There's also the three elements in Silent Hill 2, Blood, Darkness and the Mist, repesented by three colors. Darkness is the obsidian globet, which is black; Mist is the white crism and Red is Book of Lost Memories.
But you also need the green book which, indeed, is "The Book of Lost Memories", the red one is called: "The Book of Crimson Ceremony" and is in the Reading Room of the Lake View Hotel (Other World version), the green book is found among the newspapers around the "Texxon Gas Station".
Not just SH2, but also SH4.

It's worth observing that, within the Silent Hill games, the sun itself is rarely if ever present. Either occluded by thick fog or pouring rain, or absent entirely. The sun does not shine on Silent Hill. At least, not during the events of the games.
Where the protagonists go and where folk like the Order are trapped, there is no shining light. No gold to be found. Only darkness, obscuring fog, and _filth._
They wallow in the impurities of the physical world, wrestling with the horrors they created through their immoral action and hubris. Only when the protagonists reconcile themselves with these impurities - go through the process of decay and through the crucible - does the sun shine upon them. Only then may they leave the impure filth-world of the transformed Silent Hill.
In the case of Harry, who gave Cheryl a reason to live (a better life / memories), it was more about embodying the Sun yourself. Burning through death and decay to find what can still grow.

"The Path of the Hermit", "Alchemilla Hospital" and even "Aglaophotis", from the first game, all sound very "alchemy" to me. Maybe, that is because, the influence of Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain, in which the main plot revolves around this exact same topic.
Now, I don't know if the Tarot Puzzle in Silent Hill 3 could be included in the same category of the aforementioned, or if belongs to the occult category or both at the same time.
I would like to watch Muse talking about the tarot and more related subjects.

I'm actually really glad you mentioned Jodorowsky's _Holy Mountain._ I swear, my sense of humor is totally broken. When I saw that lump of gold, my brain was screaming. _"You are excrement. You can turn yourself into gold."_ Heheh. Poops. :]
But yeah, I'm curious to know what "the path of the hermit" really means. All of Dahlia's mumbo-jumbo is curious. Especially when she mentioned gyromancy. I can totally see her performing that ritual, just twirling away. _Whoop-a-dee-whoop-whoop!_
@@MadamFoogie The first game it's, for me, the more cartoony of all of the games in the series. I don't know if that was on purpose or by accident. Aside from the examples you mention, we have the head of a dog that seems to have been thrown to the basket next to it, and continuing with the canine "jokes" we also have the "there is no dog around" statement when checking the dog house and everyone that has played the game knows that, in fact, there are two dogs around that spot.
Speaking about the Holy Mountain, it has more scenes that contain a weird sense of humor like the party at the cemetery and maybe the most joke-like scene of the entire movie is the "sex machine" scene, which looks like a sketch taken directly from a comedy show 🤣 but, at least, Jodorowsky did this kind of things with the intention of making social, religious, psychological and sexual commentaries among others to awake people's perception through the individual allegories that give form to the whole movie.

The TH-camr "Reinstall Paul" made also a very good Series about the Occult and Alchemical Symbolism of Silent Hill.
I've been watching his stuff, too. He's very good at highlighting the more Kabbalistic/Goetic mythos-- deep occult stuff that I wouldn't want in my search history. I don't agree with everything he posits, but I think the vast majority of it is sound. His style is direct, while hers is a bit more cinematic. But being able to observe and compare between these two is a real privilege. Their research overlaps, which validates their accuracy. Plus, both of these creators enjoy public discourse. ^_^
I think they've collaborated before, or are at least aware of one another. I seem to recall one of them mentioning the other.

I can't help remember "Fullmetal Alchemist" everytime when I hear or read about the main law of alchemy.

Another banger on the lore of Silent Hill. I forgot to ask you about QuestWithAaron and that he actually made a video mainly about Twilight Princess a few months ago on how completely different the original Japanese Texts of this game is compare to how we know the narrative in English and honestly I feel like Nintendo has robbed us of the true story of what the twilight realm really is and I want to share this video with you since you mentioned that twilight princess is your favorite zelda game!

Could you interpret in your way an UFO ending in Sillent Hill franchise? It would be great to watch your videos about aliens in SH and I didn't see any.

A new Silent Hill was leak and it's a PS5 exclusive with kojima continuing the project.
It's not confirmed yet. Also, the images looked a lot like The Medium, because, the creators of that game could be the ones that will make the new Silent Hill game if it's real.
Apparently Kojima isn't involved in this game, instead Bloober Team is, the same devs that created Layers of Fear, The Medium, Blair Witch, among others. This really get me skeptical because their games has a whole different style of psychological horror which is not even closer to the style made by the great Team Silent, in other words, I heavely doubt they're gonna include deep themes such "alchemy", just like we can see in this well researched video.

@@NormanReaddis Absolutely, Bluepoint would do something magnificent out of a remake. SOTC is another of my favorite videogames ever.

Alchemy as a forerunner of chemistry ? One of the most ignorant and incognizant
things that has ever been said; chemistry is the drift of alchemy, empty of the soul presence, therefore of the final truth; chemistry is the cold, disconnected, mechanistic ( and lacking ) version of Alchemy
interesting video, but you really lack any emotion in your voice. it's like some old propaganda presentation, rather than a subject you're genuinely interested in.
