I would say he has a certain twang in his voice (often associated with black gospel, soul etc.) He uses a lot of it and therefore it becomes very easy for him to go high.(at least that what's my singing teacher said) He also has an incredible ear, wich allows him to recognize and control tiny nuances and timbre differences in his voice
I would kill to have his singing voice. My voice is baritone (good for bass lines, but not melodies). Stevie's is that perfect mid range (not too high, not to low), like the equivalent of the mid range keys on a piano. Like Luuk said, he can control tiny nuances and timbre differences (with precision) and effortlessly.
She raised a great and talented son, his music is so passionate,and beautiful. We should all love our mothers like that with a great luv.

Stevie wonder got some long pretty hair ....his mother was such a beautiful woman he dedicated the song called DON'T YOU WORRY ABOUT A THING to his mom because he promised her once he became rich he was going to take care of her and all the abuse that she was going through. He kept his promises up till she passed away

Back in 1977 - 1978 I worked at Ralph's the grocery store just off of Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills, CA. Stevie's mom came in often to pick up food as Stevie just lived up the hill. I bagged groceries for Stevie a number of times, nice guy, what an amazing talent.

Some singers can get to the top of their range, hit it for a few notes, and jump down, 'cause it's very straining to stay there for too long. This Stevie just lives up there whenever he wants to. This man is the greatest R&B male voices of all time.

Hope they do a movie about Stevie and his mom. I read his Mom's autobiography in 2005 which recounted her struggles as a poor single mom and prostitute tring to raise her child.

Those were two phenomenally beautiful songs. I especially love the chord progressions from the first one. Saw him perform his Songs In The Key Of Life concert this past weekend in Atlanta, and was in awe. This man is so amazingly talented, and it seems almost effortless. What a gift from God.
