Bjorn and Sigurd didn’t even bother to show up which makes sense because in real life Bjorn and Sigurd were the youngest sons and so were banished to keep them from competing with the older kids as was tradition. Also Bjorn was Aslaug’s son in real life, Lagertha didn’t have any children with Ragnar, Ubbe dies in battle while all the other sons die of old age, Rollo isn’t Ragnar’s brother, Halfdan isn’t Harald’s brother, Ragnar had no daughters, Alfred is Aethulwulf’s son, Athelred was king before Alfred, Igor grows up being only slightly better than Oleg, etc. I love the show but the history is all over the place.

No the show lied. In real life Ivar was the eldest son and led the army alongside Ubbe and Hvitserk. Bjorn and Sigurd didn’t even invade England with them because they barely knew Ragnar, as he banished them before they were even fully grown. If the show was going to be historically accurate than Bjorn and Sigurd wouldn’t have even bothered to show up after Ragnar died.
