lowkey sad that Weems died. I liked that there was an adult to challenge Wednesday without being an outright villain. I'm kinda hoping she pulled some sort of trick being a shapeshifter and all and isn't actually dead, but that's likely not gonna happen lol
The show holds its own amongst its genre. Wednesday is just as complex as needed, and the supporting cast is just as exceptional. Very entertaining! 😎🍷🎬
It was ok... I think wednesday was the best part. They made Pugsley a little bit of a wimp. He got bullied in the old movies and show but it was only by his sister. I could still see Pugsley releasing Piranha on the swim team too. To outsiders they were virtually the same people Pugsley is just as much of a psychopath as wednesday. Then they forced the show to make wednesday more like her mother when in fact she was more like her father. Perfect at everything and crazy. but besides that I thought it was good but I grew up on the old movies and shows so it didnt feel the same continuity wise. I would still watch a season 2
It's quite interesting how the former Wednesday back in the old show turns out to be the bad guy in the new one. I really liked this show. So much layers also Jenna playing Wednesday is amazing, she is the reason why this show is such a hit.
Apparently what happened to Goody's Book of Shadows like the unanswered plot-threads revealed at the end of episode 8 those being Tyler's fate after he transforms into his Hyde form and escapes police custody, and the identity of the mystery stalker who is apparently obsessed with Wednesday will be answered in a 2nd season if by some miracle the show gets a Season 2 and doesn't suffer the fate most Netflix Original shows get if they get mixed reviews that being cancelled after only 1 season. Yeah Netflix has an annoying to be more accurate groan-inducing habit of canceling shows after what is supposed to be the 1st season ends if said show gets negative or mixed reviews.

I guess Eugene’s “Outcast talent” or whatever it’s called is that he can control bees? I was constantly wondering what his “superpower” was or whatever it’s called. Then we see he was able to control the bees so I’m guess that was it. Thought it was pretty cool of Weems giving the kids a place to work with their powers like Xavier’s Art Shed and Eugene’s Bee House. Weems was really great, hope she’s not completely dead, as the character is great and the actress is phenomenal
It’s not confirmed that there will be a season 2 but it you saw Wednesday finished her poem she typed “The End?” This depends on the movie meaning there will be a part 2 but is most likely to have a different topic focusing on different characters, For example Enid we didn’t know her past or Wednesdays parents “Morticia and gomez” we don’t know their childhood their parents we didn’t even see the them at the end of the episode…
I loved this series and so look forward to a new season, if at all. It’s such a great spin off of the Adams family. I love Wednesday and the rest of the cast. I really hope we can see more.
Whatever his transformation origins, he made it clear in his last private conversation/confession with Wednesday that he really liked his powers as a monster. He accepted and embraced his evil "Mr. Hyde" persona.
"a potential season 2"... How is it possible that we are not sure if Wednesday will have a season two? Lately the movie industry is very weird... they produce these incredibly good series, and they make us know that there will be not a new season. Are we living in a new recession era?
Thats what I think. Burton was actually supposed to direct that film and the first one but ended up turning it down. I think he did not get the creative control he wanted possibly.
If you took the Harry Potter series, "Stranger Things," "Enola Holmes," and the Adams Family, run them all through a meat grinder, and spread the bloody results on a mortuary slab, you'd get "Wednesday." Brilliant!
The plot twist at the end of Episode 7 was indeed very interesting and left me wondering how they were going to reconcile the main character's love interest also being one of the main antagonists. We had also been left with the doubts about whether Dr. Kimbott truly was Laurel Gates or not. Man, I was so disappointed with this last episode. Our love interest---thrown out the window. The ultimate villains-barely savoured and borderline comical. Some of the best acting on the show, complex character with both grit and restraint, freaking Brienne of Tarth---unceremoniously killed. I wish they had slowed the episode down and taken a different direction. An extended final episode would have achieved this.
(Cont.) Tyler the hyde could have been unlocked anew via siren song, been permitted to control his monstrous alter ego with another revealed secret, and been morally excused from the murders he committed while obliviously transformed. His tenderness for Wednesday should have remained both genuine and important to the plot---W needed a person who proved that sometimes the instinct to trust, although complicated, was right. How could they throw all those sweet moments away, and botch an explanation that he had ulterior motives this whole time? That they were were nothing but lies? Lies? From this wavy-haired wholesome boy-next-door actor, with that face? Not convincing. Poorly done. Instead, the writers could have explained that, while the normie murders happened at the explicit instruction of LG (who essentially controlled his alter ego), and he also hurt himself because LG had him self-mutilate, 1. killing Rowan was a passion crime to save Wednesday (no, he did not know in advance that LG needed W alive for a ritual-he spontaneously transformed when he saw W in danger) and 2. despite instruction to kill Eugene, he stopped himself from it because his human side seeped in to remind him that Eugene was W’s friend. Yes, the dad would have been livid and had him subsequently chained up under constant watch at the police station, but Sheriff Galpin (who, long sidenote, may have suspected but did not already know his son was the monster-otherwise why would he have pressed on with the investigation? Why focus on the evidence board when he could stalk his son’s every move? Would he have fooled all the other people involved, when he’s a man of the law? Wouldn’t this have left Tyler at risk of getting shot? Homelife would have been way more tense, too, if the dad had been sniffing the son’s trail-it just doesn’t make sense that the sheriff would have known all this time) anyway, the sheriff trusted that W and other outcasts were there to help T.
(Cont.) So, imagine a new opening to the episode: an uncovered secret where Faulkner actually had cracked the code to hydes, but still died trying to make it work. Bianca has to swim to the middle of the lake to retrieve a thing (something like piece of jewellery or a rare substance to ingest) which is key to a hyde’s self-control and awareness. W and the sirens ambush T, tie him up, give him the thing, then use hypnosis/a song/a childhood memory to unlock him. To their fear and amazement, this works-but instead of bowing down to a new master, we have a newly-unlocked T, outside of LG’s control, better able to control and be aware of his second nature. Either, the sheriff watches directly or is shown a repeat later. With this, we see Bianca’s monster form, put siren song to epic use, reveal the true monster, absolve Xavier, leave the sheriff’s reputation intact, and save our love interest. Yep, he gets locked up because danger and justice, but he’s still not a villain. The rule is Tyler's human form never remembers what happens pre-transformation or while in hyde form. Furthermore, we leave the full mystery behind T’s hyde mom and her death for the next season. Now, Principal Weems did not have to die---specially not while in a dark room in front of only 1 other person. We didn't get to learn enough about her, and only saw her power in use, maybe twice? If she was gonna die it should have been waaaaay sadder and more grandiose. Na, she shouldn't have died at all. Of nightshade poisoning, the same stuff a-hole Garrett died of? What is the meaning of that!? Hers should have been a cornerstone character for seasons to come. If they couldn’t afford/keep Gwendoline Christie for another season, at least leave the door open. I did really like it when Weems and Wednesday used the shapeshifting to mask as Tyler and trick Thornhill/LG into confession (that scene had the audience on edge for a bit, which was cool). Even so, I would have preferred a totally blindsided Wednesday who did not once again thoroughly explain the villain’s own plan to their face (that scene felt like a replay of Episode 7 with X in his studio and with Kimbott in her office). Weems could have shapeshifted in a similarly tense scene, later, and come out alive.
(Cont.) The icing on this cake of disappointment was Thornhill/LG revealing her true colours with a glasses removal (seriously?) and Crackstone zombie sorcerer showing up for a total of 11 minutes. I kept looking at the screen with both of them in frame being like "Is this it? Our worst nightmare?” Yawn. Instead, the writers could have toyed with us longer with the Kimbott hypothesis, maybe with a freshly re-unlocked Tyler with major headaches struggling to put memories together while others pressed him on for info on her, what she had planned with Crackstone and why his alter ego would kill his own master. These questions should have been keeping them wondering, but less on guard: “With LG presumably now dead, and hyde revealed and under control, is there still a threat, is Rowan’s prophecy still gonna happen? Maybe not, maybe we're saved.” Cue another little school event to look forward to and lighten the mood. Throughout the episode, however, Xavier would have been obsessing over his prophetic dreams and continued investigating-first from his jail cell and later back in his studio and own bed at Nevermore. Except, X’s guard would not be down-he never believes the Kimbott hypothesis. After all, he knew what it felt like to be wrongly accused, and he’d known his therapist for years longer than anyone. We could even say he mourned her death, and have a burial scene where next to one visits Kimbott because she’s presumed to have been a vengeful psychopath, but X is there. Then, we have a new dream and a cryptic painting, just not in time to warn Wednesday, because…
(Cont.) The real LG has been readjusting her plans with hyde henchman now beyond her reach. All the other plot points have been diverting the audience. If you want, the final school event could have been her idea, a way to ensure no students were near the crypt the night of the red moon. She could have kidnapped Wednesday all by herself via friendly face and a potion to make her resurrection ritual happen. It should have been around this time that Eugene reawakens to alert an inquisitive X who skipped the event and went to visit him at the hospital that “This is what I saw the night I was attacked” which would corroborate X’s newest dream. An isolated W should have been completely surprised to reawaken at the crypt and stare at the real LG. And I mean blindsided-this protagonist needed some humbling. Then, when Crackstone finally arrives, that guy should have been an absolute force and waaaay scarier. If anything was going to properly stop him/save Wednesday it should not have randomly been an already broken sword at the hands of former nemesis Bianca as they did in the episode, but knick-of-time werewolf onslaught with WEREWOLF ENID and the power of friendship allowing Wednesday to pierce his black heart-ugh, as much as the SFX were good, I hated seeing Enid and Tyler fight because it made little sense symbolically. So much better if Enid fights side by side with W. Ugh, and there were so many cheesy moments, too. With Ajax, with other school people? Unbelievable. If we needed sweetness, we could have had a CZJ cameo during the necklace/Goody moment, for some mother-daughter bonding.
(Cont.) So, back up a bit: Eugene and X know who the villain is and that Wednesday is in trouble so they head back to the school and tell Weems mid-event. Next, the event is crashed and everyone including all police (no slashed tires in this scenario) has been alerted to go to there because, ya know, a pilgrim zombie has now emerged out of an island crypt to light everything on fire. Zombie is so powerful that he’s immune to gorgons, sirens and bullets, Wednesday is struggling and the werewolves are running over to help. Meanwhile, an overconfident LG decides that since Crackstone has the school in chaos and will take care of it, she has one more outcast to get rid of, her hyde at the police station in Jericho. On her way out of the school (where, again, no one except now 4 people know she’s behind all of this) she encounters Tyler entering, so she says something like “just the outcast I needed” and after some banter she performs the chemical inducement and Tyler immediately transforms. The hyde then turns against the former master and hits her, at which point the chemical actually kicks in to make Weems dizzy, returning her to her original form, but unconscious. Weems was attempting to trick both the audience and LG that she was Tyler and about to subdue her, but the plan fails. Instead, in the next scene we have LG bypassing police cars with the excuse that she’s gonna drive Weems to get medical attention. Meanwhile, Crackstone is destroyed (here’s power of friendship: massive werewolf Enid is holding him down, X passes W his bow and arrow, Bianca directs a siren song at W that says “Finish him”, Eugene is there… being adorable and back from a coma). People barely hug/catch their breath thinking it’s finally over when someone’s like “Where is she?” and W is like “Tyler!” Next scene, LG has set a car on fire with unconsious Weems inside (which she'll either escape or be saved from), and is walking into the police station. Soon after, Wednesday and the sheriff arrive…
OK I've got a prediction !! I rewatched the 2 episodes that the Pics were taken - I found NOTHING !! There is no clues or anyone in background that stands out in those scenes that I can see. HOWEVER, A SECRET character who has not been seen yet was mentioned.... No not Xaviers Dad !! It's INEZ BLOOM !! Episode 6 Mayor asks Secretary if she called again? Yes Secretary replies calling about lights on at the 'OLD GATES PLACE" - Guess where Wednesday & friends were that night? INEZ is spying on them for the Mayor !! and therefore the STALKER !!
He was but like all the witch finders they were con men and used their power for personal gain He probably persecuted his own kind for the worship and power the people gave him, and probably said God gave him those powers to protect them from evil
He could be traitor who persecuted his own kind, taken into account, that telekinesis does brings it's user into insanity (as we saw), there is chance, he himself didn't realized it and saw his power as gift from God. There is also option, that they were side effects of curse, that bind his soul into this relam (as form of punishment) and following resurrection ( if you revive your hero as weapon against nevermore, you will revive him as strongest undead you can, no? And not some skeleton that breaks after hit of baseball bat). In myths, Vampires are cursed creatures and they existence is form of punishment, but still get some sweet superpowers out of it.
Yeah, this was my first thought as well. Either he had to have also been an outcast, which I actually doubt, or it seems they overlooked something to make the prophecy be more exciting in the final episode than Wednesday fighting a powerless pilgrim brought back from the dead. It seemed his power in the past was his control of others via fear and scapegoating. I felt like Laurel should have either some reaction to her ancestor seeming to have powers like the outcasts they hate or at least when he turns on her she could realize just what she had actually done in killing innocent people to bring back this dick that doesn't even appreciate what she did to bring him back. Something more than her "never meet your heroes" line.
Yes but knowing Xavier he probably already saved his contact on her phone. So it shouldn’t have come up as unknown caller… someone tampered with the phone which is my guess the obsessed stalker.
Xavier saved his number so it would say Xavier and not unknown caller . For now Xavier is a good guy , still not explained why he have those monster videos he did mention somebody in his family had similar powers so maybe he can see things as they happen
It's an Adams Family spin-off series but the story line could have been modified to a new Sabrina series or any "High School" fantasy series to be shopped around.
I liked everything about this series. Some things were a little telegraphed, but was all entertaining. The main actress nailed it. Ans she loved, pun intended ;-)

They threw away a perfectly made reveal of who the villains were in exchange for an awful twist that made no sense and came out of literal nowhere. Rather than saving Joseph Crackstone to be the villain of season 2 and have him be a more fleshed out (or at least better explained) character, they chose to kill him off in like 5 seconds. Why did a dude who hated witches have a magical staff? Who knows. There was no buildup or satisfaction to his defeat. It kinda just happened. Enid wolfing out was supposed to be a special moment, but it kinda just happened really quickly. Eugine coming in with the bees was honestly just cringeworthy. The fact that Tyler was even a villain made absolutely no sense. There was no hints to it, and they just made him do a complete 180 on his personality that had been built up the whole season. They didn't even have the nerve to confirm if he actually died or not. The fact that Xavier just forgave Wednesday for manipulating him and getting him falsely arrested is just a really toxic message. Additionally, the ruined her whole character arc by making her literally torture the person she was falling in love with despite all of her friends saying not to. She didn't seem to show the slightest bit of remorse for what she did to Xavier. To finish it all off, they're going to have some completely new villain for next season. They're either make a character we've already seen into a villain for no reason, or just make it some random person again. I can already predict that this show is just gonna have seasonal villains and that there's gonna be no actual lasting threats.

Sure the villains this season were really interesting concepts, meanwhile the evil text message villain seems so beyond basic. If they manage to turn this show around next season and have it be good from start to finish, then that might make up for this.
It’s Stranger Things vs Wednesday. The latter in ST has telekinetic powers like Jean Grey while the other has none but fearless and has immortality from her ancestors. Both great TV series.

One possible theory of who took the photos and who was the stalker was the weird creepy guy who entered Uriah Heaps store to steal a camera. That episode was when all of the outcast were doing charity work, and Enid and Ajax were there. I suspect that the creepy guy who stole the camera may be Xavier’s dad and his dad may want to stalk Wednesday and get his revenge because Wednesday accused Xavier and put him behind bars.
I just want to figure out that why The stalker threatened her with the picture of Tyler and Xavier only? Means why only these two who were romantically intrested in her? Why not Eugine, Enid, Bianca, etc? Is there any connection between those two or there is something hint about Love triangles?? Goody tells her she is better alone but her mom tell her to be in romantic relationship. Quite confusing
And do you think "Wednesday" is a name? You do realize she is called Goody Addams in the show right. Meaning it's her name, your comment would be like if I said "Wednesday isn't a name. It's the third day of the week when the show explicitly states it is.

Honest to god, I understand Ricci was in this to mentor Ortega, but honest to god, I think she died for a big reason. If they ever need an Adult wednesday, it will 50% probability Ricci takes the role. Although Ortega did an amazing job portraiting Wednesday, Ricci will always be the true Wednesday.
I watched the entire thing. Then the next day, I watched the original movies. I can honestly say I like the movies better. The show seems like it drew too much inspiration from Harry Potter and That's So Raven. The show isn't bad by any means, but it could have been so much better.
I enjoyed the show and I love the new Wednesday character. I didn't mind the ending either, I actually expected that since they were dropping hints all season about it lol. I thought that Gomez was too soft spoken, and I did not like Morticia at all. The rest of the cast I thought was great :)

Every cliché going, the villain was obvious too, however I genuinely enjoyed the show, watched 4 episodes a day, and I'd love another season 👍 The acting was good it looked great and Thing was really well done Felt like Netflix's Sabrina with the vibe and age rating of the later Harry Potter movies, now I've got to go finish Sabrina, I got half way through with that and started something else and forgot about it 🤷♂️

I enjoy the show but I’m still conflicted about the twist with Laurel Gates, maybe a bit of it is just my bias on Christiana Ricci used to play Wednesday and now she’s playing a villain, which in a way is a really interesting surprise but I’m just not sure of the way they handle this, also her character is really sweet initially and I thought there’re some interesting traits that can make her a great mentor and friend to Wednesday then boom the twist that she’s…evil
Am I the only one thinking the Hyde looks like the gargantuar zombie in Plants vs zombies? What makes Xavier an outcast? He looks like just a pretty boy who can shoot well with a bow and is an artist.
Overall really enjoyed the Season 1 - great portrayal of Wednesday by Jenna and well supported by surrounding cast. But felt direction fell apart in the last episode -- the whole reawakening and the final battle degraded into Disney pseudo-satanic blood bath and witchcraft which is NOT what Addams family is about. Director didn't learn from JK Rowling example (and success) that magic does not equal satanism. Also Wednesday's lines began to sound rather woke - hope this isn't the direction for the future.
@@aliciarice9617 Saw her wearing them when she wasn't in costume too. Perhaps Jenna just likes the style, or perhaps she wore them all the time on set to become comfortable with the shoes and Wednesday's "walk."

She could've shapeshifted her insides to those than can counteract the poison. They can bring her back very easily

It’s not confirmed that there will be a season 2 but it you saw Wednesday finished her poem she typed “The End?” This depends on the movie meaning there will be a part 2 but is most likely to have a different topic focusing on different characters, For example Enid we didn’t know her past or Wednesdays parents “Morticia and gomez” we don’t know their childhood their parents we didn’t even see the them at the end of the episode…

The ending with Crackstone made absolutely no sense - he freely used magic / witchcraft which was in stark contrast to his anti-witchcraft origins.

Thats what I think. Burton was actually supposed to direct that film and the first one but ended up turning it down. I think he did not get the creative control he wanted possibly.

If you took the Harry Potter series, "Stranger Things," "Enola Holmes," and the Adams Family, run them all through a meat grinder, and spread the bloody results on a mortuary slab, you'd get "Wednesday." Brilliant!
The plot twist at the end of Episode 7 was indeed very interesting and left me wondering how they were going to reconcile the main character's love interest also being one of the main antagonists. We had also been left with the doubts about whether Dr. Kimbott truly was Laurel Gates or not.
Man, I was so disappointed with this last episode. Our love interest---thrown out the window. The ultimate villains-barely savoured and borderline comical. Some of the best acting on the show, complex character with both grit and restraint, freaking Brienne of Tarth---unceremoniously killed.
I wish they had slowed the episode down and taken a different direction. An extended final episode would have achieved this.
(Cont.) Tyler the hyde could have been unlocked anew via siren song, been permitted to control his monstrous alter ego with another revealed secret, and been morally excused from the murders he committed while obliviously transformed. His tenderness for Wednesday should have remained both genuine and important to the plot---W needed a person who proved that sometimes the instinct to trust, although complicated, was right. How could they throw all those sweet moments away, and botch an explanation that he had ulterior motives this whole time? That they were were nothing but lies? Lies? From this wavy-haired wholesome boy-next-door actor, with that face? Not convincing. Poorly done.
Instead, the writers could have explained that, while the normie murders happened at the explicit instruction of LG (who essentially controlled his alter ego), and he also hurt himself because LG had him self-mutilate, 1. killing Rowan was a passion crime to save Wednesday (no, he did not know in advance that LG needed W alive for a ritual-he spontaneously transformed when he saw W in danger) and 2. despite instruction to kill Eugene, he stopped himself from it because his human side seeped in to remind him that Eugene was W’s friend.
Yes, the dad would have been livid and had him subsequently chained up under constant watch at the police station, but Sheriff Galpin (who, long sidenote, may have suspected but did not already know his son was the monster-otherwise why would he have pressed on with the investigation? Why focus on the evidence board when he could stalk his son’s every move? Would he have fooled all the other people involved, when he’s a man of the law? Wouldn’t this have left Tyler at risk of getting shot? Homelife would have been way more tense, too, if the dad had been sniffing the son’s trail-it just doesn’t make sense that the sheriff would have known all this time) anyway, the sheriff trusted that W and other outcasts were there to help T.
(Cont.) So, imagine a new opening to the episode: an uncovered secret where Faulkner actually had cracked the code to hydes, but still died trying to make it work. Bianca has to swim to the middle of the lake to retrieve a thing (something like piece of jewellery or a rare substance to ingest) which is key to a hyde’s self-control and awareness. W and the sirens ambush T, tie him up, give him the thing, then use hypnosis/a song/a childhood memory to unlock him. To their fear and amazement, this works-but instead of bowing down to a new master, we have a newly-unlocked T, outside of LG’s control, better able to control and be aware of his second nature. Either, the sheriff watches directly or is shown a repeat later. With this, we see Bianca’s monster form, put siren song to epic use, reveal the true monster, absolve Xavier, leave the sheriff’s reputation intact, and save our love interest. Yep, he gets locked up because danger and justice, but he’s still not a villain. The rule is Tyler's human form never remembers what happens pre-transformation or while in hyde form. Furthermore, we leave the full mystery behind T’s hyde mom and her death for the next season.
Now, Principal Weems did not have to die---specially not while in a dark room in front of only 1 other person. We didn't get to learn enough about her, and only saw her power in use, maybe twice? If she was gonna die it should have been waaaaay sadder and more grandiose. Na, she shouldn't have died at all. Of nightshade poisoning, the same stuff a-hole Garrett died of? What is the meaning of that!? Hers should have been a cornerstone character for seasons to come. If they couldn’t afford/keep Gwendoline Christie for another season, at least leave the door open. I did really like it when Weems and Wednesday used the shapeshifting to mask as Tyler and trick Thornhill/LG into confession (that scene had the audience on edge for a bit, which was cool). Even so, I would have preferred a totally blindsided Wednesday who did not once again thoroughly explain the villain’s own plan to their face (that scene felt like a replay of Episode 7 with X in his studio and with Kimbott in her office). Weems could have shapeshifted in a similarly tense scene, later, and come out alive.
(Cont.) The icing on this cake of disappointment was Thornhill/LG revealing her true colours with a glasses removal (seriously?) and Crackstone zombie sorcerer showing up for a total of 11 minutes. I kept looking at the screen with both of them in frame being like "Is this it? Our worst nightmare?” Yawn.
Instead, the writers could have toyed with us longer with the Kimbott hypothesis, maybe with a freshly re-unlocked Tyler with major headaches struggling to put memories together while others pressed him on for info on her, what she had planned with Crackstone and why his alter ego would kill his own master. These questions should have been keeping them wondering, but less on guard: “With LG presumably now dead, and hyde revealed and under control, is there still a threat, is Rowan’s prophecy still gonna happen? Maybe not, maybe we're saved.” Cue another little school event to look forward to and lighten the mood.
Throughout the episode, however, Xavier would have been obsessing over his prophetic dreams and continued investigating-first from his jail cell and later back in his studio and own bed at Nevermore. Except, X’s guard would not be down-he never believes the Kimbott hypothesis. After all, he knew what it felt like to be wrongly accused, and he’d known his therapist for years longer than anyone. We could even say he mourned her death, and have a burial scene where next to one visits Kimbott because she’s presumed to have been a vengeful psychopath, but X is there. Then, we have a new dream and a cryptic painting, just not in time to warn Wednesday, because…
(Cont.) The real LG has been readjusting her plans with hyde henchman now beyond her reach. All the other plot points have been diverting the audience. If you want, the final school event could have been her idea, a way to ensure no students were near the crypt the night of the red moon. She could have kidnapped Wednesday all by herself via friendly face and a potion to make her resurrection ritual happen. It should have been around this time that Eugene reawakens to alert an inquisitive X who skipped the event and went to visit him at the hospital that “This is what I saw the night I was attacked” which would corroborate X’s newest dream. An isolated W should have been completely surprised to reawaken at the crypt and stare at the real LG. And I mean blindsided-this protagonist needed some humbling. Then, when Crackstone finally arrives, that guy should have been an absolute force and waaaay scarier. If anything was going to properly stop him/save Wednesday it should not have randomly been an already broken sword at the hands of former nemesis Bianca as they did in the episode, but knick-of-time werewolf onslaught with WEREWOLF ENID and the power of friendship allowing Wednesday to pierce his black heart-ugh, as much as the SFX were good, I hated seeing Enid and Tyler fight because it made little sense symbolically. So much better if Enid fights side by side with W. Ugh, and there were so many cheesy moments, too. With Ajax, with other school people? Unbelievable. If we needed sweetness, we could have had a CZJ cameo during the necklace/Goody moment, for some mother-daughter bonding.
(Cont.) So, back up a bit: Eugene and X know who the villain is and that Wednesday is in trouble so they head back to the school and tell Weems mid-event. Next, the event is crashed and everyone including all police (no slashed tires in this scenario) has been alerted to go to there because, ya know, a pilgrim zombie has now emerged out of an island crypt to light everything on fire. Zombie is so powerful that he’s immune to gorgons, sirens and bullets, Wednesday is struggling and the werewolves are running over to help.
Meanwhile, an overconfident LG decides that since Crackstone has the school in chaos and will take care of it, she has one more outcast to get rid of, her hyde at the police station in Jericho. On her way out of the school (where, again, no one except now 4 people know she’s behind all of this) she encounters Tyler entering, so she says something like “just the outcast I needed” and after some banter she performs the chemical inducement and Tyler immediately transforms. The hyde then turns against the former master and hits her, at which point the chemical actually kicks in to make Weems dizzy, returning her to her original form, but unconscious. Weems was attempting to trick both the audience and LG that she was Tyler and about to subdue her, but the plan fails. Instead, in the next scene we have LG bypassing police cars with the excuse that she’s gonna drive Weems to get medical attention.
Meanwhile, Crackstone is destroyed (here’s power of friendship: massive werewolf Enid is holding him down, X passes W his bow and arrow, Bianca directs a siren song at W that says “Finish him”, Eugene is there… being adorable and back from a coma). People barely hug/catch their breath thinking it’s finally over when someone’s like “Where is she?” and W is like “Tyler!” Next scene, LG has set a car on fire with unconsious Weems inside (which she'll either escape or be saved from), and is walking into the police station. Soon after, Wednesday and the sheriff arrive…

OK I've got a prediction !! I rewatched the 2 episodes that the Pics were taken - I found NOTHING !! There is no clues or anyone in background that stands out in those scenes that I can see. HOWEVER, A SECRET character who has not been seen yet was mentioned.... No not Xaviers Dad !! It's INEZ BLOOM !! Episode 6 Mayor asks Secretary if she called again? Yes Secretary replies calling about lights on at the 'OLD GATES PLACE" - Guess where Wednesday & friends were that night? INEZ is spying on them for the Mayor !! and therefore the STALKER !!
I seem to remember that the secretary?/police officer? reported "they got a call about ..." So, maybe she wasn't.

I don’t get why Crackstone got magic powers/had magic powers unless he was an outcast himself
He was but like all the witch finders they were con men and used their power for personal gain
He probably persecuted his own kind for the worship and power the people gave him, and probably said God gave him those powers to protect them from evil
He could be traitor who persecuted his own kind, taken into account, that telekinesis does brings it's user into insanity (as we saw), there is chance, he himself didn't realized it and saw his power as gift from God. There is also option, that they were side effects of curse, that bind his soul into this relam (as form of punishment) and following resurrection ( if you revive your hero as weapon against nevermore, you will revive him as strongest undead you can, no? And not some skeleton that breaks after hit of baseball bat). In myths, Vampires are cursed creatures and they existence is form of punishment, but still get some sweet superpowers out of it.

Yeah, this was my first thought as well. Either he had to have also been an outcast, which I actually doubt, or it seems they overlooked something to make the prophecy be more exciting in the final episode than Wednesday fighting a powerless pilgrim brought back from the dead. It seemed his power in the past was his control of others via fear and scapegoating.
I felt like Laurel should have either some reaction to her ancestor seeming to have powers like the outcasts they hate or at least when he turns on her she could realize just what she had actually done in killing innocent people to bring back this dick that doesn't even appreciate what she did to bring him back. Something more than her "never meet your heroes" line.

It's an Adams Family spin-off series but the story line could have been modified to a new Sabrina series or any "High School" fantasy series to be shopped around.

I didn't. The first 7 episodes were incredible. Episode 8 managed to ruin every single aspect of it.

They threw away a perfectly made reveal of who the villains were in exchange for an awful twist that made no sense and came out of literal nowhere. Rather than saving Joseph Crackstone to be the villain of season 2 and have him be a more fleshed out (or at least better explained) character, they chose to kill him off in like 5 seconds. Why did a dude who hated witches have a magical staff? Who knows. There was no buildup or satisfaction to his defeat. It kinda just happened. Enid wolfing out was supposed to be a special moment, but it kinda just happened really quickly. Eugine coming in with the bees was honestly just cringeworthy. The fact that Tyler was even a villain made absolutely no sense. There was no hints to it, and they just made him do a complete 180 on his personality that had been built up the whole season. They didn't even have the nerve to confirm if he actually died or not. The fact that Xavier just forgave Wednesday for manipulating him and getting him falsely arrested is just a really toxic message. Additionally, the ruined her whole character arc by making her literally torture the person she was falling in love with despite all of her friends saying not to. She didn't seem to show the slightest bit of remorse for what she did to Xavier. To finish it all off, they're going to have some completely new villain for next season. They're either make a character we've already seen into a villain for no reason, or just make it some random person again. I can already predict that this show is just gonna have seasonal villains and that there's gonna be no actual lasting threats.

Sure the villains this season were really interesting concepts, meanwhile the evil text message villain seems so beyond basic. If they manage to turn this show around next season and have it be good from start to finish, then that might make up for this.

It’s Stranger Things vs Wednesday. The latter in ST has telekinetic powers like Jean Grey while the other has none but fearless and has immortality from her ancestors. Both great TV series.
I'm still hoping for the turn of events for Tyler. That first kiss won't happen just for nothing.
He killed several people and tried to kill her and her friends. There is no turn of events for that. Even Wednesday has her limits.

One possible theory of who took the photos and who was the stalker was the weird creepy guy who entered Uriah Heaps store to steal a camera. That episode was when all of the outcast were doing charity work, and Enid and Ajax were there. I suspect that the creepy guy who stole the camera may be Xavier’s dad and his dad may want to stalk Wednesday and get his revenge because Wednesday accused Xavier and put him behind bars.
I think the thief was the homeless, who was murdered in the ruins, and the camera continued to take pictures while the "Hyde" killed him.
I know this isn't a romance but hey I don't like how xavier and Wednesday ended like that ,like no hugs? Not even a touch! Season 2 is a must!

I love there was a build up in the first episodes. The last episode thoooo... it was such a downer and anti-climactic.
The first 4 episodes were directed by Tim Burton. I loved the whole season but you can feel the change in direction at episode 5

Honest to god, I understand Ricci was in this to mentor Ortega, but honest to god, I think she died for a big reason. If they ever need an Adult wednesday, it will 50% probability Ricci takes the role. Although Ortega did an amazing job portraiting Wednesday, Ricci will always be the true Wednesday.

I watched the entire thing. Then the next day, I watched the original movies. I can honestly say I like the movies better. The show seems like it drew too much inspiration from Harry Potter and That's So Raven. The show isn't bad by any means, but it could have been so much better.

I enjoyed the show and I love the new Wednesday character. I didn't mind the ending either, I actually expected that since they were dropping hints all season about it lol. I thought that Gomez was too soft spoken, and I did not like Morticia at all. The rest of the cast I thought was great :)

I enjoy the show but I’m still conflicted about the twist with Laurel Gates, maybe a bit of it is just my bias on Christiana Ricci used to play Wednesday and now she’s playing a villain, which in a way is a really interesting surprise but I’m just not sure of the way they handle this, also her character is really sweet initially and I thought there’re some interesting traits that can make her a great mentor and friend to Wednesday then boom the twist that she’s…evil

i think you missed a MAJOR family narrative plot that isnt ever explained....
Overall really enjoyed the Season 1 - great portrayal of Wednesday by Jenna and well supported by surrounding cast. But felt direction fell apart in the last episode -- the whole reawakening and the final battle degraded into Disney pseudo-satanic blood bath and witchcraft which is NOT what Addams family is about. Director didn't learn from JK Rowling example (and success) that magic does not equal satanism. Also Wednesday's lines began to sound rather woke - hope this isn't the direction for the future.

She wears them the whole time. I doubt it's to maximise her height as she's 20, playing a 16 year old.
