shocked about the change in meta and all those "powercreep" tanks that joined the game. i got a lot of the old premiums ( and none of the modern ones obviously ) and i just feel so outdated. if i keep looking at the stats of these tanks, obviosuly you always need a good player to handle them, these tanks are straight up better then the old ones - some are even that good that you dont even want to play a tech-tree Line. Especialy the bourrasque is insanely annoying. The ELC to. paired with the modern Map design they just accelerate into space. i really miss so many of the old maps, there were a lot of beautiful maps that allowed, especially someone like me that loves fast mediums, to reposition and flank - this just feels gone. Most of the Maps are straight up corridors. All these annoying corridor maps also pair with my personal experience how many games get lost within the first 3-4 Minutes, this didnt happen so often at all back then - it really annoys me how regular this is now - it just often feels like i cant even put my tank to use until the battle is over again. it totally insane how often one side of the map gets overrun and just straight drives you down and kill you from behind because there are basically just 2 corridors on the map. Having stealthy meds with cvs on top ( why should they even be able to use this, just give it to the light tanks ffs ) often make it impossible to react to 1 side beeing lost since you cant move at all without getting spotted. Advancing often feels like wasting yourself. i dont know maybe its just me because im in my 30s now but this game feels so insanely different now, but mostly in a bad way. i mean its still fun to play and obviously you need some time after a 6 year break but i think you dont need thousands of games to notice some really bad changes. great video btw :)
Like you I was away for many years after playing the game for the first 2-3 years after release. I followed the game from the sideline from time to time watching streamers like Skill and others. I started playing again maybe two years ago. Omg how much the game have changed. Back in the days I used to play mostly light tanks and fast mediums and I used to own one premium tank (had two at one time). Now there are so many meta tanks...before they get nerfed for making room for new meta tanks...repeats indefinitely. CVS was also new but I understood that I was a must whenever there was more than three bushes on the map. Food was new also a must. Bounty, improved and experimental equipment was new...talk about complicating the game. Field modification was new....were there usually is one correct configuration most use which tells me it should be part of the tank from the get go or dropped all the same. The point is for us to grind and grind, and preferably transaction gold by more boosters, more premiums, convert as all is just about earning more money. That's the biggest problem with the game imo, Wargaming is greedy and therefor pushing the game in whatever direction earns them the most money. Still I have fun but it costs me a fortune to be able to play how I want to play.
You vastly underestimate the negative effect some of your ideas would have on queue times, especially limiting the number of lights, or any class for that matter, the queue would get progressively more and more backlogged, resulting in timeouts. The reason that this worked for arty is due to the fact that their numbers already almost matched the proposed limits, and as they tend to be the last to die in a battle, unlike lights, their battle turn around was also more predictable, thus it was a minor MM shuffle that gave WG some good PR for looking like they were doing something to limit arty when in fact they weren't.
In my humble opinion the equipment system should be reworked. Now it's not a choice, it's must to have cvs + low noise exhaust + coapted optics loadout. Each equipment should give a buff and a nerf.
This week was crazy for me. Played an LT and was matched in games where there was 6 to 8 LTs in total😮. And for the whole day I played on same side on all maps.
Remove vision slot from mediums and reduce CVS FROM then also give lights a higher max vr maybe 480. Also remove cvs from wheelies so the 105 doesn’t have max vr with all its other benefits
New sucriber here, good reasoning video. As an old WOTB player i do learn to adapt to everchanging battlefield and meta. Removing CVS from meds it's a must, personally i run CVS at all meds. Light player needs to focus at situations and attack only if it's needed or worth the risk, measuring what reds have and where they are. For me there isn't another way. Bourrasques and ELC even are my nemesis anyway. Whem i do manage to counter them it's a better game for all.
I died about 3/4 of the way through a match on malinovka we won field and pushed to enemy cap, enemy heavies fell back from hill and killed all but our bourasque which was useless the entire time camped in a bush right by the water with enemy tds pushed so close they were almost touching him, at this point he was alone, i watched an elc look for him for 2 minutes and passed by certainly closer than 50m many times. The bourasque is a better light than any tank in the game.
Basically all classes are obsolete. TD:s with turrets and better armour than Heavies, Mediums faster than lights, Heavies with absolutely no benefits, Lights that deals way more damage than mediums, Mediums that are better spotters than lights, etc, etc. Also, we should be able to ban a lot more maps. There are a crazy amount of maps. Also we need better matchmaking and nerfs to some crazy op tanks, like the BZ, The Bourrasque and the ELC.
Really well done. In general the points you made but especially the maps. What ruins light gameplay even more are the new autocannon lights.... they break the gameplay again a lot in a different way and it will be hard to really balance this in for the general lights (it's annoying meeting them even in meds, meeting them in lights really is bad....) but some of the 1.0 maps you pointed out would really help lights. But they still would need to be revamped because the gameplay with all the new tanks you mentioned (super fast meds, rocket tanks, etc) has changed a lot since we last played them :D
Elc Even 90 needs a real fat nerf. Matchmaker should be balanced. The problem with lighttank is also that one team gets a green and a purple light and the other gets a red and a orange light. This is also the problem, that I'm have grind on my mediumtanks fieldmods, to be able, to have a alternate equipment for spotting.
THAT'S THE LEAST OF THE PROBLEM. 1. BOGUS RNG SINCE DISPERSION GROUPING CHANGE, 2. RIGGED MM WITH CLEAR LOSER AND WINNER TEAM FROM THE BEGINNING TO SHORTEN THE BATTLE TIME, TO INCREASE THE REVENUE, 3. MUNDANE MAP LOTATION WITH LIMITED ACCESS TO ALL CORNERS OF MAPS, ARE THE PROBLEM WITH THIS GAME.
I aslo stop playing Wot around januar this year. And not the light tank or the cvs or the op prem tank. The problem with the lights is that the WG cannot decide what the lights actually are. Scouts, support tanks, snipers? Until WG says this, it will only be splicing and folding, not a real solution. The game itself become frustrating mainly the good player overpay. I'm an average (maybe silgtly better than average (WN8 1430) player) and i have very limited time to play. With premium account I'm unable to play higher than tier8. Simply because play one tier 9-10 battle my performance not enough to play the silver bill. That means i play one tier 10 battle (4-8 min) and -80-140k silver to pay equal to play 4-5 tier 8 battle for a premium tier 8 tank (at least 20-40 min). I refuse to do that, too time consuming. As a result, I don't have a lot of bond or purple equipment, which means that the better players have a huge advantage in this area, which I simply can't bring in in any way. The MM and the compensation system haven't changed in 15 years, while the cost of battles/tanks has gone up a lot (35-100k xp for field mods, 30-80k for gold ammo, spec equipment). I want to play, not a second job. The WG is not familiar with the meaning of the concept of balancing, for example in the new skills there is a skill that gives +10% ammunition speed, which makes tanks with high ammunition speed easier to play (thus stronger in the meta), while tanks with low ammunition speed it only helps minimally, that is, what has been playable so far is much better, in contrast to the tanks that have been more difficult to play so far. In other words, they continue to destroy the balance. Many people including you in this video are complaining about OP premium tanks, what they don't understand is that they don't break the balance at all, they ONLY remove certain tanks from playable tanks (as if those tanks aren't even in the game this include some permiums also) all the way to WG it does not choose not to reconfirm them if they become playable again due to certain parameters. In this form, it's not balancing (the game will never be balanced), but packing between playable and non-playable tanks. Like what they did with the amx m4/45 Emil II line, in top meta for years, then it got nerfed to the point of yellow ground, it had to be buffed twice to be somewhat playable. The basic gameplay flaws in the game were never fixed EVEN they didn't even think about fixing them. For example, the basic error of +-2 mm means you can't pit a 600 hp tank against a 2300 hp tank when the latter can shoot the former with a single hit, while even 10 shots are not enough for a tank with a smaller tier, this is simply pointless. But the same can be said for the scouting/camouflage pairing, why would someone send a weakly armored scout into a small urban field against a terribly large tdk. I think three pieces of equipment should be limited/eliminated. Optics - can only be used on light tanks (it would give the light a real task, which would be compensated by the CVS on the heavy and medium tanks) Any form of TURBO - heavy's could not be in any form. Any Durability device - I would take out of it the one that increases the health of the track, but since it is pointless, I would distribute the remaining abilities between the two survival equipment The durability device makes many tanks unstoppable as it is impossible to take down the tracks (especially heavy tanks and tds) with one shot because not enough alpha damage. Sincerely, McFeet
Speed wise no. But the physics in the game tell me otherwise. That's what's not realistic. The gravity seems way of like we are running tanks on the moon or something. I served for years on Leopard 1 back in the days. It good do 70 km/h max on a good day but tracks did not fell of exactly except for one time when it did ;-) I have been able to get both tracks clear from the ground with a jump once. I even have a picture to prove it. The tanks is usually pretty much glued to the ground IRL and not looking like cardbox containers like in WOT. But as U say it sure is fun.
@@johnmoe2806 I ran around in Sheridan and M-60s back in the real US Army (I'm the same as you, just another old guy). The moving while shooting is also something new to me. Back in my day the M1 was the XM1 and got it's air filters clogged. In-game I'm a terror to the Bots but I just do OK when it's all human players and I am filling the 9 skills of my second (full) commander. Fav tanks currently are King Dragon for the silver boost and the Pz 38H for the commander training boost. Thanks for the comment and hope to see you in-game to follow you in sometime. Same in game name "SmellySumtom" (I play from Thailand, a cheap place to retire).
Yes, this is the problem with light tanks. But, there is another category in this game, which WG has humiliated for many years and they don't even take out other lines for other nations. Artillery
I 100% feel that. - What would you think if CVS was just given to all light tanks? Tier 6 & 7 lights could have their CVS “turned on” when facing tier 8’s and above, and have it turned off when facing same tier and below, so as to not be broken I love my lower tier lights but it seems like hopeless venture when you continually get outs-potted by high tier meds using CVS… lol
I can see the new T8 czech light premium to be a counter to elc. 50mm HE pen and 1600 clip dmg IIRC. May not be better at scout/spot, but will be able to clip it with ease
I think they should nerf ebrs to how wot console is when they go into rapid mode thier accuracy gets significantly worse and when you damaged the wheels you get assistance damage if your teammates shoot it. They rly are not very good on console because of those 2 things.
I feel like there is not just CVS as locked in slot, I only use optics, low noise and cvs, as this combination gives me the most out of this role and there is no equipment which can compete in my opinion, so basically I dont even need to think about equipment anymore since low noise and cvs are in the game, on spotting light tanks of course, but in that matter I ffeel really sorry when I take my derp T 49 for a spin as its troll paper "medium" tank and I am putting my team in dissadvantage for not having a capable light...
Agreed. That’s my go to config as well. - I’ve also been trying to 3 mark my T49 for awhile now. And your right, you feel like a fool when the map requires you to be a “True Light Tank”
I use CVS, Vents and Exhaust as my secondary setup on my Borat and UDES 14-5. The only light tank I would consider playing at tier 8 is the ELC Even 90, the others are pretty much useless. The Borat is just as good for spotting. The only true light tanks I play now is the EBR 105 and the Manticore.
While not wrong about the even 90 there are so many bad even 90 players it feels like it balances out. As a LT player maps where a LT is critical like prok getting a bad scout is almost an instaloss.
WG hates LTs. All they do is add things that diminish your ability. Bush removal, that now has created a few areas that players all know about. So if a player is smart they are blind firing these bushes. And removal of other spotting locations. Hit direction indicators. Doesn't matter if you use camo mechanics to fire. The hit direction indicator will tell the player where you are and where to fire. So you pretty much have to gun and run, even if not spotted. It's at the point a MT is better to make a hybrid LT, than it is to play a LT. I'll just avoid the wheeled ebola. WG was killing LTs long before this equipment got added. This is just one more nail in the coffin.
“Decline of dedicated light tank players” WHIRLS has entered the chat 😊 Great video man. The Even 90s are everywhere. The maps are almost all brawling maps. Mediums should not be able to run CVS.
Remove CVS entirely Put to all lights the CVS passive For recon lights you give the CVS passive bonus slot Versatile keep the normal passive Wheeled lights don't get the passive Mediums don't get the passive
@@anknjv9211 Tbh I love this idea. I’ve also been thinking of this same idea for a couple weeks now. But It only occurred to me after I put out this video tho lol. Glad you shared bc it shows it’s probably an ideal and intuitive solution towards making lights more unique. It would also free up the equipment a lot for Improved Radio set or Rammer, etc.
*Fixing Light Tanks:* Increase to light tank crew injury due to environmental collisions. Hitting a tree at 50 MPH or a brick wall, in a light tank, it's not a balancing issue, it's a get real issue that needs to just "get real".
I am sorry to make this opposite comment of your claim and I can be wrong, but I don't think so. The problem is not with the light tanks but is has been for years now about the difference on the spotting range, the camo and the rendering range in which others can spot for others in the radio range. Now after thes bond EQ and experimental ones + all the incerecing crew exp for players the maps have shrinken. This is the only real problem. Forget Ferrari and and other excuses. The maps are too small and for that same reasons battles are getting shorter in lenght( Time ). Also all kind of tanks had getting faster and EBR is the only one which was almost destroyed by the one and only 'WoT Puritans' who oppose everything and think we are still in year 2010 or so... WHATTA HELL??? I HAVE TO BE A BIT BRUTAL HERE, BUT THE FACT IS THAT THOSE WHO WERE PERFORMING ALWAYS WELL IN THE BEGINNING AS THEY WERE MORE EXPERIENCED AND NOT NESSASARILY ANYTHING SPECIAL, dont like the rise of new generations of players and the fact that Wargaming in this current system won't give you endlessly lead. You got it when you started this game. I am now a quite experinced player myself but I had hard start as I didn't even had an own home let alone money but I was given an old cell phone and a moderate computer and I started to play this game and as my connection was so bad and slow, it sometimes spoiled my whole game. But after I fought about my rights I got straighten my life and income and in year I doubled my WIN8 and it has risen every single day and now it doesn't matter who comes in front of my tank... they can be even unicums with personal rating over 10000, but if they are not careful, they are dead. I HAVE KILLED EVERY SINGLE TH-camR I KNOW WHO HAS ENCOUNTERED ME, EVEN THE UNICUMS AND MULTIPLE TIMES AND ONLY ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO KILL ME ONCE, LATE SIR FOCH, ON THAT OLD REMOVED 'Golden Beach' map... And as effective and reasonable this side wanking can be, in close distance if the other one has the hit points, you just don't have to care a shit about it. And even in open territory with like B-C 25 t you just go around and kill the HULKdown beast like Karnvagen go for another one... Latest unfortunate one was IUOUXIN, and as irritable he is , sorry for that, he is a very good PLAYER AND EVEN A BIT SNEAKY ONE, BUT EVEN THAT WON'T ALWAYS WORK. My best friend who I play with sometimes this game warns me that don't 'pop a wheel'... a very good advise to all...
The power creep was already out of control years ago, before all the new equipment came along. CVS, is an absolute joke. Getting out spotted in a light tank is just the latest in the decline of the entire games utility as entertainment. It was always an arcade game dressed up as a tank game, but now it’s closer to a racing car game with radar! There was never a particularly good map for all the tanks playing together, but now it’s really just one type of tank; fast heavy hitters with great armour, or extremely fast heavy hitters with beyond amazing spotting.
I like the cvs since I was spotted for half a game since a light tank was in a transparent bush that was smaller than it. It was just a couple of sticks sticking up from the snow. What’s the logic in that.
l2p, learn to adapt, learn to play against all odds. But crybabys will never change and yell for balance and rewards and buff their favorite tank. This game is not about rewards or belly rubs and feeling good or win every round to be a hero who feeds his ego out of stats - it is about to learn to deal with uncommon situations and deal with flaws of your setup every time and giving your best until the end of the round. If you don't get that yet, here is a good point to start over.
Spotting is nearly usless in WoT. 20 % Games you've a good spot map and in half of this games your team simply consits of 🐒 . Furthermore CVS in medium is a joke and limitation to tier 8 makes it even worse. If i have a tier 8 match in tier 6 or 7 scout and ELC or Borrat are in liste I simply quit its 99% waste of lifetime.
what about removing movement camo penalty from cvs, when light tank is the target for meds? or small delay before light tank lits up(like 0,5-2secs, maybe with cooldown(maybe integrate it into the radio equipment, to give it some purpose?))
what if we made that the cvs only work while moving? this could better prevent medium from playing defensively while have to lose camo if they want to spot.
I dunno man. My solution is to play tanks 4-7 tiers only. It makes it easier to enjoy the game. Every light tank higher than 7th tier is kinda pointless
99% of people crying for old maps are 100% of the whiners that got said maps deleted in the first place. Tier 7 and lower light tanks are not allowed to use CVS but regularly come up against tier 8-9 that do use CVS and are immediately rendered useless in a spotting role. TD overload is the real issue as every new release is a TD and most players these days including Med players prefer to sit on the back red line and snipe. 2-3 Arty per side almost every battle is another light tank deterrent and is the reason most Lt tank players are not playing them anymore. 1 Arty per team per battle will do a lot in terms of playability. As it sits now everyone just gets insta stunned from the first 30 seconds and remain stunned for the duration. Heavy tanks are full map spotting removing most lights from being useful in close maps with little to no areas to hide. There's no way to fix most problems in this game without removing certain player mindsets, the Redline issue could be fixed with Bans but it's not lucrative from a business point. We'd all be much happier but WG wouldn't make as much money. Reward players who fight within a certain distance for each tank class would be a welcome feature that would force ppl to play the tank in it's intended role far more reliably. Till then we get games full of mouth breathers slurping down energy drinks doing nothing but eating crackers and chips.
revert physics changes. revert map changes. revert armor changes. revert he changes. remove arty from the game. done. even with broken premium tanks the game would be fun again.
To be honest, I dont like the idea to make lights better. This would make an already fast game even faster turning it into a mario gokart clowncar game more than it is already by now.
Hey Jaun! Firstly, thanks for the feedback. What I would say to this is that light tanks already have such a minimal effect on battles now, that any changes helping light tanks, that might potentially speed up the game are the same exact changes (Buffs) you might oppose to the BC-25t or K91, both of which can have considerably more impact on games than any light tank. (and can act as faux lights) So if you are opposed to any light tank changes that might help them, then I think your worries are misplaced. -- On another note I think that stronger lights in many cases can help slow down games. Think of the maps where fast assault heavies can push together and steamroll a flank. Let's say there is a bush that over looks that fallen flank's entrance to your base. Using this bush, your light has a good chance at spotting these oncoming heavies for your TD's and Meds . However, as of now, Meds can also mount CVS. So if a Centurion AX has CVS for whatever reason, and it get's within 120m away, your light in that bush are done for... I think returning the role of spotting to lights will actually empower teams to be more tactical and careful. When you get spotted you tend to back off more. This power to hold off enemies with that mere intimidation factor should rest with lights.
Instead of making all maps good for all tanks why not change the matchmaker to not place light tanks in heavy tank biased maps and the other way around? You could get a popup dialog box with a warning that says, "hey dummy" this is not a map intended for this tank class and offer a buttom option to change tank choice. Alternatively, if you are platooned or just a sadist, you could proceed. Matchmaker should not try to match up a light tank that proceeded against advice to make the other team have a light tank as well on unintended maps. This should be totally elective. This way people would be prompted to choose the proper tanks for the proper map and have a choice. IRL, armor divisions don't deploy NBC tanks to incidents that don't require them, artillery to a MOUT interdiction, or a knife to a gunfight. Just my two cents.
remove light tanks, they are ubalanced as you said. even same LT make so much difference as no other tank in the game. As for example 10k player in LT vs enemy 3k LT player in team is ruining game for 30 ppl.
Have had the fun of being on a spotting map in my Rhm with my Sheridan teammate and seeing a Mantacore and a LT-100 on the other team. You just kinda know that you are not going to do much spotting this game without blowing up in the first minute.
1. While ELC's or Wheeled ARE "irritations".... I think the actual problem is that Light Tanks are almost as SLOW as Mediums and even some Heavy's. They also don't have "super accurate Guns" anymore like they used to. That was part of their nature, FAST, Accurate but Low-Damage guns, and with good Camo and Spotting ability. Their Speed and Accuracy has been removed both intentionally with terrible bloom such as with the ELC having a bad gun, and other tanks just made slower and inaccurate with the Great "Physics Nerf" which made all tanks slower, and the "Round Placement Nerf" which made all tanks more inaccurate. Then you have so many other types of tanks added to the game also competing against lights, more auto-loaders, more big damage guns, STUN (f you wargaming) etc. Lights are essentially "Mediums" now.... THAT is the actual problem. And no, I don't want mediums to be worse, I want lights to be better. Faster, and more accurate guns.... I'm not afraid of ELC's or Wheeled.... I just adapt, play different. It's easy. BTW, I mostly play Lights and Med's.... almost 100% because the Great Physics Nerf and Round Placement nerf literally made Heavy's UNPLAYABLE for me when they were my best class at the time. No joke. I was even playing at a Unicorn level in the E100 which I had just gotten the last few 100 games. Then the nerf, sold all my heavy's. 2. Yes, MAPS are a major problem.... not just some of the bad maps for lights that exist, but they RUIN Maps for Non-Armored, such as the latest update to OutPost, the South East Hills, now have no protection when an armored tank peeks the new small hills they've made. The last update of "Mountain Pass" ruined Non-Armored Play, nothing can actually be done in the MIDDLE of the map now, which was the primary fighting area for non-armored. I used to always do fine on that map, now I've literally I don't think have had even ONE good game on it. It's now a Map I WANT TO BAN...!!!! Other maps have been ruined to which hurt non-armored a LOT.... Oh, and if you see the update they are making to Airfield, a totally new map, clearly ruining non-armored and especially light play. BTW, the last update or two to Airfield has ruined non-armored play some. Also, they've REMOVED Good Maps for which ALL classes could do well on.... South Coast, Berlin, Hidden Village, Northwest, Sacred Valley, Severogorsk, Swamp, Windstorm, etc. These were ALL some great maps.... ALL classes and play styles could play these maps well. Though a couple they DID make worse for non-armored, but were still playable. Wargaming doesn't understand that it DOES NOT MATTER if one side wins a bit more, because we have MANY maps and we play BOTH sides.... so imbalance doesn't actually matter. Balance as you can, then forget about it.... It doesn't matter after that. I just can't comprehend WHY they would remove GREAT maps just because one side won a little more. It's just ridiculous. 3. Yes, the game is sped up because of so many powerful tanks, etc. But, rather than making worse maps, they could simply: - Remove Gold Rounds - Skill Balanced MM (each side get's a similar # of similar skilled players, whatever's in the que. I.e. if there are 6 Unicorns, each side get's 3 etc. etc. down the line). - No tank does over 700 Damage, and only Derps do that high. - Arty does max 300, but no lower than 100. - One Arty per side. - Double or Triple HP of all tanks. Do at least these things and the game will be slower and more balanced, less blowouts etc. It will be more of a "game" instead of wasting our time, ticking us off, etc. I also want the HE nerfs removed, and the Round Placement nerfs removed. RNG reduced. 4. Ya, I think I would be okay with removing CVS for all tanks except lights and maybe "non-armored". Although, I'm honestly not "afraid" of the Borrasque in my lights.... you all complain too much. 5. No, I don't think we need to be Nerfing the MM.... I don't even agree with the EBR nerfing. I think if we sped up tanks a bit more, did the above improvements I mention as well as adding the Auto-Aim mod to ALL tanks of the game, there's no reason to be "afraid" of EBR's. NERFING is NOT how people should be thinking on how to fix every problem or complaint of the game.... and that includes nerfing the MM. Like I said earlier.... holy cow it's NOT that hard to "adapt" your playstyle if you're going against an EBR or an ELC...... You all COMPLAIN too much. I don't even generally play the EBR's or ELC, I play other lights and non-armored FAR MORE.... and I've NEVER felt like I was "disadvantage" against those tanks Of course, I also am generally a "battle tank"..... I don't always "spot" unless it's a good spotting map or I do so through the battle. You all are just playing wrong.... Though, if having a high server pop.... I would be fine if they did a more "refined MM" then. I'm okay with that. But not otherwise. Just not needed in my view. 6. Are you kidding me? A "cap" on Light tanks....? Common, you're just getting ridiculous now.... I could maybe be okay with a 5 tank cap no matter the class, but, please, less than that you're just being a putty tat. 7. Meh, EBR's the ONLY things that need to happen to them is to "bounce rounds less" and the auto-aim snapping should be on ALL tanks. And buff other tanks, made a little faster on the low end, power and acceleration, and give back their more accurate booms and remove the HE nerfs. EBR's are mostly fine, I don't think they need a "buff". 8. Yes, for the love of heaven.... give back the Bulldogs Auto-loader, T37, etc.... The Bulldog used to be so FUN.... Never played it since. Boring, sucks. I wouldn't mind if they removed a couple of rounds from it. But NOT too much of a nerf, and nerfing NOTHING else. Keep fun. Conclusion.... We agree mostly on a lot, disagree some also, and a little. I don't think it's necessary to have such strict MM, and I think I mostly agreed with everything else, and added some stuff that should be done to make an actual "balanced" game.
@@Tankers4Change ... LOL. I'm highly detailed and accurate. I don't open my mouth unless it's really thought out, productive, accurate, etc. Thanks.... LOL
I would personally like CVS to be removed from the game Elc even cammo level is just to good (it matches it's side but it is braking to many maps if played properly) - it should be nerfed or it should loose view range at least Instead of CVS I would like LT's to have 445[m] max spotting range vs all others -5 to -10 [m]

As a light tank enjoyer i would argue that there are more people playing lights now than ever before.
Cvs should only be possible to buy on lights.
The biggest issue as a light is that there are so many meds with great camo and view range combine, the class identity have been lost as view range/camo isn't their specialty anymore.
An example:
K-91 can get 43% camo on the move and 51.70 stationary with 525m view range while using cvs.
Everything you have said is perfect
This is frustrating
just remove CVS from mediums altogether
Wrong!remove it for good;)
Th only thing that need to happen
I'll go a step farther, remove CVS entirely and give part of it's ability to light tanks as a class.
just remove light tanks from the game altogether.
Buff arta HP, VR, ammunition, dispersion and they become high explosive tank destroyers like Hetzer or SU152
Buff light tanks HP, remove their on the move camo, and make them medium tanks. Essentially becoming glass cannon mediums like bourratt, lorraine, standard B
This not only improves, radically game health, but also improves spotting skill which is a good thing.
I like my T7 lights, but they get outspotted by T8 and up mediums because of CVS. CVS for mediums has got to go or be changed when used by mediums.
@@obi-wlankenobi you do know there is more than one slot, right? The other slots have coated optics, and vents.
@@WarmongerSmurfOnXboxwell, you didnt have cvs
@@WarmongerSmurfOnXboxvents are useless, also camo net almost useless
The LT daily mission "Spot 3" is very toxic with multi LT teams. Forces you to play against your own team, and paired with a quicker LT, many times forces you to do suicide runs into enemy lines.
I use CVS in my light tanks, unless on a city map, or when there are 3 or more in a game. If too many lights are in a game, I concentrate on dmg.
Yup, that’s really the only thing you can do in those situation 😂
I think it would be awesome if CVS were limited to light tanks only
I was a huge LT fan until the arty nerf as far forward spotting was near impossible and I just felt like a bait tank with the supporting tanks spotting for them selves.
Yes, bring back the old maps! I miss them.
The thing is WG doesn’t care about balance, just money and keeping player in his game
14:20 These unique ideas sections are very good suggestions, specially -1s spotting time for versatile and +1 for wheelies
The main thing is, LIFE IS SHORT SO HAVE FUN WHILE YOU'RE STILL ON THIS SIDE OF THE DIRT!
if your play style is to sit behind a bush and never move up, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. ADVANCE!!!!!! THE VERY OBJECT OF WAR!!!!!
I agree 100% with you ! Hopefylly I enjoy all classes with a small pref for MD & LT
Great video man! You deserve more subs! 💯
Thanks bro! I really appreciate it 🙏
removing CVS for mediums is something that needs to happen
I've been thinking about CVS in mediums for a few months now as I started to really get into mediums. Always made me wonder why I would bring a light. What an awesome battle with the HWK30 in the end
CVS, Optics, Vents on all my light tanks in spotting config...
what i do not like the most, is simply the maps... no places for spotting on 2/3 of the current map pool
5:50 that soundtrack hit hard
Yeah, trully, feels like the good old days 💚
Very well thought-out narration and ideas.
Thank you! 🙏 I’ll be doing more video essays like this soon!
I think the ability to make a medium in to a spotter role is appropriate. This gives the choice to run something other than a light tank for scouting.
The orig LT rules of being considered one tier up and no tier 10 LT's was way better. I so miss my old ELC the real ELC at tier 5.
In my opinion the only problem is when there are over 2 lights.
@@_Cookie_Warrior_ Fair enough! Thanks for the feedback!
There should def be a difference between active spotting (wheelies) LTs, and passive, afk type spotting (actual) LTs.
Also wg does hate lights and derp guns.. They nerfed tier 10 lights and trees cause mediums need to be better then lights.. Look it up..
Yup I remember it well. Update 9.18 killed the uniqueness and fun for a lot of light tanks 🥲
Optics - can only be used on light tanks (it would give the light a real task, which would be compensated by the CVS on the heavy and medium tanks)
Any form of TURBO - heavy's could not be in any form.
Any Durability device - I would take out of it the one that increases the health of the track, but since it is pointless, I would distribute the remaining abilities between the two survival equipment
The durability device makes many tanks unstoppable as it is impossible to take down the tracks (especially heavy tanks and tds) with one shot because not enough alpha damage.
Sincerely, McFeet
As a realists WOT light tanks are too fast for humans to survive and tracks to stay attached, but it's a really fun game.
Artillery
Elc and Borat are def cancer but my gripe is CVS at teir 8, teir 6/7 at a huge disadvantage - I'd just remove CVS
I 100% feel that. - What would you think if CVS was just given to all light tanks?
Tier 6 & 7 lights could have their CVS “turned on” when facing tier 8’s and above, and have it turned off when facing same tier and below, so as to not be broken
I love my lower tier lights but it seems like hopeless venture when you continually get outs-potted by high tier meds using CVS… lol
The best I do in the T49 is to get a good derp hit on the enemy light early on and somehow escape to be valuable in the late game.
@@5353Jumper That’s what I try to do as well. You have to play good ambush spots to pull it off tho
Very well made video, keep it up.
Thank you! More content coming soon! 👍
While not wrong about the even 90 there are so many bad even 90 players it feels like it balances out. As a LT player maps where a LT is critical like prok getting a bad scout is almost an instaloss.
this video should be in the top.
Me how veteran of WoT, I approve maybe all this ideas.
and also forgot to add, regarding special tasks on 260 and 279
They cannot be completed now, with the current random.
“Decline of dedicated light tank players”
WHIRLS has entered the chat 😊
Great video man. The Even 90s are everywhere. The maps are almost all brawling maps. Mediums should not be able to run CVS.
Thank you! 🙏 Means a lot - I definitely thought of you when I was mentioning dedicated Light Mains. (I’m glad you haven’t left tho lol)
Remove CVS entirely
Put to all lights the CVS passive
For recon lights you give the CVS passive bonus slot
Versatile keep the normal passive
Wheeled lights don't get the passive
Mediums don't get the passive
remove cvs entirely and just make it as a class bonus for lights
@@anknjv9211 Tbh I love this idea. I’ve also been thinking of this same idea for a couple weeks now. But It only occurred to me after I put out this video tho lol.
Glad you shared bc it shows it’s probably an ideal and intuitive solution towards making lights more unique. It would also free up the equipment a lot for Improved Radio set or Rammer, etc.
Send this video to 4TankersAndDog
Not a bad idea, I know he plays lights quite often. Does he have a discord?

*Fixing Light Tanks:* Increase to light tank crew injury due to environmental collisions.
Hitting a tree at 50 MPH or a brick wall, in a light tank, it's not a balancing issue, it's a get real issue that needs to just "get real".
WOT doesn't need to be "Rocket League II"
Look at his screen covered in the assistance his mods are giving him.....
As a light player, this is spot on! (no pun intended)
No tier 8 game without ELC Even 90 anymore.... Does devaluate every other light tank :(
Hey Guys! If you enjoyed this video , feel free to check out my other content on my channel! --> youtube.com/@Tankers4Change?si=L1bMLYTxnvY-qucJ
My best friend who I play with sometimes this game warns me that don't 'pop a wheel'... a very good advise to all...
its partly because the other players are rude and demand way to much of light tank players. we get sic of hearing everyone cry instead of play.
What’s the logic in that.
as a comment on MM i love your work and will sub
Thank you! Much appreciated!
There are things worst... Lights pen the heavy front and bouncing shoots from sheels bigger than the tanks...
l2p, learn to adapt, learn to play against all odds.
Cvs needs to be improved if anything. Lights are almost obsolete.
I get pokhrovka hardly once a week. 🤷♂
You just "quit"? How mature...
what about removing movement camo penalty from cvs, when light tank is the target for meds? or small delay before light tank lits up(like 0,5-2secs, maybe with cooldown(maybe integrate it into the radio equipment, to give it some purpose?))
Buff light tank guns back to pre 9.18, heck even the mobility should be buffed to pre 9.18 top speed wise
Which tanks would you like to see brought back to their pre-9.18 glory the most?
what if we made that the cvs only work while moving? this could better prevent medium from playing defensively while have to lose camo if they want to spot.
It’s not a bad idea! I at least like the idea of that being specific to medium tanks. Makes it much less attractive to use CVS.
I love my t44-100 with CVS and 42% Stationary camo 😁ninja
If you are concerned about balanced battles, I wonder why you don't talk about skill based matchmaking.
Don’t you worry 😂 that video is coming.
Cvs dont need to be on mediums.. Ever..
Agreed 👍 Thanks for your feedback!
So many (new) maps are corridor maps. If WG want the game to be «World of heavy tanks», I´m out.
remove light tanks, they are ubalanced as you said. even same LT make so much difference as no other tank in the game.
First remove chiters, then fix mm and add some new maps or old ones .
But, rather than making worse maps, they could simply:
- Remove Gold Rounds
- Skill Balanced MM (each side get's a similar # of similar skilled players, whatever's in the que. I.e. if there are 6 Unicorns, each side get's 3 etc. etc. down the line).
I don't even generally play the EBR's or ELC, I play other lights and non-armored FAR MORE.... and I've NEVER felt like I was "disadvantage" against those tanks
Of course, I also am generally a "battle tank".....

I stopped long ago playing WoT for WG bending over the casual players.
I would personally like CVS to be removed from the game
Elc even cammo level is just to good (it matches it's side but it is braking to many maps if played properly) - it should be nerfed or it should loose view range at least
Instead of CVS I would like LT's to have 445[m] max spotting range vs all others -5 to -10 [m]
