    I’ve covered over 2000 miles in my Refresh Tesla Model 3 Performance, so is it more efficient and better than the older model? We’ve been able to run it side by side on a number of occasions with the older version, PLUS against a Long Range non-Performance and a Standard Range.
    As well as efficiency, how are the charging speeds? is it faster at Supercharging?
    Is it worth changing from the old model to the new model?

    Great video as always Richard. Have you noticed the drop in performance with a reduction in charge? I’ve heard it’s a real problem for the performance?

    • @RSEV
      @RSEV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, appreciate the nice comment.
      The performance does drop as the charge state declines. By 70% state of charge and below it can be notable if side by side against another but not something you’d feel in real world. That’s only when below c. 40% I’d say, you can feel even on road it doesn’t have that final aggressive performance, far more “normal”

    any tips to make a basic model look better , I'm coming from a Bmw, and thinking basic standard range in black, small boot lid spoiler black rear windows, badges in black, but hate the Tesla wheels and maybe very sublet splitter and side skirts, v subtle ? anything else ? after market wheels any tips ? like performance wheels tbh but hate 18 and 19 options

    Which detailer did you use for ppf and ceramic coating Richard and do these put up the cost of insurance? Was it Jake at FCD? Picking up my M3P in 2 days so looking for any tips you have!

    • @stevenwilkins3687
      @stevenwilkins3687 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Shouldn’t put up your insurance. If they say yes then leave them. It’s not a modification in any way, it’s not a wrap and you’re not changing the manufacturer standard or performance of the car.

    Richard is there such a thing as a good second hand market in Model 3 yet, wouldn’t mind knowing more about that and if possible?

    • @RSEV
      @RSEV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well we sell plenty. I think there’s then mainly a real benefit in terms of being able to get one with FSD package that isn’t £7k more like when new. On the used market FSD adds a couple thousand to the car, but for example we have a 2019 performance with FSD under £50k whereas a new one today will be £67,000!

      I have yes! I have a video to release soon basically asking as a Tesla owner would I consider swapping to a polestar. The answer is no not for me. It’s nice enough and will be a preference for some, but it didn’t appeal enough to me.

    Some interesting comparisons between new 2021 refreshed models and the 2019/20 vehicles. I look forward to further comparisons with the Made in China Model 3’s that are due in March. I wonder how their Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries will stack up against Tesla’s Lithium-Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminum (NCA) chemistry?

    new heatpumps steal/scavenge some heat from the battery, to heat in the cabin. (so you can travel longer if you have a hot battery and almost have free heat in cabin. .
    The earlier activating of preheating the battery for charging and charging slower on the new model is probably related to colder battery, due to the new heat stealing pump. 🤣
    Probably the new performance can be driven harder on the racetrack because of the better battery cooling with the new heatpump, and later activating limp mode to protect battery.

    What kind of rear mudflaps are on your 2021 M3P? I bought the OEM Tesla front mudflaps but I haven't seen many rear ones. Those look pretty good. Also, can you tell if the new headlights have the same harness/wiring? My 2021 M3P which I picked up about a week before you in the US has the old style headlights. I want the new lights and am wondering if it's plug and play if I buy a set of the new lights. Thanks!

    • @RSEV
      @RSEV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oem front flaps are pretty rubbish!
      They’re jsut a set I was given actually, something third party from Amazon or something but yes they’re ok. The front ones were better too, I used them on another car which has since sold.
      So I’m left with the supplied oem fronts and a pair of old rears...
      But they’re fairly essential on a dark colour, especially for the carwow performance runs at 140mph on a gritty runway
