@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries that's what I used it for too, fire pro wrestling on Saturn, it was my only japanese game. The roster was just so good!
Having the pack-in game be called Crash 'n Burn seems kind of prophetic. I had read about the 3DO in magazines and I once saw one at a local Radio Shack, with the T-Rex chase portion of Jurassic Park on it, but never knew anyone who had one or saw any advertising for it. I have to say that after trying many of the games through emulation, I'm really not that impressed by it. I like Crash 'n Burn, but many of the other games have a kind of unfinished, beta feel to them. Of the games I tried that were available for both the 3DO and the PS1, I usually liked the PS1 versions better. The 2D games were fine, but with a console like this, you want it for its 3D power and many of those games tended to look kind of rough, even considering the time of its release.
Since you're a massive wrestling fan like me, here's a fun tidbit for ya: The actress who played Jane in Plumbers Don't Wear Ties is Jeanne Basone, who was one of the original ladies from G.L.O.W. named Hollywood!
I loved GLOW, but then I discovered the All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling and Reggie Bennett. Imagine if Xena Warrior Princess went to the gym and built herself up, that's Reggie.
@@midnightkitty8172 Did you watch the Dump Matsumoto miniseries on Netflix yet? Just came out the other day. Bull Nakano is my #1 favorite Japanese wrestler.
That was an awesome review of the 3DO. An interesting platform to be sure. Your review of "Plumbers don't wear ties" is the funniest one i've ever heard. Had me laughing out loud.
I still have my FZ-10 and it still works to this day. Bought it on layaway from Walmart for $199. The best part about it was that it effectively died a few months later so all the games were on clearance everywhere. Grabbed just about everything that was out at the time. We even had a couple liquidators come through and they all had 3D0 games for $5! Again, I bought everything!
We owned a Goldstar 3DO, back in the day. We bought it from Costco (remember when it used to sell consoles?). There were a few games that required you to switch discs (Daedalus Encounter). "You found a key! Insert disc 2. You used the key on a door! Insert disc 3. You opened the door! Insert disc 4..."
Thank you for showcasing so many of 3DO's stellar and noteworthy titles. The system really had an incredible library of diverse games of surprising quality. At the time if release, this system was the future itself distilled into a gaming machine. It was mindblowing for a moment in time, and deserved better. I wanted the M2 to release so bad.
I never knew this system existed until I was watching Nostalgia nerd talk about this system when he was reviewing an Atari Jaguar, which I never knew existed either lol. Once I had a Nintendo, Sega Genesis and a Playstation, I never looked for any other systems. Thanks Pat! It's nice learning about other systems. Great job as always!
Had to be shopping video game stores, eb games, software etc, Babbage, it was like 700 bucks at launch. Dropped to 400 bucjs then 300plus most of its short life. Right before ps1 came out it dropped to around 200, it was at Walmart and most other stores, ps1 cane out crushed it, so in most consumers minds it was out a year, but in reality around 5 yr's.
Goldstar 3D0, I Remember they were doing that with other builds sourcing like CD-i and Magnavox or Philips, even Sega JVC had a fling. It's a really interesting idea on paper so to speak. I think it's pretty difficult to sell a home system for 600 to 800 dollars when Sega Saturn, Sony Playstation were just about to be released. Most of the people wanted to spend that money on 3D0 might as well just get a Personal Computer.
Yeah the business model wasn't bad, and the hardware wasn't bad, but those two things didn't work well together. The bleeding edge tech (for the time) meant it was expensive to produce, and since the manufacturers didn't get a cut of game sales, they had to sell the hardware for a high price to make a profit. I've often wondered if the system would have succeeded if it were put out exclusively by a big electronics manufacturer and sold at a loss like most consoles, or if the business model would have succeeded if it were applied to innovative but low-cost hardware like the Nintendo Wii (which was very cheap to produce since it wasn't trying to be a graphical powerhouse).
Wow, 40 minutes of 3DO. What did we do to deserve all this, Patman? I didn't get mine till some years later (and for next to nothing) in '99. I actually really liked both of the AD&D games, Guardian War, and it has my personal favorite version of Out of This World on it. It's no Playstation, but I feel it gets lumped in with the CD-I, and it was much better than that.
Thanks! It does get a bad rap nowadays and I don't understand why? It's not even close when compared to the CDI is the system actually had some really good games. Out of this world is especially fantastic and one of the best versions of the game available
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries I think a lot of it has to do with the initial price point of the system...BUT, look how expensive the PS3 was when it first came out. Nobody talks crap about it. It was right on the cusp of the change over to 32 bit architecture, so yeah, a lot of the early games were going to be clunky and ugly. Just like a lot of early PS1 games were. That insane price just killed any chance it had at success, though, as they didn't have the concept of also having it in arcades like the Neo-Geo did. I'll always enjoy tossing in Guardian War or Gex and playing a bit on mine.
The Panasonic 3DO is TheFirstTime I Played "Need for Speed" & another Fighting Game that's BackGround Music was WhiteZombie's Second Album, "La Sexorcisto" Devil Music Vol.1! (We Played that Game Just to *Listen* to ThunderKiss'65!)
I can remember the Need for Speed tagline "cars drive like they should, so you can drive them like you shouldn't" I spent the entire time in the game doing burnouts for the entire length of the track. Just like everyone would drive the wrong way in Indy 500 trying to make the biggest crash to replay.
Thanks for the video.. I was in the $700 club and had an early unit. I am a sports gamer so I had to get the system for Madden, slam N jam basketball and foes of Ali… all with mixed results. The load times in this thing killed me !
Excellent video!!! This is the type of video I like. I seem to remember the Philips CD-I was around the same sort of time. Now that is also another system I would love to learn about. Thank you again.
Great video. Glad it appeared in my feed, took me back to a better time and brought back a lot of great memories as well. I always wanted an FZ-1 Panasonic model 3DO when it was originally released in 1993 but as with most other people, it was way too expensive for our household and me being only 13 or 14yo at the time of launch in 1993, I hadn't acquired my first job yet. When the system was officially discontinued in 1996, I had my first job and was finally able to pick up an FZ-10 Panasonic 3DO model from Best Buy for only $100...happy days back then. I then went across the street to Circuit City and picked up 5 or 6 games at also ridiculously low, discontinued pricing. I played the hell out of that system until it finally died in 2000, or maybe even 2001. It had so many great games, always hated that it didn't last longer and did better sales wise but the ridiculous, original cost of it doomed it from the beginning, just like the SNK Neo Geo doomed its system as well. Such a great time back then, wish I could go back. Lol.
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries I was surprised as well because it had a high amount of playtime on it, and it also had been unplugged and taken with me to friends houses and family get togethers as well. Apparently, I got lucky and had gotten ahold of a great built system. I didn't know anyone else that had ever had one at the time, so I never knew how long they would typically last. It was well cared for, but also highly played with as well. I never replaced it, even though I always wanted to, due to the high and entirely too much asking prices on eBay and Amazon, even for a used system. The cost of a used one now is even worse, so I'll probably never own one again...unless I get lucky at some point. Lol. Thanks again for the video, and take care.
Awesome video. I didn’t realize how many great games there were for the 3do. Back then, I always wanted the Neo Geo, but at 11 years old when they came out, could never afford either one of them.
Dear sir, your documentaries are really precious. They preserve the memories of videogames art, story, entertainment and I am pretty sure the fond memories of people like me, in their '50, who were and always will be in love with videogames. #onceyouareagamer #foreveragamer
Ginger Lynn (also in WC4) was working at a SIGGRAPH convention in New Orleans some years after WC4 and I got to talk to her. She said that a sequel to WC4 starring herself and Mark H. was in the works, though obviously that version ultimately didn't happen. Ginger was appearing to promote a 3D software mapping app that came with a 3D model of her body.
Great video as always. Two things: I loved Return Fire as well on the 3D0, it was a top-down wargame where you drove a tank and other military vehicles around just blowing stuff up to classical music (for those who don't know about it, I'm sure you did), and Way of the Warrior had one redeeming quality and that was the soundtrack was all tracks from White Zombie's "La Sexorcisto" album. The Dragon's Lair conversion was impeccable and Total Eclipse was a real blast. I rented that system so many times.
I remember playing the prototype of Total Eclipse at the CES in Chicago back in 93. I thought it was very impressive for the time. The game was still in the early beta stage of development and no enemies were added yet. I was convinced this was going to be the next generation until they announced the price…
I was at that show as well but don't recall playing this unit. I do recall the giant Mortal Kombat booth that was set up to show off the home versions of game and literally running into the entire cast of the game. I could not believe how short Johnny cage actor Daniel Pesina was real life
What’s this? A discussion/review of the 3DO that doesn’t involve completely pooping on it?? INCONCEIVABLE! I love your content & this is by far one of my favorite videos of yours. I still play the same FZ-10 I’ve had for over 25 years & i still love it just as much as i did when it was new.
Thank you. I always like the 3DO. It's nowhere near as robust as some of the earlier systems but It still had some pretty good games on it. People try to get Views by crapping on something but if you are fan of my channel you know I try to be fair and everything I take a look at.
3DO had potential as long as It stayed in their own lane without trying to compete with the 16 bit systems and up coming PSX, but they decided to to go all in and boy, they payed for it. Solid video PatmanQC. Keep on rocking sir!!
Great video and a very long forgotten great system. Lost many an hour to Wing Commander 3 and Star Control 2. Both are probably the systems best and well worth going back to today.
Thanks for this one my friend. You know that I'm a retro / emulation junkie from discussions on EAB, and have numerous systems set up: ... Amiga ... Arcade via MAME ... Daphne / Singe ... FM Towns / Marty ... PC Engine ... Playstation ... Playstation 2 ... Sega Megadrive ... Sharp X68000 ... Super Nintendo ... etc. I've do have stuff that I downloaded many moons ago for the 3DO; but never got around to trying, guess I need to give them a bash ;-)
I've been collecting videogame systems for a long time with my first one being a pong System in the late 70s. Aside from the PS5 and Vita I have just about every American system that was released. I never got into any Japanese systems but always wanted X68000 . I am so jealous :-)
I had a Panasonic one and loved the heck out of that system. Wing Commander 3, Return Fire, Cannon Fodder. I wished I got Star Control 2, Road Rash, or Samurai Showdown. Did enjoy Crash n Burn and Total Eclipse and Shockwave. But my best memories was passing the controller around with my family as we played Pebble Beach or teasing my siblings as I beat them in Madden. I miss that system.
Your opening up old wounds....I sold a few rare sports cards to buy this system at launch. I believe I had Madden, Alone in the dark, Way of the warrior, wing commander 2 , out of this world and road rash. Wing Commander and Road rash were amazing, everything else.... not so much. But I did enjoy just popping in a music CD and watching the colors swirl on the TV to the music.
A way more interesting system than I'd thought... A really eclectic mix of "computer/arcade" classics. And... sounds like some of the best ports of really popular arcade titles. A shame it didn't ever achieve legendary status.
I was maybe 15, when I got a summer job at a nursing home. It seemed like the longest summer ever, saving up for the 3DO. My favorite game for the system was Hell a cyberpunk thriller.
Much like the Neo Geo, the 3DO was a system that I salivated over but could not afford. As mentioned in the video, I ended up playing classics like Road Rash and D on the much more affordable PS1.
@@daerth4423 It's pretty telling that Neo Geo games from 30 years ago hold up so well to this day. Last summer I bought Baseball Stars 2 for $8 on PSN and got far more enjoyment from it than the bulk of new releases.
Love your videos . The 1st time i played one of these was at this bussiness that had every system back in the day and you paid to play all the games they had. Same place that i played neo geo and did my 1st game toury with bonk . ahhh the good old days
I miss the 90s. Such a great time to be a gamer. My cousins had a 3DO and would constantly dunk on me for having a SNES. Everytime I went to their house I wanted to play it. They were over it about 3 months after getting it and wouldn't even break it out when I went over after awhile.
D I definitely remember we had for 3DO before the PSX/Saturn versions. very interesting concept for the time. we also had Super SF2 TURBO! kind of a pain to play on a stock 3DO pad, but we did have the soldier pad. and yeah the new remixes were good stuff!! The Need For Speed, my dad was ALL about that one! my favorite part had to be the jerk opponent who always taunted you in the cutscenes, and the actual digitized interiors that were modeled after each car! same for Road Rash! aside from the fact the licensed tracks only played in the menus, but another rare fun one on 3DO! Gex I kinda enjoyed, actually.
24:53, he says "your parents are pressuring you into going out and finding a Sprouse" it happens to me when my mother pushing me to find a future girlfriend.
I can remember the Megadrive had the Master System converter which was really only a cartridge adapator as it had a chip on the console to play 8bit games. 3DO always seemed a bit pie in the sky and I never saw one in the wild like the Neo Geo.
I was a kid when the 3DO released, so naturally I was much more interested in its more mainstream (and cheaper) contemporaries. For the longest time I had always written off the games for the console as basically shovelware, but I recently played the Saturn port of Sword & Sorcery (Lucienne's Quest in English), and I was shocked by how charming and fun it was (despite its many, many flaws). Granted, it's a bit different in its presentation on the Saturn, but knowing that it originated on the 3DO got me interested. The Ur-Quan Masters is another game I enjoyed that I was surprised to find got a lot of love from its developers on the 3DO.
Great history lesson. Wonderful content. The topic is dear to my heart as I was a 90s child and teen. The 3DO was too expensive. I think 500ish in the mall?
I still remember being a kid, going into Macy's store, and seeing the 3DO for the first time, at the unbelievable price of $699.99, full price. I thought, no way is this thing going to do well at that price. Too expensive, but a clever idea.
Wow I have never even heard of that Demolition Man game, the movie is one of my favorites. So I guess now there are more reasons for me to purchase a 3DO.
It's really cool how the actors did all these extra things for the game. And we are talking about diddly little TV stars were talking about major Hollywood superstars. Very cool indeed
I had an affluent friend who was quick to jump on the 3DO bandwagon with Alone in the Dark and Lawnmower Man. I don't recall being particularly impressed, but the cd player graphics were nice
I had a rich friend who was over here from Japan going to school and he bought a 3DO as soon as it came out which was around $1000. It was cool but definitely not worth the money
I have the Gold Star model. Sadly that model has three motors. One to open and close the tray. One to spin the disc. And one to raise and lower the spindle. The spindle motor died on me. Since the 3DO isn't region locked I have several Japanese exclusives such as Ultraman.
Fun fact: 3DO outsold the Sega CD in the U.S. and Canada several times during its life; despite how expensive it was. But a cute fact however: It's that; despite the vitriol Trip had against Nintendo for their harsh licensing policies back in the day, he does have a soft spot for Mario!
I didn't get a chance to get one of the these but it looks awesome. I'm a huge fan of the sega cd and it looks similar to the system but better graphics. Awesome job with the vid Pat! 👊
My mom bought the console at a garage sale as she did every Saturday in the 80s and 90s. She would come back with all kinds of expensive things for cheap. One year, I got Jordan's 4s for $2. Always clothes and boombox. We didn't miss a beat growing g up and I'm thankful Things we couldn't afford otherwise. This particular day, she brought home a 3do with games like road rash and street fighter 2 and a couple of other games for $10. I loved road rash. It even cussed and had live video and hot girls; I was probably 14, 94-95...Thanks mom 🙂

@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries that's what I used it for too, fire pro wrestling on Saturn, it was my only japanese game. The roster was just so good!
"Happy little game" makes me smile. Thank you PatMan, hope you're having a good day
Thanks a lot, I hope you are as well
I remember an old episode of Gamepro talking about the game. I was shocked on the price.
Almost as much as a Neo Geo
I got rudely interrupted yesterday about halfway through this video. So I'm finishing it now!
Keep up the console docs, brother!
Thanks hope you enjoyed it
Having the pack-in game be called Crash 'n Burn seems kind of prophetic.
The 2D games were fine, but with a console like this, you want it for its 3D power and many of those games tended to look kind of rough, even considering the time of its release.
as a kid I wanted one just for SSF2T...looked amazing in all those screen shots.
It was fantastic
Since you're a massive wrestling fan like me, here's a fun tidbit for ya: The actress who played Jane in Plumbers Don't Wear Ties is Jeanne Basone, who was one of the original ladies from G.L.O.W. named Hollywood!
That's a deep cut. Well done!
@@thecorpulentcad6803 Thank ya kindly.
Nice, did not notice that
I loved GLOW, but then I discovered the All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling and Reggie Bennett.
Thanks, glad my silly little jokes could bring You some joy :-)
I still have my FZ-10 and it still works to this day. Bought it on layaway from Walmart for $199.
The best part about it was that it effectively died a few months later so all the games were on clearance everywhere. Grabbed just about everything that was out at the time.
We even had a couple liquidators come through and they all had 3D0 games for $5! Again, I bought everything!
You forgot the original party game: Twisted!!!
Stay tuned
We owned a Goldstar 3DO, back in the day.
We bought it from Costco (remember when it used to sell consoles?).
There were a few games that required you to switch discs (Daedalus Encounter).
"You found a key! Insert disc 2. You used the key on a door! Insert disc 3. You opened the door! Insert disc 4..."
For everyone here that doesn't give a full diaper worth of care to the Super Bowl- thanks Pat!!!!
Absolutely, thanks for watching
Thank you for showcasing so many of 3DO's stellar and noteworthy titles. The system really had an incredible library of diverse games of surprising quality. At the time if release, this system was the future itself distilled into a gaming machine. It was mindblowing for a moment in time, and deserved better. I wanted the M2 to release so bad.
Thanks for watching, yes I agree I'm curious what games of that system would've looked like
Haha. Her description of LA was great.
LOL, that whole game is just absurd :-)
Thanks a lot, I appreciated. I was blown away by the graphics first came out but like I said way too rich for my blood
Diehard Gamefan Magazine and Next Generation Magazine were favorites of mine that gave great coverage to non Nintendo/Sega 32bit/64bit systems.
Woo. I feel your channel is highly underrated. I want to start doing history videos on my channel and I’m learning from you my man.
How nice of you to say, thanks
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries I mean it. I’m glad you’re doing more original content vs the remastered.
@@NOTLeavingLV 99% of my videos are original content but some of my first videos had poor equipment which I've since upgraded
The fighting game was way of the warrior
I can remember the Need for Speed tagline "cars drive like they should, so you can drive them like you shouldn't" I spent the entire time in the game doing burnouts for the entire length of the track. Just like everyone would drive the wrong way in Indy 500 trying to make the biggest crash to replay.
Thanks for the video.. I was in the $700 club and had an early unit. I am a sports gamer so I had to get the system for Madden, slam N jam basketball and foes of Ali… all with mixed results. The load times in this thing killed me !
Thanks for watching, I didn't think the load times were that bad especially when compared to the Neo Geo CD and its single speed CD-ROM drive
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries I remember crash and burn and road rash being long. But I came from DOS gaming at the point. :)
I love this long form format of TH-cam historianship. Subbed 🥰
Excellent video!!! This is the type of video I like. I seem to remember the Philips CD-I was around the same sort of time. Now that is also another system I would love to learn about. Thank you again.

That system could be on my list at some point. Thanks
Lol.
That is fantastic, I'm surprised it lasted that long! Heckuva price to. Thanks
Fantastic video man, I utterly enjoyed it!
Thanks a ton!
Omg Ive been waiting for 3DO love, watching right away!
Excellent, hope you enjoyed it
Some of those old games still get me going.
Nightmare Creatures, for one.
Maybe some Twisted Metal?
Einhander?
The list goes on.
Awesome video. I didn’t realize how many great games there were for the 3do. Back then, I always wanted the Neo Geo, but at 11 years old when they came out, could never afford either one of them.
Glad you enjoyed!
Dear sir, your documentaries are really precious. They preserve the memories of videogames art, story, entertainment and I am pretty sure the fond memories of people like me, in their '50, who were and always will be in love with videogames.
#onceyouareagamer #foreveragamer
Thanks a lot, I'm glad I could scratch that nostalgic itch :-)
20:25 this game came out at a real low point in Hamill's career. I remember thinking at the time how sad it was.
Thanks. I wasn't aware of white zombie doing the soundtrack until I got a copyright strike When I was showing way of the warrior in the video
I could not believe how short Johnny cage actor Daniel Pesina was real life
Bit of a bad omen that the only title available at launch was "Crash and Burn". Just sayin.
No kidding :-)
What’s this? A discussion/review of the 3DO that doesn’t involve completely pooping on it?? INCONCEIVABLE! I love your content & this is by far one of my favorite videos of yours. I still play the same FZ-10 I’ve had for over 25 years & i still love it just as much as i did when it was new.
Thank you. I always like the 3DO. It's nowhere near as robust as some of the earlier systems but It still had some pretty good games on it. People try to get Views by crapping on something but if you are fan of my channel you know I try to be fair and everything I take a look at.
This must be an utter coincidence because last night I randomly downloaded Gex from Good Ol’ Games. No idea why I had a hankering to play it.
LOL, maybe you are psychic
Great video! 👍👍 I rented the 3DO from Super Latest and Greatest once, and had a blast with it over a weekend.
That's awesome! Thank you
3DO had potential as long as It stayed in their own lane without trying to compete with the 16 bit systems and up coming PSX, but they decided to to go all in and boy, they payed for it. Solid video PatmanQC. Keep on rocking sir!!
You should have covered Return Fire. Best game on the system!
Great video as always pat.
Thanks 👍
Great video and a very long forgotten great system. Lost many an hour to Wing Commander 3 and Star Control 2. Both are probably the systems best and well worth going back to today.
Thanks, it's definitely underrated system in my opinion
I had the Panasonic 3do when I was in 8th grade. I worked as a custodial aid to pay half of it. Mom's paid the rest. 😀👍👍
Very cool
I worked at Babbages in 1995 and we had a Goldstar 3DO sitting on a shelf, literally gathering dust.
I always wanted to work in a videogame store. The closest I got was lead PC technician And software salesman But at least I was in a commercial :-)
Thank you Pacmanqc. Man, your videos are awesome 👍👍👍
Thank you so much :-)
3DO helped make my 90s experience what it was. I still play mine on occasion and bought a second one.
Excellent, there is some pretty good games for the system
Return Fire was a beast on the 3DO. Flight of the Valkyries blasting while rolling up on the enemy base was great.
You're telling me, it was excellent. Stay tuned ;-)
Thanks for this one my friend. You know that I'm a retro / emulation junkie from discussions on EAB, and have numerous systems set up:
... Amiga
... Arcade via MAME
... Daphne / Singe
... FM Towns / Marty
... PC Engine
... Playstation
... Playstation 2
... Sega Megadrive
... Sharp X68000
... Super Nintendo
That's fantastic, thank you for sharing
Your opening up old wounds....I sold a few rare sports cards to buy this system at launch. I believe I had Madden, Alone in the dark, Way of the warrior, wing commander 2 , out of this world and road rash. Wing Commander and Road rash were amazing, everything else.... not so much. But I did enjoy just popping in a music CD and watching the colors swirl on the TV to the music.
Yes, the interactive light show was fantastic. There were some good games on the 3DO as well though
A way more interesting system than I'd thought... A really eclectic mix of "computer/arcade" classics. And... sounds like some of the best ports of really popular arcade titles. A shame it didn't ever achieve legendary status.
For its time samurai showdown and streetfighter 2 Were some of the best conversions around
I was maybe 15, when I got a summer job at a nursing home. It seemed like the longest summer ever, saving up for the 3DO. My favorite game for the system was Hell a cyberpunk thriller.
Excellent, I've never played that game before
Much like the Neo Geo, the 3DO was a system that I salivated over but could not afford. As mentioned in the video, I ended up playing classics like Road Rash and D on the much more affordable PS1.
The 3DO couldn't hold a candle to the Neo Geo.
@@daerth4423 It's pretty telling that Neo Geo games from 30 years ago hold up so well to this day. Last summer I bought Baseball Stars 2 for $8 on PSN and got far more enjoyment from it than the bulk of new releases.
Absolutely, the Neo Geo games are still immensely playable especially wind jammers which is probably my favorite game on the system
Admirable of Trip to credit the developers like that. That should be the standard today. I miss when more companies made their own gaming platform.
I agree, it definitely should be the standard

LOL
I bought and restored a 3DO largely just to play Gex on it - I remember seeing it in magazines back in the day.
It definitely was a lot of fun
I've been playing Killing Time with an arcade stick I bought for some old-school gaming goodness. It is a blast!
That sounds fantastic
I can remember the Megadrive had the Master System converter which was really only a cartridge adapator as it had a chip on the console to play 8bit games. 3DO always seemed a bit pie in the sky and I never saw one in the wild like the Neo Geo.
A local video store had the total eclipse playable as a demo in store. The only time I got to play the 3DO, but was surprised it didn't do better.
That was such a fantastic showpiece for the hardware
That game is a lot of fun. I was pleasantly surprised going back and playing it for this video
Great history lesson. Wonderful content. The topic is dear to my heart as I was a 90s child and teen. The 3DO was too expensive. I think 500ish in the mall?
It could be, a debuted at 699 before being dropped rather quickly to 599. Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
I still remember being a kid, going into Macy's store, and seeing the 3DO for the first time, at the unbelievable price of $699.99, full price. I thought, no way is this thing going to do well at that price. Too expensive, but a clever idea.
Agree, like I said I knew one person who could afford it and that was because his parents were essentially rich
Great video but I'm disappointed that you didn't mention Flashback: The Quest For Identity.
Thanks, but there are a lot of good games I didn't mention
Thanks for doing this, I used to have a 3DO.
Absolutely, thanks for watching
1993 was indeed an epic age of arcade and home gaming. I also dabbled with a little PC gaming - DOOM!
Darn that price tag! Because otherwise it would have been a pretty cool alternative platform. Thanks for an excellent review!
I had this with gex,Street fighter, braindead 13,mad dog mcgee and soo many more
