    Lot of people where hyped about this before the 2 month delay without keeping people in the know of just how long it was gonna be before it would be available.

    This phone is a beautiful piece of hardware and pure stock, bare bones software that can't be matched. I'm glad I own one and it has been nothing but smooth working for me on T-Mobile.

    No developer will update their apps for just one phone. That's why most features remain as gimmick due to lack of apps support.

    *Essential phone Review*
    Screen: Disappointing-Because most of the apps haven't been optimized and colors aren't that vivid.
    Camera: Average-When compared to other flagships.
    Audio: Doesn't have something essential called a headphone jack.
    Performance: Similar to other flagships
    Price: Unrealistic.
    Verdict: Go for another flagship.

      Errrgh, NO ! In 2006 this phone would have been an absolute wonder of tech; the first mass marketed "smartphone" didn't even come out until 2007. Please stop exaggerating, it weakens any argument (or point) you are trying to make.

    • @IndyGuy65
      @IndyGuy65 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Guy Katz if you hate bezels wait for the LG V30 and Pixel 2 XL. Do not raise your blood pressure over the bezel here.

    The only thing I'm jealous of is the titanium frame and the ceramic back. Other than that nothing. And the fact that they removed the headphone jack without having a second speaker and expandable storage is downright a waste of space.

    Past performances does not guarantee future success. Don't care who you are I get hyped for what the phone CAN do not what we THINK it will do. Its a gen 1 product that feels like a one plus product but asks for Galaxy S8 money. Your $$$ is best on any other phone. Its a great first attempt but you can tell its a first attempt.

  • @TrisjensChronicles1203
    @TrisjensChronicles1203 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    $349 is the correct price.
    They nailed it on the design, but failed in the hardware/features. The Essential dud.

    • @roxxxjay
      @roxxxjay 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At it's current price point, it's definitely lacking a few features. But $349 for a phone built out of titanium and ceramic? LOL! You do realize titanium is much more expensive than the typical aluminium (or plastic) used...right?

    • @TrisjensChronicles1203
      @TrisjensChronicles1203 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      roxxxjay By your logic, you might as well make the case that we pay for specs. We don’t! That’s one thing you fail to realize, it doesn’t matter what’s its made out of, in fact that cost should be eaten up by the OEM not consumers. $349 is responsible for 2 important reasons; 1. The Essential brand is essentially a kickstarter program with the Andy Rubin name stamp on it, unfortunately to most that means nothing. The 1st mediocre attempt at a phone and they failed from a hardware/feature perspective. 2. The $699 price was never reasonable to begin with when compared to competition in that same field. To make it simple, I’ll use One a Plus 5 as an example. For the price, you get more of a solid phone in hardware/features for almost half the price. They’ve been around for years now but still price their phones competitively. So to think that an phone can’t be $349 because it’s made of ceramic, is not an valid argument. $699 isn’t even a realistic option especially when players are doing what your offering to do, better.

    • @nevergiveupnevergivein7655
      @nevergiveupnevergivein7655 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Teejaye1100 they failed at nothing. The phone doesn’t have what YOU want. Guess what? It means Essential didn’t have YOU in mind when developing it. Who did they have in mind? Business professionals who miss the robust phone experience of Blackberry and its lack of bloatware. It’s for people who realize that long-term a LCD is better than OLED. It’s for people who don’t shit a brick because Bluetooth or a dongle is the means of audio connectivity. It’s for people who don’t look at a phone as needing a camera to rival an independent digital camera. That black and white camera...it’s perfect for photos of documents. “Who would want to do that?” Business owners. How about mobile check deposit? Black and white camera is perfect for it. You don’t like this phone because it’s not for you. So, go back to your big, expensive toy you call a phone.

  • @wjlambert
    @wjlambert 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Why is the lack of an audio jack still a thing? I gave up using the audio jack on my phone when Bluetooth became available, long before Smartphones existed. Now I use the LG Tone, which is far better than any pair of Headphones I've used.

    • @jortuspelatus7364
      @jortuspelatus7364 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If only the majority of smartphone users has the same personal experience as you then people wouldn't have to complain about the loss of an audio jack, but since that's not the case then it would probably because they don't have the budget to buy a good pair of Bluetooth headset or not having to bother with charging it when it's low on power.

    • @wjlambert
      @wjlambert 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wait... so a Smartphone user can afford a $500-$1000 device, but can't afford a $100 BT headset? As for the recharging issue... i guess remembering to recharge two things at night is twice as hard.
      If you want it, you'll do it.
      I used to be a headphone user, but I couldn't deal with the headset cable getting caught on things and ripping the earphones off my head. It was a practical change. I will admit that it's the only "necklace" that i'll wear ... (techlace?)

    • @jortuspelatus7364
      @jortuspelatus7364 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In the end of the day it all depends on the type of person you are; if your serious on audio or is quite the tech enthusiast, you'll most likely abandon whatever's bundled on your smartphone and buy ones from dedicated brands. I, for one, own an S8+ and the bundled AKG earphones suits my needs well enough but buying something better wouldn't hurt as long as its within my budget. Affordable but good sounding Bluetooth headsets with good battery life are few and far between, depending on where you live.
