EXACTLY why I still watch ever video!! Always learn something new from ckwraps! I never knew u could heat up vinyl and chase wrinkles away like, that helped out so much on my bumper! U need to just open a wrap school!
I just did a hood wrap on my 2016 wrx and I’m just gonna say that prior to doing the wrap I think I watched this video about 10 times and no matter how many times you watch a how to video it is a whole lot different actually doing it for yourself. It took me around 4 hours in the beating sun and I think I sweat out about 5 lbs of water and I’m now finished and my back and my fingers hurt like hell but hey atleast I finished the wrap job, I feel I have achieved a great accomplishment and I just wanna say that if it is your first time well you’re in for a treat. ;) but i do know that watching this mans videos and getting the general idea has extremely helped me so thanks Chris I appreciate your very well instructed videos!
I did this myself on my 2015 wrx and it almost came out perfect thanks to your video. Def learned a lot. The part I had the most trouble with was the middle right in front of the scoop area. I made a few mistakes there but the rest is good. Thanks for the guidance!
Probably the first channel I've came across that goes into details on how to wrap a car. You're not speed running through it and then 5 min through the video, voila! You actually have hour long videos! Not only that, but you have a video for each part of the car demonstrating how to wrap it. I recently bought your blood burgundy by Vivvid for 20% off (thank you so much for that!) and now I'm going to attempt to wrap my car using your methods! Thank you so much for taking the time in making these kind of videos! Awesome work CK!
This guy is amazing...he can wrap faster than I can do an oil change. Great camera work, lighting, audio, and professionalism. I'm a subscriber now...keep up the good work
I have no intention of every trying to do a wrap job, but I enjoy watching you do this stuff man. Impressive. And more impressive that you are sharing your knowledge with people for free online. Keep killing the game bro. Channel is blowing up crazy! If you find a cool white pearl let me know. We Can change up the Lambo for 2019!
Prime example of why people pay professionals good money 👌🏽 expertise in your craft and done in quick time. Making it look easy when it’s far from easy!
I’m glad I found these videos. I want to wrap my 15 WRX in this color and I’m definitely worried about screwing it up. Thinking about going with Avery film (bought some samples and they seemed to be easy to work with) and I have a decent install kit but I still need practice. At least these videos will give me an idea of what I’m in for.
Pretty awesome that you are doing so many hood videos lately. I got my hood wrapped and it looks sweet. Thanks for posting these videos they are truly valued.
Great job. If it’s possible can you do some video on the bumpers since I also have an sti that I’ll be wrapping once materials arrive. Just so I have a better idea on the bumper.
I think I will put a portion of the film backing under my hood where the scoop was, that seems like a good way to keep the film from getting contaminated.
I've got a question for you... I've got a BMW 2000 BMW 540i, hood has lot's of rock chips and some clear coat loss Do I have to fill and sand and prime it before I put on a wrap? Or should I just get it painted if I have to do all that prep anyway? Would a thicker carbon type wrap be easier? Any advice would help.
Hey Christian, i started my wrapping lessons and just tried to wrap my hood myself in carbon. The problem is i keep having bubbles. You think the somewhat cheaper film i use ( homebrand from the site i order) it's air release isn't doing the job that well? I'm squeegeing the way you show it and holding the film up but the film keeps pushing air into the wrong ways. The air release pattern is made of zigzagging lines. Would it be the quality of the film or more my fault? Many thanks!!
When I try and lift my vinyl like that to glass it splits or I have to wrestle with it... it's like its got super glue underneath it... anyone know why this might be?
I'm doing my own kfx450r. .. I came here after two quick attempts at rear panel . When I hit TH-cam and searched. And found this guy... ok honestly I was check this bone head he has no helper this is going to be great. And it was.... it was life changing lol.. the vynle bug hit.. And I learned so much in the first video I was hooked... Thank you .. check out the kfx450r let me know what you think it's defiantly a challengr... cam you price it..iif you did the kfx450r. 2014...?
Hi This is my first time wrapping Im using chromatic nardo grey vinyl wrap. It has a clear film over the wrap. When I do the initial lay, I peel back the backing and just let the vinyl drop on the surface like in the first part of your video. I dont press down on it with my hand or squeegee it down. When I then go to lift it back up to stretch and squeegee,it to difficult to lift. Like its superglued on. I end up tugging on it and creasing or splitting the vinyl. Is there something that I'm doing wrong?
@@vivekodedra7901 the brand is not of high quality so this will usually make it very hard to install. I have tried a brand like this before and I couldn't wrap the car in it because the film was sticking like super glue.
@@vivekodedra7901 Avery will most likely be more expensive but in this case you chose a cheaper film which might end up being wasted. Avery is much easier to use for most beginners.

Will a wrap kinda mask rock chips? I wanna wrap my wrx hood in carbon but I’m scared all the rock chips will be super obvious in the finished product

You always produce top quality work!
"PERFECT!"
What kind of prep work do you do? Clay bar, or just a good clean? Also do little Rock chips stand out?
Did you use tack reducer on the hood you make it look so easy pulling the vinyl back up. I had a hell of a time doing the hood and roof on my car.
Your such an inspiration! Keep up the quality work!
No dust. Not to much heat. Glass. Pull tri angle
. Last but not least prep...did I miss any think
I have a 2013 dodge charger srt, where on my hood would I start? My vent faces my windshield.
Still struggling to do this on my own with all the tools you have. Starting to get really frustrating.

It depends on how nice you want it to look. If you want it absolutely perfect then you'll want to follow the steps you listed
Can you do a video of 2011 sti bumper scoops. I’ve been struggling to get it on piece if it’s possible. Thanks

STI for the win!
Hi! Does this nardo grey color have a hint of blue in it like the new honda civic do? Thanks
When I try and lift my vinyl like that to glass it splits or I have to wrestle with it... it's like its got super glue underneath it... anyone know why this might be?
It's so it can stick to you're car
Thanks!
You are a wizard
Wow nice color what color of this
About how much vinyl does it take to cover the STI? 5 feet by 60 feet? 5 feet by 65 feet?
Quarter panels 22-24ft (11-12 ea) , Hood 6ft, Doors 16ft (4 ft each), Fenders 4ft, Bumpers 20ft (10ft ea), Roof 5ft, Skirts falloff from QP, Fender caps falloff...so roughly 75ft
Kurt Shimada thanks!
If you are a pro you could probably do it in less. But if you're a newbie that's what I'd go with.
Awesome job!
Nice work
how much does it cost to wrap satin charcoal on a 2015 WRX Limited

Can you recommend me a compressor? I never see that on your videos

Would it be easier to wrap a hood off of the car?
How much film should I buy for my wrx hood?

Which brand of film is it?
Brand: Chromatic Vinyl Films

- Material: High-Flex Polymeric PVC Film

I didnt go for avery because I thought it would be too expensive in comparison to how experienced I am.
