Its funny, I’m fully physical on ps5 and fully digital on xsx due to the games not actually being on the disc. And with that, over half the xbox games are gamepass so i basically dont own anything 😢. Shame on them for doing that. Hopefully sony doesn’t go down the same road.

Just like you, I was turned off by the turn based stuff and never played a Final Fantasy game until FF7 Remake. To me, it was awesome. Combat flows well and is fast, but you still have control of your teammates and their abilities. I have been having a blast with Rebirth, but it's a big one. 15 or so hours in and I'm not even at chapter 3. Loved Prince of Persia earlier in the year and really looking forward to Stellar Blade. Game looks super fun and it'll piss off the they/thems, so... bonus points. lol.
I just beat Dragon's Dogma 2 and I gotta say... It's 35 hours of walking with 5 hours of combat. It's filled with fetch quests which are annoying af when you have to walk everywhere. Game looks great, combat is fun, pawn/job system wonderful, but lack of fast travel makes 5 hours of content fill 40.
I was subscribed but used to watch all your videos to completion. TH-cam used to recommend all your videos to me and when I typed in top PS5 games you were on the top of my results always. Recently I tried to find your channel (forgot the name) but did typical searches and even looked at my history. And I couldn’t find a single result. Was very odd but I thought you got kicked off the platform. Hey Newtro, great vid, as always. I ignored FF7 remake for years because, like you, I'm not a fan of turn-based combat. Then I decided to give it a go a few weeks ago, and also just started Rebirth. They are not turn-based, the combat is free-flowing. You can freeze time to issue commands to team mates, or select spells and abilities, but you can also add the ones you use the most to shortcuts, so that you can use them without freezing time. So, it has elements of turn-based but you certainly do not have to wait your turn before attacking like the original. You do have to charge your ATB gauge before you use special abilities. You do this by using your standard attacks, which are completely free-flowing. Please don't pass on these games, as they are excellent. If you buy the digital version of Rebirth, they throw in Remake and the InterMISSION DLC free of charge.

FF7 Rebirth is my comeback to the franchise. It is a big game 60 hours plus and I fell like I have just made a dip. Unfortunately, it had to go on the backlog simply because of other game releases that took priority.
I got a PS5 for Rebirth and it didn't disappoint. Game is amazing but now I'm looking for a next game to play since Rebirth was my first PS5 game and I'm finishing it now. I fear nothing else can compare to my first game now lol I'm not seeing anything yet I really want
Just for the record, there's no "turn-based" combat in the actual Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth games. If you play the OG 1997 version of the game, then yes, it's turn-based combat. In the newer games, it's real-time combat, punctuated by when you use your personal button to activate skills, spells, abilities, limit breaks, summons, and so forth. In that case, it just slows time down quite a bit allowing you to make your decision. But 99.9% of the time, you're in a traditional button-masher combat. Some of the many mini-games are turn-based, but those are largely optional and the turns make some sense in that context. So don't be afraid to dive into those games thinking you'll be faced with turn combat, it's not really a thing.
Totally someone else mentioned it! After this video I’m 12 hours into FF7 Remake and oh my gosh I am absolutely loving it. The story the combat it’s INCREDIBLE… Slowly becoming my favourite game lol. I love the slow down in time in order to access the mini menu for abilities. I can’t get enough. Thanks for the comment dude!!
Here's hoping most of these games actually land this year & in good states, i will pick them a few months after release, physical, when the cost goes down & most of the bugs have been ironed out. Black Myth has been on my list since footage was released many years back, i hope it looks & plays the way it does in the gameplay trailers & that we dont see a significant downgrade on console. Vanishers & Prince look good, i enjoyed Vampyr, the Life is Strange series & most recently, Jusaunt from Dontnod. It's cool to see them mix it up and try different styles of game. Thanks for the heads up on these interesting looking games coming this year. Shame about London Studios closing as i know they were involved in the Getaway games back on PS2, shame we never got a third game & now never will. Would be interesting to see if we get a little taster of what Bend has been working on since Day's Gone 2 wasn't greenlit. Great video. Good luck with renewing the follicles👍
I'm really looking forward to no rest for the wicked! Finished banishers recently...great game but to me it got a little repetitive after awhile. Lack of diversity in the enemies was also a complaint i would have. I found myself rushing through it as it got closer to the end...i was sort of over it
I wish mortal Kombat would do another game along the lines of mortal Kombat deception or deadly alliance. If you remember, both of those games had a open world element built into it which was fantastic and both of the games were great, especially deception. Can you imagine that but in 2024? If you're not old enough to have played the two games I'm talking about, you're missing out. Probably have to get an old console and get a physical copy or something.

Gotten to the point in my life where multiplayer games are just not for me at all. I don't have the time or energy to deal with more stress or BS...so I retired MP games and am only playing single player experiences. Playing the games I want and not having to worry about BS or FOMO
It's silent hill 2, alone in the dark, rise of the ronin, and a few indie games for me (if the indies come out this yr). Btw rise of the ronin has multiplayer online for up to 3 more players for the story.
I just bought Helldivers II on my PC so my game time is fully booked on that. That is until steller blade drops. I'll be getting that straight away. Jiggle, jiggle, jiggle 😜
Prince of persia is my number one game so far this year and I still think it will be hard to top. But dragons dogma and rise of ronin stellar blade and black myth have a shot. But prince of persia was practically perfect

I loved banshers great story solid gameplay I got the bad ending cause I couldn’t sacrifice enough people 🤷🏽♂️ and bought to dive into FF7 and then rise of the ronin and dragons dogma 2 great list!
The only game I care for this year till 2025 is phantom blade zero and maybe black myth. Almost gave in to rise of the ronin but idc much for souls like games. I have to beat Sekiro before I can jump on that one.
Rise on Ronin doesn't look as beautiful as tsushima did but I'm looking forward to the review of that game. Just bought ff7 rebirth. Remake is a great game so if rebirth is half as good then I'll have gotten my moneys worth

Gotten to the point in my life where multiplayer games are just not for me at all. I don't have the time or energy to deal with more stress or BS...so I retired MP games and am only playing single player experiences. Playing the games I want and not having to worry about BS or FOMO
It's silent hill 2, alone in the dark, rise of the ronin, and a few indie games for me (if the indies come out this yr). Btw rise of the ronin has multiplayer online for up to 3 more players for the story.

Prince of persia is my number one game so far this year and I still think it will be hard to top. But dragons dogma and rise of ronin stellar blade and black myth have a shot. But prince of persia was practically perfect

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. Even if it's just a DLC you're looking at a good 30-40 hours to complete.

Just got a PS5 in December been playing more of the cheaper older games at the moment lot of catching up to do. Went from Resident evel 8 to Metro exedous now playing Wreckfest

Glad you've stuck at it! Banishers surprised me at how much I enjoyed it too and I'm proper looking forward to Rise of the Ronin, typical that it releases the same day as Dragons Dogma 2 but I'm definitely playing Rise first, hopefully it'll temporarily help scratch my Ghost of Tsushima itch for a while till that sequel comes along!

The only game I care for this year till 2025 is phantom blade zero and maybe black myth. Almost gave in to rise of the ronin but idc much for souls like games. I have to beat Sekiro before I can jump on that one.
