The day you turned pro, I immediately bought 2 of your boards. I skated the shit out of one, it’s broken in half under my bed all these years later. The other is hanging on my wall in my bedroom. I remember being so stoked for you, as I’d been following you since like 2015. Around the time I started skating your first pro board, it was probably the worst year of my life. That broken skateboard is so sentimental to me and got me through so many rough days when I was in college, as well as your videos. Cannot express how grateful I am for you, your skateboards, and always being a positive role model for me to look up to when I was growing up. Much love my friend
Man. I'm so glad you like the board. We tried really hard to think of something that would be meaningful for you. Just really happy to be a part of the journey with you!
I’ll never forget the day you turned pro, I was just starting my freshman year of high school at the age of 14 when Andy announced the video on his channel and when you posted the announcement on yours. I’m now 21 and still watch your videos and truly love the progress and the growth you’ve made in TH-cam, skateboarding, and even your artwork love you John frfr keep killin it🙏🏼
i discovered your channel when i was 13 years old now i am 17 and a lot has changed since then both for me and you. I used to skate and watch your videos every day, but now i turn up from time to time to see what you are up to, and every time it puts a smile on my face to see how far you have come as a person. It sounds extremely corny but i felt and feel so connected to your stories and how your life changed and feel nostalgic even thinking about my life and the videos you posted during this time.
YES! I will be listening every week! This is why I loved the John Hill channel - diving into how to progress daily! Thanks for always giving us a fun glimpse into your progression as well as giving us some more resources. Sometimes hearing it from someone else makes the same things you’ve heard over and over click.
I too am trying to work on my personal habits like fitness and eating healthier. I never want to quit skateboarding either but am focusing on other things right now. So, I plan to stay subscribed and am in a similar mindset as you. Your ambition, success, and attitude are inspiring to me. Keep killing it, as you say!
Preach! A few years back, I hit the same crossroads. Keep on with a safe career and life that I had fallen out of love with or move on? For many years, I chose the safe path. Led to some dark feelings and some dark places to say the least. Thanks to some good support and the right people, I took a chance and made some tough changes. I - and my wife and kids - are the better for it. Congratulations on your courage. I look forward to following your path. You're a hell of a role model!
John i got the last one of your first board i still have it you have brought me to so many new interests and people and music (lots of CWFS) im sad to see that it will be your final pro board but life is like the beach and a new wave is coming. No matter what, keep killing it, bro!
You have no idea how much you words resonated with me! I am in the middle of a similar change of career (albeit in different fields) and I'm just having such a hard time letting go of my old career in which I was very successful and thrived. I can feel you and your years-long depression. Goodbyes are just so hard! But it's good to hear other people go through similar struggles and it's not just me who is dragging out this goodbye. I have found a new path already but still I am dealing with doubts and thoughts of whether I made the right decision or whether I should simply have stayed in my comfort zone that was working so well instead of forging this new path on challenging, unknown terrain. So thanks for your uplifting words and for being so honest about your journey.
Love to see this transition, been watching for awhile, and the mantra of Progress Daily has been one I held before I discovered you, and interested to see you. I am a mental health therapist as my day job, and a sports photographer on the side. I do hope you invite some professionals on the topics of mental health for your podcast to ensure good information is shared.
Hell yeah john as a skater that has got into fitness in finance in the past 5 years i support you 100% i have always enjoyed your content! i speak for many when i say that we are mostly here for you and not really the skating, there nothing wrong with branching out. you will and have inspired many!
Hyped to have been a sub through your entire pro journey! Wish you nothing but the best! I feel you about moving on so much. It’s been a struggle in my life for years, obviously not like your situation but definitely inspiring to hear you speak on this. Take care.
Love you john been here since the beginning PROGRESS DAILY since you were at the old shop with te revive guys and moving from CA to NY time flies too fast much love from an og fan ❤️
I've always absolutely loved your skate content and have for the last few years. I hope you still film skating, but fuck this is the exact shift I'm making in my life now and I'm about to start making content, I've already started the new account to begin making it entirely what I want to become. much love John, glad to share this journey with becoming our greatest selves. there's been a shift in the universe lately and I can't fucking wait.
progress daily forever man. Don't ever let anyone tell you you haven't got it or you fell off John. Nothing but love from the UK big bro, nothing but love!!!!
Hey John, thank you again, for some how knowing exactly what I needed to hear when I needed to hear it. I've said it before, but I feel like you've always had the right video for where I'm at in life (I wouldn't be surprised if you recognize my handle/profile pic by now, hahaha). Listening to you talk about big changes in your life, and going from being an expert in one field to a beginner in another is genuinely exactly what I need right now... A couple years ago, I got the opportunity to be the Head Brewer at a brewery which was a pretty monumental and scary thing for me considering I was only 28 at the time. On top of that, I had to move for this job and I'm living on the complete opposite side of the country from my family for it. In my time there, I've brought the brewery from having no commercial accounts and selling cans of beer with hand applied stickers for labels from a mini fridge under the stairs to (as of last week); distributing 3 products province wide in liquor stores, with a complete rebranding, and many commercial accounts. - Last Monday, we had the single largest sale in company history (we sold more cans to the liquor store in 1 sale than we had sold in 2 peak summer months combined). - On Tuesday, my boss told me they're taking away my quarterly production bonus. I told them, "no, you can't do that. It's in my employment contract and a notable part of why I've got us to the point of province wide distribution." So he hit back saying that they're going to take away my $400/month food expense card instead. Again I said, "No, you still can't do that, it's in my employment contract." - On Thursday, they let me go. And now, a few days (and many talks with lawyers later), I realize I need to start fresh. I need to feel like I'm creating something for myself and people I care about, and not simply for the financial benefit of one person off the backs of people struggling with alcohol addictions. I know I've been coming to this dawn of realization over the past year anyways, but this week fully cemented it for me. This past summer, I started experimenting with making organic sports beverages; ones that are meant to _actually_ rehydrate and be healthy and it felt really good. I realized that I need to feel like I'm making something good; something that inspires a better life for people... I love making beer, but I've always felt a huge amount of guilt knowing that so much of what I make goes towards fueling someone's alcoholism (and lining the pockets of someone I've known is a bad, toxic, and abusive person for 2 years). Having turned 30 just a few months ago, it's time to start fresh; to be a beginner again and to make something that will make peoples lives better. So as always, thank you, John. You've been a constant force of goodness and motivation in my life for almost an entire decade (it blows my minds to know that I've witnessed you move from LA, to NY, to TX, back to LA, then back to TX while at the same time I was moving from Vancouver, to Europe, around Europe a couple times, then to NB Canada, then to NS Canada for this job, and soon back home to Vancouver). It's great to see you progressing daily and thank you for having the words I needed to hear time and time again. Cheers to many more inspirations. :)
I understand this in my own way, skateboarding is my everything, my life, but I had a stroke this past summer. Skating was ripped away, stolen from me. I will skate again! It has been a huge motivator during the long road of rehab. And keeps me working the exercises I must do to get better and heal. At the same time I've had to learn to live different in many ways. From diet, medication and more, to even some new interests during my winter. But I will skate again!!
I first watched your videos in 2016, you helped me through some tough times, i remember when you met Sarah and when your first pro deck came out, i hope it's not the last one
I have the Ignore the Hype Pursue Delight board hanging on my wall! I started watching you 5 years ago I love the positive vibe! Glad you will still skateboard you really are insane at it and would be a bummer not seeing it! We all change and must change I at 54 have decided to start my skateboard journey so where you are leaving I am entering, I love life it is just so unexpected!
I never made it in skating like you, but I defintely dont do it as much anymore. I work out twice a day and now just sell video games on ebay. Such a huge change and my life is 100x better than when I was working for other people. Only 2 months in and I already quit my job and my store grows every week. You got this John! We got this! I'm a bit buff.. wealthy in life and friends but not money, I don't need that lol
Sad to see this happen to Revive, but all things have start and a finish. Good on you for changing your perspective on life and the curve balls it throws. I’m a therapist here is Texas, if you ever want to talk/pick my brain, don’t hesitate to reach out.
What a lovely Video my friend. I watch your videos since I was 12 and I am almost 23 now. Thanks for all your positive influence on my life and the good time I always have watching your videos. I am a skater and for sure I love your skatevideos, but nevertheless I am curious on what comes next and to see how your new journey will turn out. Thank you John Hill.
I missed the window to buy these last Revive Boards. They're all out of stock! I hope that since they sold so well they'll do another batch of the same designs.
Throw some interviews into the podcasts with pro skaters who have exited the skateboard industry. Talk to Neen, Mike mo, mikey taylor,Brandon bieble. A few of them focus heavy on fitness and you guys would parallel on your experiences as skaters moving into your 30’s and 40’s. Keep it up John.
That’s a beautiful board to end on. I hope I’ll be able to find one floating around online in a year when I actually have disposable income haha. I’m looking forward to your next step in life and what you’ll share!
Hey John! For a podcast interview type thing concerning fitness, life wellness, etc I'd highly recommend reaching out to Julie Angel for a remote interview. She'd be right up your alley. She wrote the book on parkour history and philosophy doctrine, documented the founders, and now has her own "Movement Snacks" series about staying moving and healthy in our daily lives wile aging, plus has (had?) a series called See and Do that gave exposure to women and nonbinary athletes. (See Cine' Parkour, her doctorate, and Breaking the Jump, the history. She has years of interviews and training with the founders and Parkour Generations in London.)
Im so excited! I got one of your older boards from revive in a buy two deal so decided to "google ya" because i just got into skateboarding and doing a current deep dive on Andys channel and saw you in a few as well. This is my first video ive ever watched from you and im all in! Thank you for your opennness and i cant wait to dive into your old videos and follow along with this new journey!
Oh no, another podcast - I don't think I could absorb more than 10 minutes of another podcast, but I do look forward to hearing clips of it - good luck!
Just an observation from a fellow AsianOlderSkinnySkater type, been a couple months since I caught a vid so I can see the working out results in your neck! Looking more solid, makes me want to get back to my gym routine. Good work man, cheers!
I came for the skateboarding but will stay because I enjoy your personality and adorable family. Also, I actually enjoyed Sara's content too before I knew you both were together.
I know where you're at man, I'm in my 20s married with a little girl and have no clue what im doing next. I had a buisness that I lost 12 months ago and still cant find work. We have no money and I feel useless but on the flip side I've started going to the gym ive come off antidepressants for the firdt time in 7 years and I get to watch my kid grow up. I know i need to get back to work in the new year and I'm hoping what to do next will become obvious.
Dude I had a feeling that outdoor gym was in grapevine. Fun fact that skatepark used to be an outdoor roller hockey rink. Been watching your channel for a couple years.
John, you should give Crossfit ago - I'm a skater gone fitness fanatic, something I never saw coming but I'm glad I did, CrossFit and skateboarding weirdly have a lot of crossover. From the community to the competitive ness, its a very different lifestyle, but I find it scratches a similar itch. Of course, I still skate time and again, but as I grow older and my priorities shifted, CrossFit helped a lot and I'm in the best shape I've ever been because of it :)
I'm following a skateboard pro. Good thing he made a working out video. Also you have headphones in like 90% of the time? So glad your podcast won't be about skateboarding. Neat.
Hey man I’ve been watching you for like 8 years. Crazy to see how far you’ve come. I do fitness and have about the same following on instagram that you did when you were making vids 8 years ago! I’d love to one day be on the podcast🙏
Found out the board too late. Went onto the website and all sizes are out of stock. Hopefully they will do another run and I can grab one for our wall. My son and I enjoy your videos. Its cool seeing all the Fort Worth skate spots and then going and trying them out! Best wishes.
Your Daily Vlogs were the best. Especially when you were in Long Beach. Hope to see a creative approach to the podcast that hasn’t been done. Looking forward to it.
DBC…Daily Blessings Coming! Thank You ALL for Everything, EVERYDAY!! THE LAST PROFESSIONAL SKATEBOARD….? NOOOOO!!…… Bro, I’m 33 and still haven’t moved on from THINGS! I’ve tried & TRIED & TRY SO HARD…. DEPRESSED, ALWAYS MAKE IT THRU IT…. I GUESS, BUT SAD LIFE is a HARD LIFE!
Best example of a great podcast is tosh show Fashoo! Go look at the comments! I love that podcasts and he dosent interview celebrities. And it’s refreshing

Wish I had all his decks hung up like how John had me all these years#1d@yyyyyyeeee👇🏿☺😄😍😁👇🏿😢😮😅😊😂🎉❤
He should sign it for you imo. You pay for shipping and I'd bet he would.
Man. I'm so glad you like the board. We tried really hard to think of something that would be meaningful for you. Just really happy to be a part of the journey with you!

I remember sending you letters like 8 years ago
You’re just an awesome guy! And we’re here to support your journey
That is one of the most visually appealing boards I've ever seen, the top wood grain and the deck. Definitely favorite John Hill board.

Dude you’re such a legend ♥️. I’m praying for you and your family. 🙏
been your fan since your birdhouse days bro, I need to cop a board just crazy this is the end but, youre a legend your legacy will carry on
I understand this in my own way, skateboarding is my everything, my life, but I had a stroke this past summer. Skating was ripped away, stolen from me. I will skate again! It has been a huge motivator during the long road of rehab. And keeps me working the exercises I must do to get better and heal. At the same time I've had to learn to live different in many ways. From diet, medication and more, to even some new interests during my winter. But I will skate again!!
here for the journey man!
I first watched your videos in 2016, you helped me through some tough times, i remember when you met Sarah and when your first pro deck came out, i hope it's not the last one
Love you John, been a fan since 2016 brotha!

I have never owned a skateboard, but I promise John I will get one and learn just because of you
I missed the window to buy these last Revive Boards. They're all out of stock! I hope that since they sold so well they'll do another batch of the same designs.
That intro was so mellow, very nice
Throw some interviews into the podcasts with pro skaters who have exited the skateboard industry. Talk to Neen, Mike mo, mikey taylor,Brandon bieble. A few of them focus heavy on fitness and you guys would parallel on your experiences as skaters moving into your 30’s and 40’s. Keep it up John.
That’s a beautiful board to end on. I hope I’ll be able to find one floating around online in a year when I actually have disposable income haha. I’m looking forward to your next step in life and what you’ll share!
Dope man, im along for the ride have been since day one. Keep doing your thing John
Bruh hanging out with your kids with AirPods in is wild 😂
Just an observation from a fellow AsianOlderSkinnySkater type, been a couple months since I caught a vid so I can see the working out results in your neck! Looking more solid, makes me want to get back to my gym routine. Good work man, cheers!
that's sick thank you!!!!
You inspired me to start skateboarding
Cinematography on point. As is your life 🧡
Yo John, would love some calisthenics videos in a similar style as your skateboarding videos. Even some workout plans etc.
Congratulations on the child. Most importantly u are a great Father.
I came for the skateboarding but will stay because I enjoy your personality and adorable family. Also, I actually enjoyed Sara's content too before I knew you both were together.
We love you John Hill!!
I know i need to get back to work in the new year and I'm hoping what to do next will become obvious.
goodluck on your journey🫡
Dude I had a feeling that outdoor gym was in grapevine. Fun fact that skatepark used to be an outdoor roller hockey rink. Been watching your channel for a couple years.

I was so bummed this board was already sold out when I went to try to get one after seeing Andy's vid announcing them.
I love the board, keep it up, your always an inspiration toward me.
I'm following a skateboard pro. Good thing he made a working out video. Also you have headphones in like 90% of the time? So glad your podcast won't be about skateboarding. Neat.
Here for it.
Hey man I’ve been watching you for like 8 years. Crazy to see how far you’ve come. I do fitness and have about the same following on instagram that you did when you were making vids 8 years ago! I’d love to one day be on the podcast🙏
love the video, was so captivating despite not hearing any talking
Found out the board too late. Went onto the website and all sizes are out of stock. Hopefully they will do another run and I can grab one for our wall. My son and I enjoy your videos. Its cool seeing all the Fort Worth skate spots and then going and trying them out! Best wishes.
John keep up the great work
💜💜💜 love you dude
Fuck yes bro, im hyped for the pod.
This is what I called newgen skatedads
Love you man
Good luck John 🤘
You should connect with Neen Williams! He seems to be on a very similar journey with health, skateboarding, and mental health.
I'm so effing excited for the new podcast!!!!
Dang I feel old man I’ve been watching u for a really really long time
Your Daily Vlogs were the best. Especially when you were in Long Beach. Hope to see a creative approach to the podcast that hasn’t been done. Looking forward to it.
Excited to see the journey! Want to try swimming?
The car design is cool!
You inspire me

Damn…. I wish they had sweetgreen in Vegas!
Best example of a great podcast is tosh show Fashoo! Go look at the comments! I love that podcasts and he dosent interview celebrities. And it’s refreshing
dope accomplishment for sure, overall
Brainrot finance podcast incoming
Man I remember when I first sub. I was 24 now I’m 29
Woah that's sick I've been to that skate "park" before.
Whatever you said literally had nothing to do with skateboards.
These videos aren’t that same, not in a bad way but not the same at all, when I had my crazy life to kids it changed fast
Yo big bro much love
