After I have been checked and the officers are about to leave I always thank them for protecting out resources. Good man. I have a very similar saw I used in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Great video and it looks like the flag action was just as hot as the spearing! That first pike in the video was hot after that decoy and wanting to munch down on it.
It's nice seeing people who get excited over a small pike. Sadly i caught and speared too many big ones that i don't get excited anymore even if I'd catch a 38 incher. Wish i could go back to when a 24 inch pike got me all excited
There's a way to tye you rope just above your spearhead I'm sure you can look it up but I had a really old guy that I bought the spear from do it for me but anyways....the rope being tied that way will make it so when u pull the spear up to you after spearing the fish it flips the fish upside down which helps keep them on and they don't fight as much
Thanks for the interesting suggestion. It seems like if tied the way you described and if the rope was partially frozen to the ice (which is common after the first throw once it gets wet), the drag from the line breaking free of the ice would severely alter the direction of travel. Of all the fish I’ve hit, I’ve only had a couple get off which were due to poor throws anyway. If you had a method to keep the line from freezing such as the floor of a permanent shack, I could see it being a beneficial tactic!
Central Minnesota for the most part is 10 and I think 1 or 2 of them can be over the slot. I keep forgetting so I always read up on it before I go spearing. Some lakes got changed to 3 pike so if you go out make sure to look for posted signs by the access and you should probably talk to the DNR and ask what regulations apply to the lake you're going on just to be same
As it is written i believe in central mn posession, the limit is 10. Daily limit I different than possession limit. From what I read. Of course mn does such a nice job of clearly stating how to be legal......liberals making game laws..... @@dylonpress7034

Love spearing it's a blast. Awesome video.
It’s definitely our favorite way to fish 👍🏻

Thanks for watching! They definitely tend to be more aggressive up in shallow like that

I get it you guys are excited...but dont forget you are killing living thing...a little respect.
How many pike can you spear?
Depends on where you are. Minnesota has three different zones and each one is a different limit.
