    Hello Josh ! I've passed the TOEFL and I almost get the scores required ! Thanks to you and your videos, I got 91 ( R:21, L: 25, S : 22, W: 23 - I had to have 25 on the writing test so I have to re-sit the examen but I only had 1 month to prepare for the exam so I'm already grateful for this score) ! Unfortunately, the themes were about science and it's not my favorite subject haha so I believe that it influenced my ability to understand the reading questions ; anyway, I hope I will get the right point next time.
    So a big THANK YOU for your precious advices and your help !

    Hey Josh, thank you so much for making these videos, they are a blessing. I have been studying with you since a week already and will be giving my TOEFL next week. I had one quick question, how do you tackle questions like 'How does the professor organize the lecture?' I have tried answering these during practice and have been wrong for most part. Once again, thanks a ton for doing this, you're an awesome teacher!

      If you need a more in-depth explanation, you might want to meet with a TOEFL teacher to discuss some of these nuances to help clear it up, since it is difficult to get too granular in a TH-cam comment, sorry. Hello Josh, I don't know if you will see this, but I shall say it anyway. Thanks for your help, I got a score of 101 ( R29, L25, W24, S23). My score would've been higher if this two things didn't happen.
    1. My monitor got disconnected, so I had to wait for approximately 5 mins and couldn't edit my text by the end
    2. I usually speak in a low voice, so having to speak louder took me aback.
    If not it could've been a score of 110. Nevertheless, the university need a score of 80, so I'm good.

      Hi Charlotte and great question. No, it's not very common. You will see it at most twice on the actual test, but most see it once or not at all.

    Hi! I have a question. I am trying to improve my reading and listening score (those are around 23 now). I watched the TH-cam videos etc. However, with the listening parts I keep making very different mistakes (for e.g. one time it is a majority of detail questions, and the other time it is gist-content questions). Do you have any advice for this? And for the reading part the answer sheet sometimes says "A is correct. The answer B is true, but A fits better". How do I choose one if they are both true?

    • @TSTPrep
      @TSTPrep  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You would have to work with a teacher to get a more specific answer, but everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Listening tends to measure your ability to understand the gist of what is being said, while the reading focuses more on details. So, even if your comprehension might be fairly high, when it comes to looking at details and figuring out the difference between statements it is more of a challenge. This is just a guess, though. You can always meet with a teacher for a trial lesson if you want more specific answers for yourself at this link - tstprep.com/toefl-store/toefl-trial-lesson/

    Hello Josh
    Can you please answer this doubt ..... in reading passage we get last question for a two or three points always and if we mark two points correct and one point wrong then how will it be marked?
    Is it going to be zero or prorated points?😬😬please answer I have my exam upcoming week

    • @TSTPrep
      @TSTPrep  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Summary questions are worth two points. If all three choices are correct, you get two points. If two
      choices are correct and one is incorrect, you get one point. If two or more choices are incorrect, you earn zero points for the given question.
      Organization questions are worth three points. If all five choices are correct, you get three points. If
      four choices are correct and one is incorrect, you get two points. If three choices are correct and two are incorrect, you get one point. If three or more choices are incorrect, you earn zero points.
      Hope this helps. Good luck on your test!

    why the hell is the listening questions types important? just understand how to take notes for both the lecture and the conversation and that's it.
