But years later when Stevie released brilliant musical albums Innervisions, Talking Book and Songs in the Key of Life, people were able to get beyond his :"handicap" and view him as the musical genius that he truly was.

Nah he can sense it. Even people with sight can sense objects in front of them with their eyes closed. Plus when your blind your senses can be trained to be heightened. So I think that’s why he did it

It still is used today in healthcare, a disability is the condition itself, a handicap is a circumstance made more difficult by the disability.
