      Hi Mary, I'm glad to read that you did what you could. I do have strength workouts that are easier than this one to get you started if you wish. I have 6 levels of calendars on my website. If you're interested, you can find the calendars under the tab 'workout calendars' at the top of the website (www.improvedhealthforseniors.com).

    Thanks for how you are having us progress. Slow and steady. I have to share a chuckle however. As I’m on the floor doing the plank a giant (in my mind and it truly was) basement spider came into my view. It stopped when I assume it saw me and I held the pose until 30 seconds and then escorted it outside. Ok I called my husband and asked him to remove it to the great outdoors where it should be😆

    A good challenging workout, thank you, Jules🙏
    The walking lunges were tough, but I did them at a slower pace...did the plank on my forearms, counting aloud the way you do...managed 30...when my voice started wavering; at 45, had to take a break...😄...that's the beauty of your sessions, challenging oneself is customized😅

      Congrats for trying it, and for succeeding!!! A great way to keep progressing is to put your knees down as needed on the floor, lift them up when you can, and place them down again when it gets too difficult. It protects your back, and will help you to get stronger over time (only put your knees down when you are doing the plank on your forearms, not with straight arms).

    Two important comments I neglected to add after the other leg session: Option for quad stretch with leg on chair is your gift to me. Also appreciate you telling us that squats and lunges raise our heart rate. 💓These workouts, coupled with your others, have made stronger and I do see definition. 😍

    • @ImprovedHealth
      @ImprovedHealth  ปีที่แล้ว

      A massive YAY to you seeing definition and being stronger!!! If you often go for walks, you can also squeeze in a few sets of walking lunges or squats, too:) It definitely adds up by squeezing them in that way.

      @@ImprovedHealth Another "can do", along with your two minutes challenges. Thank you. You might recall I am prone to jokingly complain about the "dreaded squats", but I secretly don't mind them -- even the hold and/or pulse. They have proved necessary in dealing with recovering from BPPV wherein bending over to pick up something off the floor is not an option. Let's just say I work in a LOT of squats! Seriously so so grateful they're so doable.

    Very nice! Thanks!
    I will start a short course of pulmonary rehab in a few weeks (asthma). In the eval, I had to walk for 6 minutes, lift a 2 pound dumbbell for 1 minute and then do sit to stands for a minute. Uh, oh, I actually did better than I expected on the sit to stands, but could only do 16. My knees yell at me when doing these, so I tend to not do them. I do squats instead so i don’t need to go as low. Definitely something to work on!
    I moved from wall plank to my knees today.

    • @ImprovedHealth
      @ImprovedHealth  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does sound like you did well, Sharon. 16 sit-to-stands is something to be proud of, and it definitely makes it hard when your knees don't like them. Squats or sit-to-stands are essential though for staying strong. I have a video with my dad for strengthening the legs (which in turn supports the knees). If you want the link, let me know.

    The calf raises have been great. I was wobbly when not wearing shoes and I’m noticing more foot stability.

    Another great morning of exercises. I love this one and I did again both the cardio (which was superb) and the strength , great combination to begin the day in the right way. Today I tried to follow your speed and it felt great, I love the fact that each exercises routine can be done at your own pacel. Thanks Jules again for a amazing routine. Have a great day!

    Ohhh my calves lol that was fantastic.....I'm loving planks at end.. getting so into them. I stuck with lunge from before. Is it just me or do other people find it harder on one leg than the other lol. Roll in day 9...yeeee haaaaa

    Love you

      Wow, Patricia! You are amazing and I hope you are proud of being able to do this workout at 80 AND can do the plank. I am assuming you have led an active lifestyle. Absolutely impressive! As for a plan after, if you look at the description under the video, I have given options for ways to move forward.

    Loved this routine for legs. I felt they worked hard. Thanks Jules. Please tell me how many times a week I should do this a specific workout or if it is better to finish de 25 workouts and star over them again.

    • @ImprovedHealth
      @ImprovedHealth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We progress through the 25 days so ideally complete the whole 25 days. Do 5 days a week, take a break for 2 days and then workout again for 5 days and so on. I have another program after this one when you're done the 25 days.

    Still here and still appreciating this series. Squats no problem but lunges are painful. I modify to sort-of-lunge. Would it be ok to do these barefoot (as long as weights are not involved)? Short feet and high arches make it feel like I'm only exercising my shoes with calf raises.

    • @ImprovedHealth
      @ImprovedHealth  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely do them barefoot. I have another strength video where I show various ways to do lunges but I can't think of which video it is. A few things to try...first, try the reverse lunge where you take a step back instead of forward. While doing that, have a chair beside you and use it as a support to hold onto. See if that helps. When looking at your front foot, ensure your front knee isn't going past your toes (on the same leg). Let me know how that goes.

    Getting used to the plank at the end, but it hurts my wrists. Any tricks to not feel it so much in the wrists?

    • @ImprovedHealth
      @ImprovedHealth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can move to resting on your forearms instead. It’s a bit harder but definitely easier on the wrists.

    • @ImprovedHealth
      @ImprovedHealth  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! You can definitely do an extra set of sit-to-stands or squats instead. The other option is to use a chair to hold onto (on the side of you) to provide support and only go down a little bit.

    • @ImprovedHealth
      @ImprovedHealth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Each day we work a different set of muscles so it's best to follow the days as they are created. This way your leg muscles will be able to repair tomorrow and be ready to be challenged again two days later.

    • @ImprovedHealth

      Everyone is different but no, not generally. Definitely avoid the exercise if you are feeling pain. I just put out a new seated core workout that might be a better fit for working on core strength.
