I love seeing little, mini adventures into your back yard. Hope you will show bits and pieces of your dress making as well. Picking out lovely fabrics and using the scraps in your journals would be fun to see. xx

Lynn I absolutely love this journal. The size, the pages, everything! I am working on faces too and I think each one we draw has her own personality. I'm more into whimsical faces than nailing a portrait. I love the faces you have in this sweet journal. 🩷🩷🩷

Lynn, Sally Lunn bread is so good! That tavern is in Williamsburg., I grew up spending Sundays there! I’m in Richmond,less than an hour away. Sally Lunn bread is a tad sweet, but so good! You should visit Williamsburg some time. It’s where the first town was,near Jamestown settlement. Very historic area!
Hi Lei! My sister lived in Yorktown for a time, and I used to love going to see her and visiting Williamsburg, Yorktown, etc., but I never saw or tried Sally Lunn bread. You know how it is when you're just visiting, but I bet she's heard of it. I will have to get my hands on some!! Thank you! xx

Lynn, I've never heard of cryptomeria trees. Are they evergreen? And do they have a fragrance? I love that you have a little hiding place in your grove.
Love what you're doing with the journal, too. I really like your faces that you do, and you inspire me to try it myself. I've done a few now. Thanks for the inspiration you provide.
Hi Linda! Yes, they are evergreen. No fragrance. I do see butterflies on them sometimes, so I wonder if they are a host plant? Not sure. Will have to look that up. The deer love laying under them. Birds love them. I had never heard of them either. Jason planted them years ago. So glad he did! xx

Is that a common size of backyard in your part of the States? It looks HUGE to me. No wonder the deer like to play there.
I think it depends on exactly where you live. For example, most of the old neighborhoods like this one, I would say it is common. The closer you get to downtown, the yards get smaller. I love it here. xx
