Look at the sheer joy on Bonnie's face when NJ starts singing. I know that look. I was sitting 2nd row watching Waylon look at Willie just like that. Music done by real pros is sometimes just 🎩 magic.

At 16 in the 60’s, my dad took me and singing partner from school to Miami Beach. Lots of stories, but here’s one that applies. We were at Wolfies on the beach making a little noise embarrassing my father and somebody says well we’ll pay for your dessert if you’ll sing a song we’ve been singing at the table) they ask for Tennessee waltz. We surprised the whole place cause we sang it in harmony through the whole first verse and shock them and my dad and then I got a hot fudge sundae! Sorry that is all I got😢just a memory
Norah Jones is all class. She's an absolute genius without trying and she never seems fazed by the occasion or company - rightfully so as she is in a league of her own. Charismatic, talented and stunning to boot!
Few voices on the planet bring me to tears. Norah Jones's is one of them. She just opens her mouth, her voice emerges, and the tears roll from my eyes...
These two women have a special relationship with not only their instruments but also with their vocal interpretation of this special standard. Feelings and sonorous grace combined gives us everything we could want for their rendition!! Thank you both for all you give!! ♥️
The combination of these two wonderful women musicians let you hear and feel the suffering of this person’s lost love and maybe even our own sadness of a lost love!!! Thank you both!! ♥️🙏❤️
I've been chosen to do this song as a solo in our Senior Chorus (Ballston Spa). This has been a favorite of mine since my childhood in the '50's, even as a child.
This pairing is fantastic. Both are excellent instrumentalists who take solos (and crush em), and both are great singers! And they have an obvious chemistry. So damn good.
Well it's obvious to me: she has no self-confidence at all. She's like a scared little girl alongside Bonnie Raitt. There are plenty of others like this - great musicians who get mentored by a world class player but who really can't make it on their own (for example, Robert Cray with Eric Clapton).
I heard an interview years ago when she had a surge in main stream popularity. She wanted a jazz career and not be cornered into trying to write billboard hits.
WOW can you imagine losing your spouse and best friend too? Smh. My sincerest condolences to anyone who has had to overcome such devastating circumstances. I commend you! MUCH LOVE FROM NEW ORLEANS EVERYONE ❤️
As a somewhat reluctant High School prefect in Australia, one duty as one was to organise the Annual School Dance, this song was always the closure. Loves lost and made on that final night. Slow movement and lots of swaying.
