I’m very happy that they chose to add such color and beautify a place that is so dark. Even having the children play there is a great seen because hundreds of years ago there was no children laughing and playing on that island!

That monument is impressive and really shows Senegal is punching above its weight. I love the sense of representation of all of Africa in that monument.

Senegal have long had a train system inherited from the French which they maintained unlike Nigeria.

'Man's in humanity to man', Goree is such a beautiful island but it's history is so dark. It's good that the Senegalese have preserved their history even the bad parts of it. Ghana has done the same but Nigeria saw no value in doing similar even though it was one of the biggest source of enslaved Africans to the Americas and beyond
