- Remember when the rest of the world used to make fun of the Corvette? It wasn't completely warranted, yet there were some criticisms that both stuck and stung. Those days were officially pushed into the past when the new C7 Corvette arrived.
The 2015 Corvette Z06, however, takes those old notions, douses them in high-octane fuel, and sets them ablaze. That's because it just might be the best bang for the buck performance machine on the planet.

Some say it’s not a super car but I disagree. My C7 Z06 manual is so bad ass it scares the shit out of me. My theory is if its beating super cars than it’s is a super car.
There's no argument that this car is amazing, and my personal dream car lol.
Corvette isn't just bang for the buck...it is and always has been bang for the bang. Nothing short of $1 million hyper cars can give this thing a run for its money.

Please.....on a track course maybe, but flat out drag racing there are plenty of cars out there with far less money in them that will show this thing their tailights....I've got an 03 cobra that I paid 28 grand for with only 5600 miles on it when I bought it.....has a Whipple supercharger swap from the original eaton, with the basic intake and exhaust mods to go along with it, and my car would beat this thing in a drag any day of the week and twice on sundays....lol. so for 28 grand and another 8 or so for my mods, I've got a car that will beat this 100 grand fiberglass midlife crisis car. You don't have to be rich to build a fast street car.

Douglas Vernon of course i would yell in excitement. The issue is the audio is messed up. The volume throughout the video is not consistent. One minute it's super loud and the other it's normal.
Car sounded good to me. Isn't that all that matters? You girls should check out some minivan reviews...I hear they have great audio on their videos.

Best car ever made! Yeah i agree with the other comment, the loudest point in the video should be filtered and lowered so it is leveled, otherwise i think the audio quality itself is great.

I don't take the Vettes out during the winter. Too many non winter driving people out there. I figure if I need the winter tires, I just jump in the truck.

Awesome video. I drove the 2007 Corvette Z06 and it was like a rocket ship. I got a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds.

Mine is a 3LZ, auto, convertible, in Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic, with body colored vent, and exposed fiber hood. It is awesome. I once was a purist. I owned a 1988 corvette Z51 with a standard and a 1991 ZR-1 with a standard. I am very happy with an auto convertible that would spank them both. haha!
You gotta fix that audio problem, the engine is way too loud compared to the voice. Serious warning for headphone users at 7:16 especially
Thank you for discussing some particular details that I haven't heard talked about anywhere else... Specifically about no longer having to pull the fuse to get the louder/better exhaust note and how the infocomm system is laggy. Much appreciated by someone researching this car for an actual purchase decision to be an informed buyer!

The Z06 is an incredible car. However, I have ordered something else (Porsche Boxster Spyder) as I want a car that I can get out of second gear on the twisty mountain roads that I will be driving on. Chevy has done an awesome job.
All true I have the '17 Z06/07...2 years now...brilliant car...still love it.
After importing it is 50% more expensive (120.000€) than in USA but it still has a lot of value.
***** yeah that sucks. it´s the main reason why US cars could´nt be sold in europe.

had a ferrari 360, sounded, looked great. had TWO porsche 911 turbos, fantastic performance. But this Z06 for the money is beyond reproach it's just incredible\

The best sports car in the world, in my opinion. And wow! The exhaust note sounds even better than the N/A Stingray Z51! What a glorious machine!
I agree, I want whine. I had a 2011 CTS-V with a CAI and the wine was incredible. I now have a 2016 Z06, and although the performance is great, I want to hear some whine from the supercharger. Oh well. I've read that an aftermarket SC lid might help. Thanks for the video!

I have owned Porsche 911s for many years. My last two cars were M3. I am in the market for a new car and I was leaning toward a 2016 Porsche 911gt3. But the gt3 does not have a manual option. Then I test drove the new ZO6 with a stick. Torque and acceleration are unbelievable, same as the 911 Turbo S. But the Turbo does not come with a stick anymore either.
May have to march my ass up to Irvine and find out the delivery time from the factory for a 2016 ZO6. I wonder if there is a waiting list. A friend of mine ordered a ZO6 from a dealer back east and claimed he saved $10,000.

No, the C6 was the watershed moment, not the C7. That's the first Corvette worth buying since the first-gen. And none of the prior vehicles were good value for money, either, especially since the advent of the 240Z, _which spanked it_, just as did the 300ZX turbo, and the 300ZX TT - which is what these cars were built to do

This car is clearly a top contender as a top sports car period, buck banging or not. The Z06 is a segment leading beast that has to be the most fun to drive vs. just about anything on the road today. The Z07 package is highly recommended, the monster light carbon ceramic brembo brakes are totally amazing.

Targa top is the best of both worlds, wish more cars would have it.

I think it would be hard to find a better value than the 2008 and later C6 for the money. The C6 just as the C7 could never be pushed to the limits on public roads. On the C7, Chevy focused on what really mattered. It's only right from a country that invented the Space Shuttle!! God Bless America...I love her.

I never bought the c6 zo6 because you couldn’t take the roof off, loved everything about the car except that I could not get a toga top and now with the c7 it’s the perfect zo6 for me
I am getting this car in red too! Drive one you'll own one. I was never brand loyal however chevy has me at the moment. I own a C7 stingray black on black and a red Zl1 camaro. I test drive cars all the time and wanted to like the GTR however that car is not fun on the road and needs a redesign...please nissan work on it. I'ved owned porsche, bmw, ford, lexus, infinti..etc. Its a great car and the road feel is truly V8...different from euros. Proud to own american again!

Shahul Usman its not that the Z06 is losing power because its actually overheating, GM set up the ENGINE AND SC to pull power at semi high heat levels the SC and engine can actually handle very very extreme temps but to maintain warranty / longevity they have a very aggressive ECU tune.

Yea I've been reading on the corvette forums.. Many of there aren't happy about it. In the 80-100k range you have the z51,z06,mustang gt350r, m3/4, new c63 amg-s, cayman gt4/boxster spyder, and even the current z/28 camaro, viper . The z06 is the fastest obviously, but for the track junkie? Maybe the gt4 or z/28 or gt340r would be better.. No cooling issues.. Na engine

I'm looking to get the Z06 at the end of this year but I live in NYC and I would like to use it as a daily driver. The summer only Michelin sports cup tires can't be used under 35 degrees and there isn't an all weather tire that exists which could fit this car. Why?
Only thing I don't like is the Digital Tach... sure it's hi tech & records data, but I like a physical component.
my 2 cents Z06 great choice for big horsepower, fairly good looks, decent modern tech, def gorgeous sound, it is def one of the best if not the best Corvette ever made, fantastic car AS LONGS the buyer keeps the specs cheap as meant to be, as soon the price reaches 100k plus i think its an absolutely idiocy to pay that much for a Corvette, fully spec'ed out at $120k + is plain madness for a Corvette regardless how fast and nice it is, doesn't hold its value against the "equivalent" competition from europe, depreciation will be out of this world.
While i agree that a corvette will depreciate more in terms of overall percentage than say some other exotics, the amount of money lost would actually be less with a Vette. Yea a 100k dollar corvette may only be worth 50K in a few years, but what do you think happens if you buy a 200k dollar porsche gt3?? That car probably looses 30K in value as soon as you drive it off the lot lol!

Elbowz The example you cited is from a rare car and situation. I have heard of Porsche models selling for way over MSRP due to the rarity or even being worth more then they paid. However, you cited one exception in about 100 cases. You almost never make money off cars and you usually loose tons of money. If it was a sure thing to buy a $130,000 porsche and only loose 400 dollars everytime, trust me i would have already bought one.

one hell of a supercar.
Just moved up from my 2014 Z51 to a Z06. Seems like the cylinder count has doubled. Got the stage 2 aero package and converted the rear spoiler to stage 1. The looks have it all over the Z51. Is this a great country or what? PS. the ride is better and road noise have been improved vs the 2014....softer suspension bushings I suspect.

I have a side by side photo at the dealership....yes, something is very different. I just got to a grand miles and finally let it rip....listen to the reviewer at 7:15....I had the same reaction when when I hit full tilt.
Gentry We're twins, except I ordered stage one. I think the ride difference you're noticing is from magna-ride...standard on the Z06, an option I didn't get on my Z51. I hope you're enjoying it. I'm driving the piss outta mine.

I just went from Z51 to Z06 as well. The 06 is both more aggressive and faster. I did love my Z51 and it actually sounded better in my opinion than my Z06. With my z06 the exhaust is either off or it blaring. The Z51 exhaust note is more refined and I consider it best I ever heard. All that said, I totally my Z06 it’s a raw animal tamed by great handing.

why are there 4 exhaust pipes if only 2 are used ?
It is for the active exhaust valves. Inside two are for stealth mode and the outside two open up in race mode. Most people roll in race mode hints why the outer two are alway dirty and the inside stay clean.

any model corvette has always been best bang for the buck sport car even if it wasnt the fastest but who cares it has always been one of the most reliable and best fuel economy ever felt by a human being and this 2 things win races more than anything apecially on circuits, no wander this iconic sport car has always been named by many, the best allround sport car and also the best buy of a sport car of all times.
