- On my recent trip to remote East Indonesia, I went on a few island hopping trips, because that is the only way to see the most beautiful islands this country has to offer. In this video, I show you Baer and Adranan islands from the Kei archipelago in south Maluku, East Indonesia. If you like exploration and adventure, plus tropical islands and beaches, this part of the world is the best place for you!
The trip started with a quick snorkeling near Baer island, which is also called Mini Raja Ampat by the locals, because it has a beautiful bay that has a similar vibe to the so-called Secret Lagoon on Gam island in Raja Ampat. After Baer, I visited Adranan island, which is a small island that has a white sandy beach all around it - true tropical paradise!

Look like Jaco Island in East Timor 🇹🇱
Yes, they are quite similar!
@@HighOnLowTide have you been to Jaco? I am curious 🤔
@@mitotv6376 Yes, I visited East Timor back in 2018 and I spent almost 4 days on the road (there and back from Dili) so that I can spend a couple of hours on Jaco. :) Jaco is one of my favorite islands ever.
Wow, that's cool.. Nice to hear You like Jaco as one of your Fav
@@mitotv6376 Have you been there? I think no one would dislike Jaco island, it is simply gorgeous and it is empty (I`ve heard it is a sacred place in the local community, so they don`t allow constructions on the island, which is great, it is all natural). The road to Tutuala village was very long and the ride was super bumpy and uncomfortable, but it was so worth it.
Looks really like some part in Raja Ampat. NICE.😏
Have you been to the 'Secret Lagoon' on Gam island? This small bay has a similar feel to it and it is equally beautiful. But the one on Gam is bigger. :)
@@HighOnLowTide Yes, i have bin in Gam, in a day trip. I was in Raja Ampat around 12 years ago.😏 But i can tell you, with your videos i look here,
i will visite north maluku. I was bevor a beachhunter. I was very crazy, to find the BEST beach. I go around southeast asia, for find the BEST beach, same like you now.😏
Kei island was magic. But Raja Ampat, i get the feeling, i stay in a paradise. A lot of parrots and kakadus i see in Kri island. The beach in Kri was nice too. Everything was perfect.
This is a place, i can stay forever, when you ask me.😏
@@rolandberglas6080 I totally understand, Raja Ampat is indeed a magical place. Although, in recent years, it has changed quite a lot. My first time was in 2018 and then I went back this year and now there are way more `homestays` on Kri, I had the feeling that it is quite overbuilt. Raja Ampat used to be remote, but now access is quite easy if you have money. It is still an amazing place, and because of the costs, hopefully it will never be much `worse` (I mean overdevelopment).
@@HighOnLowTide I remember, when i was in Papua Diving Resort, the owner is Max Ammer, he was the only one, around this area.😏 After a couple of years, i look in internet, they have a homepage, i think, Raja Ampat Homestays. I was very surprise, how many homestays and resorts, they have. Just a couple years later.🤷♂️But it is word a visite. I visite a lot of islands in this area.Waterfall too. I not diving, but i snorkeling. Only one island, i can not go. They say, it is the Best one. Pulau Wayag.😏
@@rolandberglas6080 Wow, we had quite similar experiences! I sometimes go scuba diving, but I was on a budget during both of my trips and I preferred to visit as many places as I could, so I didn`t dive, I only snorkeled, but it was amazing, so I didn`t regret not diving. I visited Raja Ampat twice, I've been to quite a lot of islands, but I haven't made it to Wayag yet. I had a scheduled trip going there this year, but the weather was bad on that day (the waves were too big, so we decided it was too risky). Maybe next time. :)
Bagus!
kei island the best.
Any recommend about where to stay if travelling around this area^_^
Check out my video about the Kei islands (the second latest video), I put together all the necessary information, including accommodation!
Just saw it haha! Well thank you for sharing this amazing experience in the hidden gems of Indonesia! Even though I just plan for my first trip to Indonesia and I am so inspired by what you shared! Keep on doing what you do right now~ love to see more!
@@simengzhang5554 Thank you for the kind words! :)
Hi Boris, is there any tropical fruits that grow on remote islands in Indonesia? If yes, what kind of fruits?
Hi, yes, sure, Indonesia is full of tropical fruits. There are the classics, like mango and papaya and all that, but you can also find some fruits that are a bit harder to find elsewhere. My favorite local fruits are `salak` (or snakeskin fruit in English), `sirsak` (soursop in English), rambutan and mangosteen, among others. Just go to any market in Indonesia and you will be overwhelmed by the choices. :)
aLSo banana fruit....everday available in this iSLand 😂
Why do you travel in this area, when you want to avoid Sun on your skin?
Yes...the places is very hot
