That 9.5 was absolutely lovely and genuine. Daena was a class act fir sure! Also, it's just refreshing when ladies score accurately instead of underscoring so they'll have a better chance of winning. They were very kind to one another.

I could listen to Daena talk or assess food all day; I felt she knew her stuff and overall fair. Sad that her cheesecake didn't take it but I wholeheartedly get why it didn't vibe with the other moms.

I feel like Daena's might have been more sophisticated and specific than they were expecting. Liquor and sweets aren't for everyone but personally i love the combination of chocolate and cognac.

so I started making sweet potato cheesecakes about 30 years ago. You have to use real sweet potatoes not to buy fillings and you have to string them to get out all the strings. I also use a combination of Philadelphia cream cheese has a very good flavor profile you have to use real vanilla extract, although in a pinch, the other stuff will do and don't use too much of any particular seasoning but to give it a really rich flavor oh this is culture. Intuitive. Use some salt to bring out the sweet flavors. It's the salt that marries all the flavors together just like candy.
Please bring these ladies back they was all stars

I would've definitely not liked the 3rd cake. A few years ago I tried a small slice of rum cake for the first time and I spit it right out which was because I'm not a big drinker. I'm with Carlena. I don't like alcohol in deserts together either lol.

This is the first time that they all seemed fair to the point that they had the same critiques. I liked that all three came with a different personality that was reflected in their dishes. More of this trio. And props to the mom who gave a 9.5 to a competitor. So often we see people damn near cleaning their plates and then have the nerve to give a 5.5. lol. .

I LOVED this episode! And mostly because of the ladies! I hate that it has almost become a stereotype that whenever POC moms try each other's food, they will be catty and unnecessarily b*tchy about one another's food. Biased. Rating in specific ways so they'll come out on top. It's not funny. It's not endearing. It's toxic and it portrays a f*cked up stereotype. I want to watch ladies who set an example. Who show us a type of way to behave that is lovely and respectful.
So thank you for choosing these 3. It was still a little spicy but at least within a normal range of what one can expect in a competition.
