Employers should follow the ACAS code of practice on discipline and grievance matters in addition to their own procedure. This should include investigating the issue in order to establish the facts, tell you what the allegations are against you and invite you to the hearing to discuss the issues and state your case, presenting evidence that will help you to challenge the matter.
