You quite literally lifted a 600cc bike up a flight of stairs LMAO that's insane awesome video as always, Larry. Been curious as to what the bike was; thought it was a Ducati at first LOL
Had to do that at work, was doing a pipe replacement on a big house and one storage wasnt empty...a 900cc sportsbike...the guy had to go down about 10 stepps and up another 15 just to get it in :D
Hit it with compressed air to get rid of the dust every few weeks, and waterless wash/wax every year. I'm sure his garage gets dusty, but this retired race bike isn't going to see anymore of the real world. The most challenging thing to clean off this bike as it sits up there is dust fallout.
@@omg_stoppit Hes probably wondering about fluids and such. Oil, Gasoline, and such create varnish after being allowed to sit, and will rust the tank out from the inside, the engine internals and the coolant system ect. All those fluids have shelf life, and are likely swapped out for something specifically designed for long term storage, much like a camper is when its parked for years.
I thought he was joking about leaving the bike up top, and then they started making their way to the stairs with it. That is awesome is he let's you have it there for display! Such a unique bike, and matches the theme of your company perfectly!
ErionBros racing was 20 minutes from my house. Willow Springs was our home track. They hired multi time world champion Freddie Spencer to race for them. One day during a practice session we were doing laps. Spencer drifted his bike into turn 8 a ultra fast corner. After the session, I walked over to their pit box, WTF Spencer how did you do that? He smiled and replied with his Louisiana drawl, it’s all in the wrist. Kevin Erin just started cracking up. Found out quick why he was a multi time champ.
I've owned 600RRs, 900RRs, and 1000RRs. Definitely some of the greatest models for street bike reliability and power. My 98 900RR was my favorite by far. I've seen the owners' collection of bikes and cars from Tommy FYeahs channel. Serious collection of time pieces. Excellent job as always, Larry.
Walt Brown in Tarpon Springs, FL is exactly the same lol. He owns many Ducati’s and a few that have won some massive races. He not only taught us how to properly start them but would encourage us to ride them around his estate. Best client ever and to this day I own 6 motorcycles now. The smell of race gas and the massive barrels of fuel just flooded my memory thinking about it again. Some clients are exceptional and those are the ones that make this career special.
AMMO NYC FOR THE WIN!! As a Honda car and MC enthusiast this was great! Great place of history! You would have loved the image of my 1984 V65 Magna I had. First power cruiser into the 10s in the day. Sold in 2005. Talked about it yesterday...
Cool to see you working on an old AMA bike. My cousin Danny Eslick is a 4 time Daytona 200 winner and a multi time AMA/DMG champion in multiple classes. I am a huge road racing fan.
Love this! Perfect timing! Just picked up a 2010 cbr1000rr & next thing I know one of my favorite channels is working on a CBR! Hope to see some more bike videos in the future!!
what you explain at 4:40 about the bottle make sense, I always thought it would be something really really expensive to get this equipment, but in reality, if you can charge your client a few bucks or a few hundred bucks for a bigger detailing, the tools becomes extremely cheap and more like an investment
@@NateHiggers74 believe it or not my first street bike was a Gold Wing. 1975. I paid $1000. for it in 1986. Marine Corps new pfc. rode it for 6 months and traded it in for a GPz1100.

Great to see how you brought the bike back to life, being a mechanic in the world supersport working on these kind of bike daily. its really hard to keep them looking fresh on track especially the paint and wheels there is always rockchips en scratches on the wheels and fairings top job .

Man moving the thing up the stairs was no joke never heard some many words bleeped out on Ammo lol. Once again Larry killed this detail. Can’t wait for next year’s videos. Happy New Year’s to the Ammo team!!!
I find it extremely hard to believe this bike makes 161whp, even with a full HRC engine build(on an account of me knowing the owner of the B bike and having seen the actual dyno numbers, much lower). The paint wear on the tank is also from tank pads that look like they were removed.
Awesome, my last year in the AMA was 2008, had the privilege of racing in FX on a Attack Kawasaki, the racing up front with Jake and Miguel on the factory Honda was amazing.
I have the much tamer CB600F6 (2006) nowhere near as light or as powerful as this bike but every time I ride it I feel like it is as light and as nimble as a push bike. Red and black colour scheme similar to this one, it's a beautiful bike.
When you were moving the bike upstairs it reminded me of the 'Friends' episode when they were moving the sofa and I just wanted to yell PIVOT! Loved the content as always.

So here’s a thought for you. The degreaser on the bike especially around moving components is something us motocross folks are traditionally taught not to do just because so many seals and gaps have oils and lubes for proper function.
Even though they attract grime build up, the general consensus is to avoid degreasers around those vital parts. Your thoughts Larry?
make sense to avoid that on regular cleaning. but should be fine if its on rare occasions such as this. your thoughts nic?
Considering its a retired bike and the seals would harden from sitting, it would not matter. I'd be concerned on an active racing bike, but here the seals, bushings, oils and lube will all break down and harden. Even in climate controlled areas.
Most good rubber can withstand degreaser, key is not to do it in the sun or dwell for a long time.
Better with just flowing water off than a pressure washer. Wax or ceramic.
