Peak Search on your CD player is for adjusting the volume. It takes you to the point with highest volume on your CD and plays that part continuously, so that you adjust your volume on your MD recorder.

Did you know you can have your CD and MD deck synchronize? Look it up - the two can talk and automatically adjust the CD recordings. :)

Oh WOW @ 7.46 the Sony MDS-JB930 what a machine! Sony knew how to make MD decks :-D - Note: If you are recording in DIGITAL to DIGITAL you would NOT need to adjust the recording level.

Why are you going analogue in to the MD Recorder?

Didn’t know if there was some specific reason to use analog in your case.

Buy a tos-link cable and you can make 1 direct digital to digital copy. Using analog inputs sort of defeats the purpose.

I Record With Analog All The Time And It’s Still Digital And Always Sounds Great To Me, Not Everything Has To Be Optical And TOS-Link.
