Kind of mostly true. The Chozo never conquered the galaxy and the X never got farther than SR388, the Chozo were still around by the time the Federation was formed and acted as advisers somewhat to Keaton (who would later become chairman of the Galactic Federation), and Metroid Prime wasn't a Space Pirate project, it was just a weird thing they found while mining in its core form, then assimilated their weapons and broke out (depending on whether you have the PAL or NTSC versions of the game). The virus could have been found early by the chozo/ started on a chozo world. It could have killed mostly thin populated planets in a huge area e.g. colonies, or they didn't think of it that hard and just said millions.
the video has some misinformation. The x-parasite never actually broke out of their planet of origin (planet SR388) but the Chozo saw their limitless potential threat. Also the metroids didn't clean up the galaxy, the Chozo just left them on SR388 and let them be. some other stuff as well os wrong like chozo being militaristic. They were warriors more akin to indigeous tribes but at the same time they were very scientific and also spiritual.
ShadowFalconPictures Nintendo has failed to meet even basic standards that it has set in the past. The Wii U was the worst selling Nintendo console of all time. They are clearly doing a lot of stuff wrong. Defending their actions when they are both anti-consumer (such as excessive copy-right strikes on TH-cam) and irrational (amputating the rich story lines from the Paper Mario series, failing to make a Wii U exclusive Zelda game, failing to draw 3rd party support with competitive hardware, and failing to meet the expectations of their fans, to the point where they have to disable likes-dislikes on their Metroid videos to mask the disappointment of their own fans), all this does is distract from the darker realities of where this company is going.
There's actually a really long story to it that deals with the previous races, the prophetic abilities of the Chozo, how they all went insane because the Phazon planet was going to kill them all and there was nothing they could do about it, using their prophetic abilities to predict that Samus was going to exist and how they preserved all their weapons and upgrades in specific, convenient puzzle rooms for her to find, but that would've taken more than 3 minutes to convey.
Actually, Dark Samus didn't actually 'team up' with the space pirates in Metroid Prime 2. She assaulted them & absorbed their phazon stash & they were pretty bent about it.
+ElZamo92 Well, for the overall story Other M had this: Oh crap, we have this Adam guy Samus keeps talking about, we need to have a game with him in it where he is alive... Oh, and we also need an explanation as to why Ridley is a drained out husk on the research station instead of space dust...
+Xerkxes Not canon but if you don´t care about details its still a pretty nice game. What I would like to see is a other M gameplay(3D + third person+good graphics) mixed with a really good and fitting story. I mean, would that be so difficult?
Darthplagueis13 They could do it, but for one thing if they made it 3rd person, I think it would be better if they made it more in the style of non-dmc like 3rd person games, aka not like super fast paced hack and slash style. Something more like mass effect or dead space. Or hell, they could easily make it fallout/elder scrolls style and give you the option to go 3rd or 1st person.
Pretty good! Only hiccup is that Metroid Prime wasn't a pirate project but an independent Phazon creature (a leviathan guardian) protecting the meteor on Tallon IV. In the initial release the pirates discovered it and tried experimenting on it... it went about as well as you expect. Later releases retconned it so that the pirates never even encountered Metroid Prime at all due to it being locked behind the Artifact Temple barrier. Also the Ing/Luminoth weren't mentioned at all, but what ya gonna do?
Everything between Prime and Corruption was sort of its own thing. On an unrelated note, I know people hate Hunters, but at least it managed to feel like a Metroid game: you get a message for a mission, you go to an abandoned part of the universe to see what’s going on, you have to explore ruined areas to get to your goals, and you’re completely on your own; heck, the ruins are completely foreign to Samus. Also, the controls are so good, I’m kinda mad they didn’t bring Hunters’ control scheme back for Federation Force. Hunters’ single player may have been short, but that doesn’t make it bad. The original Metroid was just kill Kraid, kill Ridley, kill Mother Brain, get out.
Im just wondering where Aether is in all this since it seems the Echos part of the timeline was forgotten here. Not sure how since it's a pretty awesome Metroid game right after Prime itself in my opinion. Also Metroid Prime was never created by the pirates, it arrived on Tallon IV with the meteor and was collectively known by the local Chozos at the time it landed as "The Worm". Theres also the fact that the pirates couldn't even make it is they tried let alone come in contact with it at all... since you know, they were completely locked out by the artifact force field and spent practically the whole game trying to find a way around it and all. Considering we can find a Metroid Prime rotting corpse on Phaze in 3 it's safe to say that alone explains it's orgins.
And since the Metroid species didn't exist until around the time the Space Pirates took over Zebes, I'm inclined to believe the Metroid Prime isn't a real Metroid. It has similar powers and characteristics, but the Space Pirates were to ones to name it Metroid Prime and they had only just begun to study Metroids, so it was a mistake on their part but everyone just rolled with it.
Just saying, as is greatly implied by the space pirate logs, the Metroid Prime wasn't actually an experiment by the space pirates, as the Metroid Prime was on Tallon IV even before the arrival of the space pirates to Tallon IV.
+Jakob Ingersoll I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed the lore error in the video :D Btw, there's actually a theory in the wikia that suggests a different origin to the Metroid Prime, found below. metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Metroid_Prime_%28creature%29#Origin_Theory What do you think of it?
There are a few mistakes there. The manga being canon is a bit ambiguous. It is canon until the part they infuse Samus with Chozo DNA, but everything that happens afterwards is on the same level as the Zelda mangas - shouldn't really be considered canon. Also, the Federation wasn't raising Metroids for the sake of defeating the X - until Samus got attacked by it, they barely knew about its existence. They wanted to breed Metroids for military purposes. Kudos to you for not putting Other M there! Have a cookie!
There was no galactic X Plague. X are not capable of traveling through space. They would be capable if they absorb the knowledge of a capable pilot and have a space faring ship, but that’s about it. The storie goes as following: The chozo were some sort of a role model for other species, they have helped the luminoth, reptilicus and potentially even humans to establish themselves. They were a warrior race, but were on a path to put aside their war leading lifestyle in order to achieve galactic peace. They also liked to colonize other worlds. One day a branch of Chozo landed on a planet called SR388. SR388 had something never seen before. An energy source all native SR388 life had called aeion energy. The chozo wanted to learn more about it, thus began digging into the crust of the planet. Once they have established many facilities in the planets crust, after some more digging they have reached a place containing massive amounts of aeion energy. But there was something Else lurking in that cave. Creatures called X-parasites a creature native to sr388. It began infecting and assimilating many lifeforms on SR388. And began attacking the chozo (it is not clear if some chozo were infected based on the chozo memories, but judging by the nature of the X it would seem that they did infect at least some chozo). The chozo saw no choice and creates the metroids as a last resort in order to purge the parasite. After a while the x were purged. The metroids and chozo were coexisting, until they began rapidly evolving (I believe it is because of the aeion energy, because metroids evolve only on SR388 or environments similar to the planets (BSL Sector 1). They began attacking their own creators. The chozo retreated imprisoning the metroids inbetween many artificial acid seas, which can only be removed by opening up certain seals. The surviving chozo contacted their own species for help. Help arrived and greeted them with a few shots to the head. Nobody knows why those chozo killed their brothers, but it could be because they wanted to keep the events of SR388 a secret
You got some things wrong. 1. The X parasite only affectes SR 338. 2. Mother Brain isnt the leader of the space pirates, but was a creation made by the Chozo to store their knowledge. She also fused Samus with Chozo DNA and trained her alot, so its a case of the creator being killed by his/her own creation. Where have I seen that before? 3. Metroid Prime/Dark Samus was NOT created by the pirates but was formed out of the meteor that crashed a long time ago on Tallon IV and it was contained in a cave deep under the planet by the Chozo after it began to terrorize the planet. 4. In Metroid Prime 3, the federation didnt learn to make wormholes but Samus stole one of the ships that makes them.
Pretty sure the X Parasites never swept over the galaxy. Humans had never heard of them and only recently discovered the homeworld of the two species. The manga also depicts the chozo creating the Metroids specifically because they've recently discovered the X. The whole scary thing about them is that if they ever gained proper intelligence and the means of travel then there'd absolutely be no means of stopping them.
+floooooooooooooooood There are lots of errors in this video. For one the Chozo did not take over the entire universe. The Pirates did not create metroid prime, It was there already.
Well at least the Chozo ruins are wide spread throughout the galaxy and the original NSTC version of Metroid Prime had some logs about Metroid Prime absorbing pirate weapons so at a stretch those other points could be true, but the X being a dominant force of the galaxy goes very against the nature of them as a threat.
When was it ever established the Chozo were militaristic? From the wiki: "The Chozo culture seems to have been a peaceful one, prizing knowledge in all forms." The only race which thought they were an empire was the Space Pirates, who don't understand the concept of peaceful coexistence. I'm pretty sure Zebes is pronounced "zeh-behz". The Pirates did not create the Metroid Prime; they never got access to the Impact Crater. In fact, the Impact Crater was totally sealed the entire time. Nothing got in or out since the time when the Chozo activated the Cipher. (The old NTSC lore claims the Pirates had some involvement, but that's non-canon now.) The Metroid Prime was a metroid that absorbed the code of the leviathan that impacted Tallon IV, becoming an active source of phazon in the process. It was likely either attracted into the Leviathan to become its guardian, or sent in by the Chozo to destroy it. Either way, it didn't go as planned.
They also forgot that the indestructible Metroids were created to act as super weapons, not to combat the X. That's why their existence was such a shock to Samus in Fusion.
Sin A Are you referring specifically to the cold-proof Metroids in Other M? Those were made as super-weapons, yes. But ordinary Metroids were created by the Chozo to combat X Parasites.
+Philo Wintercoat I'm referring to the cold proof Metroids in Fusion that the Galactic Federation engineered using Metroid DNA. Other M never happened.
Sin A Yes, but I don't recall the Metroids in Fusion ever being referred to as cold-proof. I was under the impression that they were just cloned Metroids.
Yet a single being using these methods commits full-blown genocide several times. Kind of expresses how powerful people are when you realize that we have access to things that can kill a person with no problem. I know you guys were just looking at the humor of it, but can you turn into a ball? And even if you could, would you see the tactical advantage in it? Samus sure did.
In case your wondering, the metroid went out of control in the hands of litterally all metroid wielders, so you cant blame samus for going on a metriodocide
I find it funny that Prime 2 was the one game that wasn’t mentioned, and is also the one game where Ridley was MIA (he makes up for his absence with two fights in Prime 3 tho)
am I the only one who wants them to make books to go with the games? it would be awesome if they did something similar to Halo where the books expand the story in the games and tell it from Samus's POV
Man, I’m now seeing a lot of similarities between Metroid and Halo. Ancient alien races, galaxy ending parasites, united interstellar governments, and of course silent protagonists with awesome armor.
+gamecube-king/ devon3 he didn't even elaborate about the other bounty hunters, not to mention how samus was a member of the federation, which is covered in metroid fusion.
+gamecube-king/devon3 Yeah they play a fairly significant part in telling us of races other than the federation, chozo, prime trilogy planet inhabitants and the space pirates, external races per say.
+Link3000XD Fusion is exactly what they said in the end, she disobeys the federation orders and crash the ship containing the x-parasites and metroids into their homeworld. They did forgot about other m tho, but we should all forget other m lmao.
Other M has some serious plotholes, its plot isn't relevant to the overarching storyline in any way, shape or form and everybody hates it. Also it is quite forgettable. Metroid Fusion is in the video from 2:26.
goldengear1000 Other m acted as if the prime series never happened, with many plot holes and random elements not present in the other games. Some people go as far as claiming the game isn't canon at all.
goldengear1000 the other m plot: Samus goes in a giant space lab devided in tre sector that should resemble sr388 and other planets ecosystem , exactly like in fusion. Adam tells you what to do and where to go, like in fusion. Samus has umor disorders, probably caused by menstruation. Everyone in this space establishment is dead.A few guys, no one remembers except of Adam, die. Ridley reborns, ridley dies(metroid cliché) . Samus discovers that there are metroids in a secret sector 0 that get destroyed (exactly like in fusion). You get to know that Mother brain has reborn, then mother brain get destroyed for the third time. Things I hate of this game : 3/4 of bosses are from previous game. There are a few parts of the game were you walk in slow motion that seem interminable. From the start of the game you have all of your powerups (with only 2 exception), but Samus don't use them because she has to wait for Adam to tell her to do so. Like you are in a lava level and Samus don't activates the varia suite by herself until Adam tells you so, after you have crossed some pretty hot magma lakes. Annoying moments in the game where Samus can't move and you have to aim with the controller to 10 x 10 pixels large things. And lastly there are a few plot errors.
GF : Metroid are to dangerous. We must extermined them! Samus: Ok. Here, I keep one for your studies. GF : Ridley have stole the metroid and will use it as a weapon! Samus ok.... i fix it again! GF: Parasite X is spreding, we must recreate the metroid! Samus, take care of this and bring back a slample parasite X and Metroids for stud... Samus : I AM DONE!

+ShadowFalconPictures You must not like Metroid if you don't want a new game.
0:33 Reapers, I'm sure it was the Reapers.
Yup. Reapers. They met them first
ah yes, "reapers". The immortal race of sentient starships allegedly waiting in dark space. We have dismissed that claim.
There's actually a really long story to it that deals with the previous races, the prophetic abilities of the Chozo, how they all went insane because the Phazon planet was going to kill them all and there was nothing they could do about it, using their prophetic abilities to predict that Samus was going to exist and how they preserved all their weapons and upgrades in specific, convenient puzzle rooms for her to find, but that would've taken more than 3 minutes to convey.
assuming direct control of this fool
@@Rikard_Nilsson There was all the evidence showing Sovereign was a Reaper yet they still thought he was created by the Geth.
Actually, Dark Samus didn't actually 'team up' with the space pirates in Metroid Prime 2. She assaulted them & absorbed their phazon stash & they were pretty bent about it.
Dark Samus is just addicted to Phazon.
She controls them in Prime 3 tho.
@@jwil4286Dark Samus is basically a drug addict.😂
I like the fact that you ignored the existence of Other M.
+ElZamo92 Well, for the overall story Other M had this: Oh crap, we have this Adam guy Samus keeps talking about, we need to have a game with him in it where he is alive... Oh, and we also need an explanation as to why Ridley is a drained out husk on the research station instead of space dust...
Other M is not canon? Good.
+Eduardo Flores I mean there are tons of things in the game that make it impossible it to be canon.
It has almost the exact same plot as fusion.... except it's much, much worse
+Eduardo Flores
Canon or not, the only element it adds to the total plot of the whole of Metroid Is Adam's death, and a dumb death at that.
Neat video to Watch before Metroid Dread.
Ah, the Prime series was covered exactly as it should:
Events of Prime, ohai Dark Samus, Events of Prime 3
That thumbnail looking real prophetic right now.
Do Final Fantasy in 3 minutes!! PLZ!!
+Cody pavon and plit it into 15 parts

You mean 30 minutes?

Excuse me but what the Fuck?! The automately generated subtitles are working perfectly!!!!!!
Metroid fans collectively thank you for not including other m in this synopsis lol
I was just about to complain about it actually, until I saw the top comment
Yeah that games like the fire emblem fates of Metroid
Love the narrator here.

the place explodes.
Metroid in a nutshell.
Writter Gamer and Norion, Bryyo, Elysia, and the Pirate Homeworld.
this started like a dragon, and then ended like a snake.
you really skimped over crucial lore details in the last minute
I just loved LOVED Metroid Fusion. Hyped to know what happens next because she has no allies now
Will there be a game afterwards Fusion?
Fabio Jovanovich We hope there will be

You a bird that dodges random crap for infinity the end...
That game isn't relevent enough. Try again
Never heard about Metroid and couldn't care less, but the animations and narration are golden. Love this XD
Just saying, as is greatly implied by the space pirate logs, the Metroid Prime wasn't actually an experiment by the space pirates, as the Metroid Prime was on Tallon IV even before the arrival of the space pirates to Tallon IV.
+Jakob Ingersoll
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed the lore error in the video :D
Btw, there's actually a theory in the wikia that suggests a different origin to the Metroid Prime, found below.
metroid.wikia.com/wiki/Metroid_Prime_%28creature%29#Origin_Theory
What do you think of it?
now we need an extra 15 minutes to explain metroid dread's plot here
Until Metroid dread comes out and the x parasite starts fuckin with shit again.
I wonder what the real world equivalent of phazon would be. Also I laughed so hard with the handshake animation
+TwilightWolf032
Another mistake was the video stating that Metroid Prime was a project created by Space Pirates.
@1:35 That twerking Space Pirate Scientist is the best animation ever made! It even goes with the beat.
She's like "I've learned my lesson, fuck this shit I'm blowing it all up, I'm done."
That was actually pretty accurate, I'm really impressed!
Love how Other M got no mention at all
Metroid other m, the skyward sword of the metroid games.
Except Skyward Sword actually had a good story and Characters
Random Rupies You think Fi is a good charcter?
Still better than Navi if you look objectively at it.
+Zinski groose is
There was no galactic X Plague.
Good point. I just don't think the creators know much about what they are talking about.
this shows that we actually need more metroid games cause 3 minutes was enough to talk about all of them
+Konnichiwa Himura-san Nope he skipped 1/3 of the storyline.
what kind of galactic threat can be stopped by a single person?
all of them, apparently.
It's not JUST a single person, it's Samus Aran
+TheDittoChannel and Luke Skywalker
and everyone else in a sci-fi/sci-fan story ever
Basically
Your going to need more then 3 minutes for this series
too bad you didn't mention all the times she lost all her powers... and Y... or anything about the SAXs
Too bad you cant fit everything in in 3 minutes.
morantNO1 ikr );
"Cough" Metroid other M missing ;3
Le what? I cant hear you.
There are a bunch of errors in this. But you redeemed it all by omitting Other M. Excellent work lads.
When was it ever established the Chozo were militaristic?
From the wiki: "The Chozo culture seems to have been a peaceful one, prizing knowledge in all forms."
The only race which thought they were an empire was the Space Pirates, who don't understand the concept of peaceful coexistence.
(The old NTSC lore claims the Pirates had some involvement, but that's non-canon now.)
The Metroid Prime was a metroid that absorbed the code of the leviathan that impacted Tallon IV, becoming an active source of phazon in the process.
Sin A I don't recall those being cold-proof.
+Philo Wintercoat
I'm referring to the cold proof Metroids in Fusion that the Galactic Federation engineered using Metroid DNA.
Other M never happened.
Sin A Yes, but I don't recall the Metroids in Fusion ever being referred to as cold-proof.
I was under the impression that they were just cloned Metroids.
Really interesting stuff. Subscribed
the forgot fighting methods of the Chozo include: shooting
jumping, turning into a ball...
they don't seem very talented tbh
Yet a single being using these methods commits full-blown genocide several times. Kind of expresses how powerful people are when you realize that we have access to things that can kill a person with no problem.
I know you guys were just looking at the humor of it, but can you turn into a ball? And even if you could, would you see the tactical advantage in it? Samus sure did.
In case your wondering, the metroid went out of control in the hands of litterally all metroid wielders, so you cant blame samus for going on a metriodocide
I love how metroid m was completely ignored
+Maagic Not canon :)
+Magnum_Koichi what! is that true?
Andres D. It is in every Metroid Fan's mind.
+Maagic xD ok then
+Maagic i think you overdo it a little bit guys. fine, there some errors, but the rest can be considered canon
I find it funny that Prime 2 was the one game that wasn’t mentioned, and is also the one game where Ridley was MIA (he makes up for his absence with two fights in Prime 3 tho)
so fusion is the last ? wow thats cool

am I the only one who wants them to make books to go with the games? it would be awesome if they did something similar to Halo where the books expand the story in the games and tell it from Samus's POV
The space pirates discover Fazzon, but it kills them all, Samus gets the destress signal, but she kills them all.

Hamdan Alnoaimi yep :/
+gamecube-king/ devon3 he didn't even elaborate about the other bounty hunters, not to mention how samus was a member of the federation, which is covered in metroid fusion.
Mr Meh the others wich are playable in metroid prime hunter on nintendo DS?
+gamecube-king/devon3 Yeah they play a fairly significant part in telling us of races other than the federation, chozo, prime trilogy planet inhabitants and the space pirates, external races per say.
I was afraid you were gonna take out the Prime games from the timeline and put in Other M. Instead, you did the total opposite! Brilliant! :)
so whats with fusion and other m?
+Link3000XD Fusion is exactly what they said in the end, she disobeys the federation orders and crash the ship containing the x-parasites and metroids into their homeworld. They did forgot about other m tho, but we should all forget other m lmao.
*****
i liked other M. but they forgot about samus getting infected with the x-virus.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. They had to infuse her with Metroid DNA and her suit comes to life. That seems kind of important.
Honestly, for how convoluted Other M is, it has little impact on the overall plot of the franchise. I'm thankful for this...
Other M has some serious plotholes, its plot isn't relevant to the overarching storyline in any way, shape or form and everybody hates it. Also it is quite forgettable.
Metroid Fusion is in the video from 2:26.
Samus: Receives distress message
Also Samus: Oh boy, here I go killing again
Why isn't Other M mentioned? The story sucked but it was still important to the plot.
goldengear1000 Other m acted as if the prime series never happened, with many plot holes and random elements not present in the other games. Some people go as far as claiming the game isn't canon at all.
THE GAME WAS COMPLETE SHIT! NEVER MENTION "IT" AGAIN!!
Master Roshi I agree, but it's still important to the story of the games.
goldengear1000 the other m plot:
Samus goes in a giant space lab devided in tre sector that should resemble sr388 and other planets ecosystem , exactly like in fusion.
Things I hate of this game :
3/4 of bosses are from previous game.
