- BOB DOWNE (the comic creation of Mark Trevorrow) spent most of the 90s based in London. His favourite collaborator there was the incredible LILY SAVAGE (Paul O'Grady's legendary, now retired, alter ego). Mark and Paul met at the 1991 Edinburgh Festival and toured Australia together in 1992. In 1993 they debuted a Torvill & Dean-style comic ice ballet routine (choreographed by Betty 'Legs' Diamond) at the London Palladium. They recreated it in December 1995 for a Live video. Look - no skates! They follow with a chat and a song - SOMETHIN' STUPID, a duet originally recorded by Frank & Nancy Sinatra.
Watching with melancholy tonight. Bob and Lily were fabulous together. RIP Paul. 😢

Ah, a classic! It was thanks to this clip during my Lily Savage days that I saw this and thought "this man is fantastic, I must see more" and have been a huge fan ever since. I still have this video!

Loved watching you together on TV, some of the funniest (especially the ad-libbed un-scripted moments) of comedy I've ever seen... Did you keep in touch with Paul after Lily went into the Nunnery?
The rep-ore and chemistry between them is amazing and they're both brilliant performers.

This is our favourite routine ever - choreographed by Betty Legs Diamond - the first time we did it was a Sunday night at the London Palladium where the crowd screamed and laughed so loudly we couldn’t hear the track! Incredible
