There were a couple of British lads who ran an organisation called Dark Justice wherein they posed as minors online, they would chat with adults and upon the adults asking to they'd turn up in bulletproof vests. They worked extensively with the police and got something like 150 convictions and 50-odd jail sentences. Their work resulted in a few cases going to the high court, the UK's Highest court, resulting in a ruling that attempting to meet a fake minor is legally no different from a real child. Proper inspiring stuff. I remember they did a long interview on national radio, LBC, which is an hour long. And you can find that on youtube, importantly none of their stings were put out on TH-cam.

while thats really cool, i think youtube and video evidence is a good thing, AS LONG as they follow a proper procedure. Revenue as a nonprofit so they can turn over the actual devices as evidence, access to better programs to fake "young" photos etc. And ive watched Colorda Ped Patrol (CPP) and getting these guys to admit and try to weasel there way out of a cop confrontation could be used as a statement to contradict any official statement. The more views also raises awareness for how prevalent this issue is.

Throwing a flash bang is actually VERY serious. It’s not like a videogame in which it is a temporary stun. There are recorded cases of people actually DYING and suffering from permanent blindness. It is a very lethal weapon and you should NOT use something like that unless you have the absolute authority to do so.

    • @AquaTech225
      @AquaTech225 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

I missed that part. But guess what. It’s impossible. A flashbang is a National Firearms Act regulated device by the ATF.
An people just don’t have them. An the people that do. Aren’t going to risk themselves tossing any flashbang at a pred or anyone else.
Each one has its own serial number and each serial number is registered to the ATF.
An to even be approved you have to send in multiple copies of your passport photo. 2 copies to the ATF a two copies to your local sheriff and copies of your finger prints. All of your finger prints each finger. included prints of 4 of them like entire finger aside from finger print tips only.
Plus pay $200 to the ATF as a tax. Than wait up to a year to maybe or maybe not even be approved. An your sheriff has to sign off on it also.
So in order to get one. It’s a a mess of a process to go through. An that’s if your lucky enough to even have crossed a legal avenue to buy one.
Otherwise you have to be some form or a SOT where your registered all kinds of ways with the ATF and allowed to build such devices a grenades ect.
Least that’s the hoops I had to do for suppressors ect for my guns. An some of my short barrel rifles. I did some as an individual a the others I got an attorney to write me up a Trust a their under the trust name.
So if anyone actually mentioned or did that. You can rest assured. What they had as a “flashbang” was nothing more than a toy a couple companies sell as a popper that may make a tiny flash or a pop. For people to throw at each other during airsoft games.
An them aren’t going to hurt anyone anykinda way.
So there’s no pred catcher throwing anything close to any real flashbang at anyone. You can take that to the bank. Ain’t happening nor ever going to happen.
Can’t believe everything ya hear or see. But them airsoft companies do call it that. But fact of the matter. Well it isn’t an it’s far from. A many times they don’t even go off. Their junk

Often times law enforcement doesn’t do much so they resort to “street justice”. With the group responsible for most of the catches that go viral, they’ve been doing this since I was in Ms/hs and initially, police presence was the route they took, however TH-cam would keep removing their channels and the cops wouldn’t do much because “no crime has actually been committed”, “entrapment” etc. I personally don’t see an issue w it. The damage they would’ve done to a real child is what I’m worried about. A lot of the guys who do successfully get arrested end up coming out and getting caught by them again so what can we say.

My hesitation as a survivor: people who make content out of this are reminiscent of the adults I grew up with who beat their chest and loudly proclaimed protecting children but always seemed willfully ignorant (at best) to complicit in this kind of thing happening within their circle. There is no simple short term gratifying hero moment in that.
This kind of vigilantism is about manufacturing what feels like a quickly solved dilemma. It’s feeding a sense of unearned accomplishment in a way that hinders the actual process.
Are they as bad as predators themselves? No. But they’re just as bad as the people who call victims liars and try to cover it up. Because they’re serving themselves and their interests over kids no matter how they try to justify it.

And frankly, I don't think it makes them heroes either. Because let's be real: predators don't morph into puppies. If they didn't think law enforcement could, or would, deal with these creeps (and they really did want to take out the trash) the last thing they'd want is a camera filming what would need to be done.

These predator hunters have given up on the legal system, and have jumped straight to the court of public opinion. I totally understand what you’re saying, and I would agree with you IF the judicial system worked as intended. Instead we have a system of plea deals and just generally soft convictions in a lot of areas where criminals are CONVICTED and then let to walk free with little to no real repercussions. DAP from what I can tell originally didn’t start assaulting the predators they caught until recently specifically because of this issue. They even often say in their videos that they do this specifically because they know at most the penalty they will get for beating a predator to a pulp is maybe a $300 fine if they ever get convicted/charged. These people are the result of a flawed legal system and the predators are the result of a flawed society that does not allow them to seek treatment for the mental health issues that make them attracted to minors.
