VW is the only known automotive group to allow internal feuds without ending like Leyland. Even though some of them were simply left both parts to die, see Skoda vs Seat in WRC.
it's not just FIA runs WEC, it's ACO as well, also don't forget Audi was diesel engine compared to a petrol engine that was in porsche. The reason that they got 8 races is down to costs and the teams are happy to have 8 races, you have to think about LMGT3 and their budgets as they are customer teams with bronze-rated drivers, drivers like Ben Kearting have businesses outside of WEC/IMSA, considering that WEC have races ranging from 6 hours, 8 hours/1812km and 24 hours
Audi had very little competition in the early years; beating privateers until Peugeot turned up..... Nick Tandy's stint in the night at Le Mans was mighty, and what is what won them the race, not Hulkenburg.
@@Keckegenkai Peugeot had chronic bad luck at Le Mans. The 908 was fast but had a tendency to catch fire. The diesel R18s were slower but much, much more reliable. The cars weren’t like the Hypercars of today, much more unreliable.
Yeah, they're doing it the right way, even with all the manufacturers we now have. Contrast with the WRC, who only has 2.5 manufacturers, but will have 14 rounds next season - madness....... One series is well run, the other isn't.
The brands Porsche and Audi are owned by the Volkswagen Group, but the Volkswagen Group is owned by Porsche SE. Both Volkswagen and Porsche were founded by the same family (Porsche, now Porsche-Piëch), which resulted in a feud. In the end, Volkswagen gained control of the Porsche brand, but Porsche gained control of Volkswagen and its subsidiaries, including Audi, through their holding company. So it's all Porsche in the end, always has been.
Ah yes, “fire”…. Like second being a lap down on first 😅 Not gonna lie, I do prefer the current health of the WEC because while LMP1 now holds nostalgia, it wasn’t the most exciting thing in the world to watch - especially when reliability often decided the outcome over pace and strategy
Got to thank and appreciate VW higher ups for allowing the two companies take their own approach to the problem
They were probably laughing their way to the bank 😂😂

Not in the wrc but skoda is quite competetive in wrc2 still

Another good video to get me through these drives for work 😂 I love learning about this stuff

No
thats why Peugeot only won once during that era?

Tbf, “little competition” feels a bit insulting to the fact that Pescarolo nearly beat Audi on at Le Mans on a couple of occasions!
Mate, the Bentley didn’t just “share technology” it WAS an Audi R8 underneath the bodywork 😂😂
Automotive Family Feuds. Audi vs Porsche 2015 in a nutshell.
It would be awesome to have the motoring show mixed with the game show. Maybe. If done correctly.
we can have another VW battle between Porche and Lamborghini if Lamborghini and Iron Lynx become a front runner team
Great video, keep up the hard work
Just so glad more manufacturers are entering endurance racing , Ferrari in the last 2 races at Le Mans as been most exciting
Ferrari in the WEC full stop has been absolutely brilliant, they’ve really shaken up Toyota
8 races make it feel like an exclusive event 3:42

Make a video for the 2016 and 2017 seasons please 🤩

What a thrilling season. WEC was fire during those LMP1 days.
