Another interesting thing about Metal Mario is that he is a sub-boss in Smash 64 and Melee, which is the primary reason why he is considered as a separate character and thus easily got into the Mario Kart series. I’m honestly kinda surprised he wasn’t added into one of those games sooner, and I’m also kinda surprised that he has t been in any Smash game since, even Ultimate as an echo fighter. …I mean, a *lot* of other characters I’m surprised aren’t in that game either, especially Conker despite having worse M rated franchise characters like Bayonetta, Joker, Snake, etc., but I’m kinda getting ahead of myself. Then again maybe not though since I think Banjo and Conker are technically a part of the same universe since they are linked to Rareware’s Donkey Kong and even originated in Diddy Kong Racing? I dunno, it’s kinda hard to tell sometimes. I’d allow it though, I love all of those original games. …But anyways yeah, Metal Mario, decent idea for him to be a standalone character. I just wish that he was utilized properly in a Mario platforming game of some sort. He doesn’t even need to be a part of something big like Sunshine, I just want to see him realized in general. If the Koopalings can be recognized in a game series like New Super Mario Bros., then I don’t see why Metal Mario can’t. Certainty having him among other more unique bosses like what they did with the first game on DS is a better idea. I even like how in Mario Kart 8 they made him act more robotic, which kinda reminds me of Robo Mario from the Mario Kart Arcade games in a way. I think having a reverse Dry Bowser situation with Metal Mario being his main form would be a good place to start. He’d probably be right around King Boo’s and Petey Piranha’s range if they actually do something with him. Pink Gold Peach can go straight to hell though. No significance whatsoever. I don’t even know why she was made outside of just padding out the Mario Kart 8 roster, and even then wouldn’t having someone else like Birdo or Diddy Kong be better? She’s not only lazy, she’s insulting to everyone’s intelligence. I don’t want to ever see her being added into a platforming game even ironically, she’s that bad. She’s a meme for a reason. Really the only thing I particularly disagree with on this list, as if it matters, is the placements of Toad, Toadette, and Birdo. I think Toad looks too similar to all the other generic Toads (The blue Toad in 3D World is seriously considered as the same guy as the red spotted blue vest one) and isn’t as interesting as someone else like Captain Toad, while Toadette looks a lot more unique, so I’d switch places with them. I know she’s in less games, it at least they’re *trying* to make up for that now by the time of Mario Kart 8, which is good since I thought back in the 2000’s that she was underrated. Maybe I’d place Donkey Kong over her though, I’m not sure, which also fits since she’s with the other girl characters in that tier. As for Birdo, I’d also put them in A either somewhere between Pauline and Dry Bones, but I can’t figure out which. Maybe I’d move Diddy Kong up in top B since he is indeed a pretty important character in the DK games, and I s do like him more than Peach. I don’t hate Peach, but most of the time she’s very bland to me. It certainly doesn’t help that she’s always a damsel in distress being unable to defend herself pretty much every single time. Pauline and Daisy are definitely much better than her by a long shot. I also probably would’ve placed Pauline just over Daisy since she’s part of the original Donkey Kong game and is therefore more important, but maybe that’s just me. Not hating against Daisy though of course, I like her too. Other than that, everything else seems about right. Yup. I think Yoshi might be a bit overrated at this point, but that doesn’t mean I like him any less. I’d probably place Waluigi over him, especially since with a character like Yoshi, Koopa, Birdo, Goomba, Dry Bones, Piranha Plant, and Lakitu they are all basically an overall species, but that’s it’s also because I like weird and interesting characters like him. Really it just depends on how a person feels I guess. Rosalina- way better than peach and protects a whole galaxy 5. Daisy- awesome athlete and way better than peach 6. Dk- he’s hilarious 7. Boo- he’s creepy but cool ghost 8. Bowser- iconic villain and I feel sorry for him 9. Bowser jr.- I love how much he loves his dad 10. Koopa- he’s a adorable turtle 🐢 Honorable Mentions 11. Waluigi- way better than wario and needs his own game 12. Diddy Kong- he’s a adorable monkey and I like his relationship with donkey Kong 13. Dry bones- he’s really cool
I might actually make a video on the Super Mario characters tier list sometime. Yoshi is S tier for many good reasons. He's loyal, cute, and there when you need him. He also literally has the best abilities of all the characters eating enemies whole, and being invincible to spikes. Luigi as well had to be in S tier. Great tier list man I respect your rankings.
