This is the third "New Construction" home I've purchased in the last 35 years, and I wish I had a resource like your videos a long time ago. Sorry you’re having such a bad experience. Every community has a different set of subcontractors. Your superintendent is held responsible for their quality of work. Definitely stay on them. Have you gotten your 3rd party inspections and working with a realtor?

Folks in my community want to sue, go to the media, stuff like that
To be real with u. I just want my crib fixed. That’s it and I don’t think I’m asking for too much. Imagine burning 400k on a brand new fixer upper. It’s wild. Meanwhile dr Horton corporate is amazingly useless
Are you aware there is a class action suit going on with them?

Thanks for sharing. In regard to the furnisher you're still waiting for, did stores indicate you'd have the pieces by a specific date? My concern is some of these stores, to get sales, are telling folks, "Oh yeah, you'll have your furnisher within a month" knowing very well it could take 6 months.
Hey! Yes, they told us it would take this long. The items we have received so far have come in about a month earlier than expected.
Recommend you get a house inspector if you haven’t already. They know the building code and will check everything and provide a report with pictures.
We have an entire video about our process with our inspector.
We've been enjoying your videos. Just found out we are closing at the end of the month w/ DH Horton. The inspection is Friday and the orientation is next week. It's crazy busy since I don't live in the state (yet) I've been visiting every month. I asked about a 6 month walk-through and they said they don't do that. They must have found out about your channel 🙂.

My question is, what state do you live in and do you guys have wood frame or concrete foundation because I know it depends on the state for example in Florida especially near the coast everything is concrete because we occasionally get hurricanes and floods

At the 11 month mark we had about 40 nail pops around the house and 5 cracks and a few other areas that needed to be smoothed. The crew came in and corrected everything. It’s all part of the house settling process. Pretty easy fix.

What plants you have planted in your backyard and front yard.
Hi there, we personally haven’t planted anything yet lol. However, the builder started off our landscaping with pine straw and Dwarf Naupaka plants in the backyard flower bed, several more Dwarf Naupaka on the sides of the house, and several August Beauty Gardenias in the front. Eventually, we’d like to start a cut flower garden in the backyard bed. Thank you for watching and following our journey!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I just bought a dr Horton home moving in about 2 weeks..so how is the quality of the build?do you have any issues? I was weary of buying a dr Horton home but I think it is jut the role of the dice I guess 😊
We have enjoyed everything about our home. We have an 11th month review you should check out. Overall, we are extremely satisfied.
I am looking at buying a home from Dr Horton that is maybe a month away from finishing, ifipurchase I will pay to have the home inspected, I like the home but scared because I see all the bad reviews out there, I am in the North Carolina area
Getting an inspection done is like having a finance advisor look over your investments. Nothing is perfect, but having a trained eye look over things will help you get a bit closer to perfection!
In the process of buying my home looked at Dr Horton but saw alot of bad reviews. Now I'm not sure if I should proceed wth purchase. Opinion plz
Every single home builder has bad reviews. DR Horton has a lot, some justified others are because the buyer didn’t do all that they could have done to identified potential mistakes. You should check out our “Is DR Horton the worst builder” video. I’d recommend you get a good realtor and hopefully they can tel you the experience they have had with the DR Horton teams within your area. We had an AMAZING experience, but other communities haven’t been so lucky. The teams are different in each and every community. So connect with a realtor in your area and they should be able to guide you.
I am under contract with DR Horton. They poured the driveway with no rebar or mesh. Somethings going on with the ducts not sure.... We are backing out.

No issues. Everything has been typical maintenance. Such as endless yard work 😅
I've heard horror stories about those home builders. Am I wrong? The usual story, leaks around the windows and mold....
Every builder has complaints. If you look on Facebook you can find a group dedicated to complaints for just about every builder. Our experience had been great, but we made sure we could get inspections and that the findings would be corrected before we even signed the contract. Things weren’t perfect, but we also don’t freak out about a gap between boards like some people. We just identify the issues and let the builder know and it was corrected.

Seems like you might be getting paid by DR Horton. I live in a DR Horton home built in 2011. Every corner that could be cut was cut. Cheep cabinets, cheap outlets, cheap windows that don't open and close, they stripped the top soil from our neighborhood sold it and replaced it with fill dirt. My back yard is filled with chunks of black top. Studs in interior walls are 24 inch on center. The kitchen cabinets were not screwed into a stud in places. The floors are a wave. There is not a straight line in this place. Everyone in my neighborhood has repainted their houses.
Seems like you might be getting paid by another builder. See how that assumption has zero merit to it. We are sharing our experience, which is been great. We share the pros and cons on our page. We have been 100% authentic. Go try to discredit someone else somewhere else.
Your house is beautiful, but yes, in the Midwest, DR Horton has a horrible reputation. Albeit the homes look nothing like what you have, so there might be some variation in quality/styles across the states. For instance, I notice your home has trim around the windows and the exterior doesn't look like a perfect square box. You have a guest bedroom on the 1st floor with French doors and full bath. Horton builds nothing like that in our area.
This is the only neighborhood we could find that actually had some curb appeal. Our neighborhood was started many years ago and DR Horton came in to finish it. They had to align their designs with the initial designs of the neighborhood.
Tract homes.
Forget it.
I'm hiring an architect
to place my home on land.
Forget this middle class
suburban stuff.

DR Horton is the worst builder you will find! Their crappy homes will cost you a fortune in future repairs. The cracks and gaps will keep growing, the excuses will get more ridiculous! Remember, they use the lowest bid subs no matter how bad they are. Don't count on inspectors being on your side either!

I can not believe this video was made in the light that it was. First off, you two act like you are the first people to buy a home. D. R. Horton homes are AWFUL! Thw quality is trash. Nothing, I repeat NOTHING, in a newly built home shoud be falling apart within the first year or two. No children or pets in the home I'm referring to. Just two retired adults in their 60s and 70s. Not a drawer front. Not a piece of molding. NOTHING!
Ive been buying houses for nearly fourty years and never have I ever experienced such poor quality as i have with D. R. Horton.
I can not believe your comment was written in the way it was written. First off, you came projecting your problems on us. Our DR Horton home is AMAZING! The quality is stellar. Everything, I repeat EVERYTHING, has met and exceeded our expectations. We are so happy with our home and DR Horton provided us an outstanding experience. 🤪
