What people don't understand is that the Steelers Organization is not a cut throat organization. Everyone Knew Big Ben's Last 2 or 3 Years that he was a declining QB that the Steelers should have replaced, but out of Respect for what he accomplished the Steelers let him ride it out. Big Ben earned that! Other elements to the equation: Shazier Freakish retirement, Tuitt Freakish Retirement, Dwayne Haskins loss. Now, Tomlin's 3-year Extension will ignite a 3-year Super Bowl Run starting with the 2024 Steelers. Just add WR Courtland Sutton, OLB Golden, DT Calais Campbell and this team will be complete! Free Agents sign with the Steelers not for the $$$$ but because of Coach Mike Tomlin! The Steelers Organization never exploited this due to the traditional of strictly Drafting and Developing. Now, with The "Kahn" Artist a new regime and ideology of Roster Building by spending money on Free agents is a viable option.

Mike Tomlin didn't want Ben to go he was hanging on to him for dear life and trying to milk every last ounce of football out of him. The guy's a hack and they just make excuses for him because he's black. He hasn't done more with less the Steelers have been loaded during his tenure. He's just always outcoached, can't rein in his players, can't develop offensive players and has the benefit of working for one of the best organizations in the league especially when it pertains to the draft. How many terrible looking offensive players in his system leave and become serviceable contributors elsewhere. Y'all need to stop hyping this guy up like he's Bill Belichick or Andy Reid, he's not even Bill Cowher who set the table for his success. Winning off his success and then when it was his team to set the table he did nothing but burn the meal. What Lovie Smith and Jim Caldwell did was incredibly especially since their teams and organizations were nowhere near as good as Mike Tomlin's has been. They just didn't have the luxury of organizational stability.

Least 16 years. Taylor entering his 6th year. Very little coach turnover. The only time a coach leaves is for a bigger promotion with another team. For the most part they promote from

Sure, he has his flaws, but which coach doesn't. It is no doubt he has done more with less and if you really watch football, you understand this. Sure, we want to get over this playoff drought and I believe we can. I'd rather extend Tomlin than go through this cycle of three or four losing head coaches just for the sake of change. Many fans love putting the blame on one person instead of understanding how NFL organization are ran and how many people in an organization play an important part in putting together a playoff caliber team including (The Owner, GM, Asst GM, HC, Scouts, Coaching staff), so all of them are to blame for the struggles. Many fans seem to not know how much Art Rooney ll plays in the decisions. The HC's and coaching staff can only push mediocre players so far. They just have to work with what players they have. The Steelers have not had a full talented team capable of at least getting to the SB in awhile with all the players that aged and mistakes they made in recent drafts. There have been many changes around Tomlin (Omar, Andy, Smith, some scouts and some position coaches). Let's hope this new group works well together and can put a playoff caliber team together. It could take Omar, Andy and the others 3 off seasons and drafts to really get the offense rebuilt. Many haters here should listen to Florio and Simms here. They are pointing out many true things

Did Mike Tomlin draft Mason? Did he draft Kenny? The answers are of course not-he’s not the GM. The Steelers have had the worst QB in their division and bottom two or three QB play in the conference for several years. In today’s NFL, that ain’t getting you deep in the playoffs, let alone to the Super Bowl. But the Steelers have kept it together and fielded playoff/playoff adjacent teams. Very few clubs have lost a HoF QB and done that immediately after. Denver, Indy, and New England are all still in the wilderness. But that’s not the Standard. It’s Super Bowl or the team’s a failure. Hence the blame game with Mike taking the brunt.
