Carolyn's reaction when she left the stage is something like "omg I can't believe I just played with Bonnie Raitt" is so sweet! I'm a big fan of both, amazing musicians!
Carolyn is not trying to copy no one, she is original and totally one of a kind, absolutely fantastic voice. Soul searching voice and one great guitar player.
If we're going to talk or if anybody is going to say anything I think we would start off with people like Mahalia Jackson if we want to compare vocal styles but obviously people.. women.. artists.... who can sing from the bottoms of their feet to the top of their heads are carrying something that might be known as the Black Cross of the Blues, and for those who don't know what that is I suggest they go back and listen to this song again and maybe they'll catch on this time After all I once heard my Father Jesus saying that all that was necessary was that we would believe for he said with God nothing is impossible, so I guess the operative word here would be "with" as in "with God" Nuff said..
I can't believe I had forgotten about this young diva. She is the real deal alright. Kickin' out the jambs and rockin' the joint! Just try to sit still!!!
@@KB-ke3fi I have noticed that the greats, in any profession, are usually humble and down to earth. The mediocre and less can be real jerks. I think they know they're not that good and lash out to protect themselves. That's my observation anyway.
@@KB-ke3fi So true. I see her at the Continental Club with Shelley King as often as possible, She is the sweetest. Makes me so proud to see my friend there with Bonnie.
Both are incredible -- Bonnie Raitt's been inducted into the Blues Foundation and Rock 'n' Roll Halls of Fame while Carolyn Wonderland is now the first female lead guitarist with the legendary John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, joining the ranks of Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Mick Taylor among others.
Did not. But accidentally came across her...Amazing young Lady. Then I found her singing with Bonnie Raitt 😍💕 I live in the South and love everyone. However, Bonnie will back out....how precious is that? True Lady. 👍
I heard Pops Staples sing this song back in the late '90s not long before he died. He was feeble and someone helped as he walked out and helped him sit down in a chair. He picked up his acoustic guitar and did the most amazing rendition of Ain't nobodys fault but mine - he was old his body was weak but his voice and his soul were powerful. I felt very lucky to have been there.
Carolyn is a powerful and expressive singer and an excellent guitar player. It's so great to hear a new and refreshing slant on blues. Of course Bonnie Raitt is excellent as always. It's so good to see some ladies really delivering the blues as it should be sung and played. Awesome !!!
Since 1969 JOHN MAYALL has been an important companion for me as a blues fan. On the occasion of his 85th Aniversity Tour in Europe, CAROLYN WONDERLAND was in his band. So far she has not noticed me - but NOW !!! Now I saw and heard them together with the BONNY RAITT, which I have been paying attention to for quite some time, and I am very excited! "Is not Nobody's Fault But Mine" was holding my breath! Welcome Carolyn, you have a new fan in Germany!
Bonnie Raitt, from the South, you are really the first talented Artist I admire. You own your own style, but the reason I've you, I was there when you performed with Aaron Neville and you just backed up, and patted your heart ❤. Tell it like it is, Bless you Sister ♥
Sang the hell outta that song! Bonnie is so respectful and impressed too! Two red headed, guitar slingin, women on the stage at the same time! Carolyn reminds me a bit of Janis Joplin but with less gravel....passion off the chart!
I think the difference between Carolyn and Janis (Although I hate comparing artists) is that even though Carolyn has that SAME level of Joplin's passion, she doesn't let it "take over" her voice or performance. She reigns it in to preserve a bit more "polish" for the listener. I just learned of her and am going to check out more.
Lots of soul from Ms. Wonderland. But, Bonnie Raitt has got to be one of the coolest, badass women ever! She is coming to town in a few months and I can't wait!
Awesome just learned of Carolyn now.....she is powerful and passionate....Bonnie Raitt good soul for letting steal the show.....but we all know the greatness of Bonnie......love it and thank Daryl Hall he had the info on his LFDH......
Exactly; and the"outroduction" almost put her over the top... **"The TWO hardest working women in show business"**. You could tell being placed at the "level" of Bonnie nearly made her piss herself! :-)... Such power and yet such humility. Just think about how rare that is these days.
I LOVE seeing the Fibes drums on stage! All American gear made right in Austin, Texas. Thank you Tommy and Stacey Robinson for creating such fabulous equipment. Without question, discerning drummers of the world - I for certain being among them - are going to miss you. Glad to say I still own one of your NAMM show sets; I kick myself for ever selling the other...but they went to a grateful, appreciative individual.
Poor bonnie in this one she not even gonna try and beat these vocals !!!! "Carolyn wonderland just knocks this tune out the vocals this young lady hit's un flippin real a must listen !!!!
Oh yeah, she was like, "holy crap, I just played with Bonnie Raitt"! Looked like she was gonna cry. And... they played on of my favorite songs. Just some trivia: I was in a medical trauma rehab center in New York back in 1988 after I was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident. I made friends with an older woman who was there because she fell off a ladder and hurt her neck, I think. We always spoke in the rehab's gym and whenever we met around the hospital. One day she told me her daughter was finally able to come and see her. And who walks in? Bonnie Raitt. I was talking to Bonnie's mom and dad for weeks (I was there for five months) without knowing! Ya never know...
understanding opinions though I think her expressions was acknowledging her realizing that she...with Bonnie backing... nailed that tune big time to the wall.. excellent, thanks for posting.
