As much as I am in awe of your digital drawing skills, I *REALLY* prefer these hand drawn sketches with the brainstorming on the other page. It's so satisfying to watch it all come together
That's where every artist begins (or should begin). Because you first need to master the real thing to then be fully able to pic the digital brushes. The digital tools imitate the real ones, adding some tools that are impossible in real life (as the ctrl+c) but one shouldn't rely on those, one should already know how to fix a mistake WITHOUT the ctrl+z, for example. As a professional artist, I prefer to work traditional, and then use digital help if needed, since it's very useful, but not *instead* of the real stuff. Makes a huge difference in the finished job. ✨️👌
Well, the Striga is based on slavic folklore - they were female undead, usually associated with swamps or murklands, possibly of women who drowned/died there. The barrel torso is due to bloating from the innards rotting, but other than that, they would have female features (and were often described as being able to mask their visage as when they were alive). The bloodied fangs and paws? Well they feasted on unwary travellers. And the 14yo girl? Technically, their form was derived from the bodies of deceased - and in the books, the girl was 14 when she was cursed to become a Striga...
If you're talking about the striga from the first story in the last wish, it was the other way around. The girl was born cursed, and was cured at age 14.
I actually loved your Striga design! Fairly close to how I pictured her in the book-- she's a 14-year-old who was turned into this monster. It's one of my favorite tales from that series.
Mate that first sketch was awesome. Even though you can’t see the wanderers face, you know exactly what his facial expression would be from his stance and the beast he’s stumbled upon. Love it when I can see details in art that aren’t even shown. Well played
honestly it's really visible jazza likes this series lol. like, the drawings are automatically so much better and there's so much thought put into the design. i mean, not like jazza's art isn't always amazing but it's just always so much better when you like what you draw. all the cryptids were a really good idea to add, there's so many of them and you can easily find the ones which are not as popular but you recognize them when you hear the name.
That would be amazing xD. They are such weird creatures, and although the movie versions had good designs, I was disappointed with them. They didn’t have the same vibe at all
OMG you just brought back such amazing memories!! I remember I always struggled to imagine them in a definitive way cause every time they were described there were new grotesque features about them that threw me off my previous ideas of how they could look like.
All four were amazing, but that Pennywise is like, straight from the nightmares that book gave me back when I read it for the first time. Loved your interpretation of the book description!
Yeah, that lanky, run-down look in the drawing really suits Pennywise... he looks a bit like Iron Maiden's "Eddie the Head" mascot in a low-rent clown getup, come to think of it, which actually kinda works in practice much better than it probably would have seemed on paper.
@@derekpayneszubliminals7723 They had such a good shot to make the true horror come to life, but then they just cut and changed so many things and it's just some comedic horror. I was so hyped to see an artistic interpretation of this horrible spider alien and they just go "oh what if Skarsgard but spider".
Some of the creatures from my country's folklore also have backwards feet, but they are like rapist leprechauns with ultra long penises wrapped around their small bodies like a meat belt. Lots of crazy monsters here!
Bro, your Pennywise is so much closer to how I have imagined it when I have read the book the first time in 1986. I always thought that both Curry and Skarsgard did not look like it at all. My imagination created a kind of partly decayed creature hiding these gross parts under make-up (which wasn't make-up after all). And it had an unnatural wide grin. A lot too wide. Congrats. Your sketch was amazingly close to how I would described the fucker.
It's good I think he messed up on the hair though because in the book it is described as two red tufts on either side of his head and bald on top "there were funny tufts of red hair on either side of his bald head, and there was a big clown-smile painted over his mouth."
Addendum: King's creatures in general. The Langoliers, the Kingfish (Insomnia), Atropos (Insomnia), the Librarian (The Library Policeman), the aliens from Tommyknockers, the God of the Lost (The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon), the Space Cowboy (Gerald's Game), Maturin (It), any of the beam guardians (Dark Tower)...
I guessed Oni right away lol. But I love Japanese mythology. It's a very distinct youkai. The blue/red, the loin cloth... there is a myth about the aoi and akai oni that makes these traits very recognizable if you know the story.
“Blue or red skin” really had me convinced already. Feelin’ proud of myself. Jazza’s depiction looks like something you’d see in WoW or something. It’s really fascinating to see the beast in a style that isn’t influenced by anything Japanese.
Red or Blue skin and the loin cloth got it for me immediately, I just completely got thrown by the eye numbers because I'm mostly accustomed to the anime depictions with them usually having two.
@@cathygrandstaff1957 I know, I have only seen a handful of depictions of oni outside anime and other media. I actually didn't know they had a varying number of eyes, it was interesting to learn that
Honestly, sometimes I just watch a Jazza video for the positive vibes and energy he gives off, especially with how difficult uni and life in general has been for me recently.
That picture of the clown attires reminded me of my childhood. It's from a pattern package for childrens' costumes. My mom had those exact same patterns, and I remember that picture. Love your artistry. It is truly wonderful watching what you create, as you create it.
I immediately knew that the last one was the Striga, Adda's story really is a tragic one. She was stillborn, she died along with her mother, 7 years later she was transformed into the Striga and Geralt freed her when she was 14. There are a lot more details to her story, but that's the short version.
@@qaugithaduck5771 What do you mean, I obviously know how to spell the name of the main character of a world renowned series that has books, games and shows.
@@Greedsmith yeah. And anyway who would even just completely accidentally call Geralt, Gerald instead. Its not even close... comment edited is just pure coincidence lol :D and just to be clear i dont mean any harm. I was just pulling your legs.
The Black Cauldron could be an interesting one to do especially if you were to do a side by comparison with how Disney interpreted the characters versus how the author Lloyd Alexander described the characters in his book.
I love seeing your thought process. The left page is always so interesting to me, and I'm glad you're willing to show us your creative process along the way to making the final drawing.
I agree, I 👎drew before Jazza started✍️. But now, it’s like I actually understand the 🌎! 😮🤩! Does anyone else think jazza’s one of the best artists?👨🎨
In German (to be more specific Bavarian) Folklore we have this thing called "Wolpertinger". It isn't really a monster, more like a chimera. It's always an "animal" mixed together of other animals. Probably most famous is the depiction of a Rabbit with Duck Wings, Fangs and Antlers. For more different variations I suggest Google lol. Either way, I'd love to see Jazza take on a Wolpertinger :D
Fun fact, the folklore is most likely based on rabbits which were infected with a disease that caused unusual growths to happen (SPV), they can look similar to antlers, fangs or beaks, specially in not ideal lighting, other folklore creatures most likely inspired by it were jackalopes
Imagine him doing the Lovecraft cosmic horror eldritch gods / monsters. Yog-Sothoth, Azathoth, Shub-Niggurath, Nyarlathotep, Sho-Gath, The Yellow King, Deep Ones, and so on. That would be amazing since it's hard to describe something that is "beyond our imagination". Would be a great challenge and love to see how he sees it. Great content as usual! Cheers!
I would really like to see more stuff from the lovecraft mythos as well. Elder things or yithians might as well be cool as they are so weird. I might also be interesting to try to work based on the feeling of the story instead of just the concrete description. Which I guess is most you get with most of the outer gods. I wonder what would happen if you just gave for example this as description and told it was an outer god and saw where it goes: "Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth's fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread."
I perfer hand drawn over the digital, I have great respect for the talented artists that produced those cartoons i grew up watching😁 Your drawings are pretty darn great, also you got a good visual imagination and able to flawlessly display it in your work.👍👍
I have three cool monsters that Jazza would be absolutely clueless of: 1. Bunyip (Amphibious monster from Australian Aboriginal mythology) 2. Godrick the Grafted (Elden Ring boss who grafts creatures to himself, including a dragon) 3. Krampus (European folklore “demon” who steals children on Christmas)
@@terramarini6880 Wendigo would be really cool if they went with the actually description of wendigos, because most fan art of wendigos is very very incorrect.
I’d love to see him do anything from Junji Ito! The Sandman would be cool, The Headless Horseman, Dementors, The Jabberwock, Kuchisake-Onna would be an amazing piece!
Never heard of it before, but your Yowie is 10x more amazing than the source material picture you showed in the video! Your drawing has such emotion in his face & eyes, and his bird-like hand claws look very natural. Amazing!
I'd love to see Jazza trying to draw a few folklore/mythology creatures from here like Iara, Boto cor de rosa, Curupira, Saci Perere, Boi bumbá, Mula sem cabeça..
I only know what a Boto is because I read the WebToon adaptation of the "Not Even Bones" trilogy. The first book has a Boto cor de rosa character in it, who is friends/allies with the main character. I haven't read the books at all, just the WebToon. I like her (the Boto), but her backstory like everyone else's in the series, is very tragic and gruesome.
I was thinking the same thing, cause the backwards feet and red hair gave me Curupira vibes (oh, my mistake, it was long dark hair and red eyes, I combined into one thing LOL)
I'm going to have to look some of these up cuz I've never heard of them I don't think. And the only creature I've ever known with backwards feet they look like a buggy or wolf type thing was in a game I played on steam and it's called wildflowers there was some mythical fake creature they look just like that I couldn't get past his feet being backwards It really tripped me out 🤣 But I agree I love to see him draw mythical creatures from their just their descriptions
The second I saw the description "14 year old girl" and "shaped like a barrel", I knew it was the striga. The mop of red hair is what confirmative for me. I got very excited when it popped up, and I do enjoy the interpretation that you drew xD Also, I have an interesting idea, if not obvious one. The "kuchiseke-onna" AKA the slit-mouthed women from Japanese folklore would be great. Really, any from Japanese/Asian mythology would be cool!
14 year old girl and red hair got it for me too. Also the TH-cam algorithm reading my mind again, as I’ve had the opening cinematic of the first Witcher game in my head all day.
- I could just give you that; My Oni, and be like “Hey, look, it’s a 14 year old girl from the witcher.” This line got me absolutely dying of laughter😂
YES, so good to see people still hand draw. Usually, it's ALWAYS digital, and the textures and warmth just aren't the same, plus I feel like I can smell these pictures ❤
Chasm Fiends from the Stormlight Archive! There aren't any depictions in media, but there are renditions in the books for us to see drawn by someone who is a character in the story! I think they would be really fun. There are a bunch of other creatures in that series that are very clearly described and I think it's kind of a treasure trove!
Even though the Striga came out WILDLY different lol, I loved your design. Honestly something like that would be even creepier. Like, imagine wandering through some old medieval town at night. It's foggy. It's darker than dark. And that thing comes shambling in and out of the shadows cast by lanterns or whatever. Would definitely make a good ghost story or something of the like.
I mean, the descriptions were from the book, and the people who made the game and the movie had to figure out how to create that from the description as well. So I don't necessarily think the game or movie got it any more right than this rendition did.
My personal interpretation of "splitting forehead" was a more vertical split rather than a horizontal split, yet your take feels both more and less terrifying, kind off giving me Five Nights at Freddy's 4 vibes and I absolutely love it.
Need more of this. It would be interesting to see you describe some things from various mythologies. Japanese gods, beasts and giants from the Norse mythology world, stuff like that. This series could be endless.
@@TheFreeest501 Well, it's only work, you can have it if you really want to ^^" I'm a drawer too. I got into an art school at 20 years old (I'm 22 now), and have I think a good level since I was considered as the best drawer in my class, where there was some people that I considered really good. And when did I started? At 15! When the best I could do was freaking stickmans I swear to you XD I was not able to do a single muscle on a human shape without failing the muscle itself, the proportions, and the human shape 🤣But I really wanted to be able to draw what I want, started from nothing, loved that, and it became a passion! So I worked hard and put a lot of time at reproducing pictures, trying things I wasn't still able to do, and I progressed in no time I can assure you! (Maybe in my case I'm helped with the fact that I see every mistakes with ease on drawings, so I rapidly know what to work on and how, but that's all). And even before I entered into my art school, I was able to draw a whole muscular human without any picture and without failing the muscles, the proportions, the posture, etc. Maybe some very very rare people are talented at the base due to pecularities, but most of the time, it's just work. You put time and effort to be able to draw at a good level. Takes a lot of effort tho to do what he do (Draw things "only" from his mind), but if you love draw, you can do it, just like anyone else. I've seen many people like you. Heard it myself "You're so talented, I wish I could draw like you", or even "You have a real gift" and you know, it mostly piss me of XD I know it came from a good intention, but in the end it's almost an insult, cause it makes me feel that all they see is the result, and not the work behind that. The thousands hours passed to draw to perfect myself, wiped away cause people think I'm just talented. There's nothing about being talented or having a gift. Draw is like anything else, if you want to be good at it, then you must work for it. But anyone can achieve that level, it's only a question of time and will ^^
@@WolffQuam bro, drawing was my hobby as a kid, I used to spend hours upon hours on trying to perfect what I was drawing, I know the frustration, you feel like no matter how hard you try, you just weren’t meant to draw
Drawing Booya Moon or the the Long Boys would be pretty epic. Liseys Story is one of my favorite books and I love imagining Booya Moon when I'm stressed.
Oh boy, I'd love to see some more obscure Lovecraft characters (Like Brown Jenkin) and maybe some more Mythological creatures, I suggest he looks into Dullahan or Nukelavee
Heck yeah, at least it would be funny to see him struggle with drawing the incomprehensible. I feel like with lovecraft The important parts are not what you can describe but the things that you can’t. Sort of like an AI generated image that I saw of live action Bob the builder. everything had Photo realistic textures. every single part of the image blended with everything that was around it in a way that was natural. only problem was that The distance each object was from the camera was not consistent. it is hard for the AI to know the difference between something being out of focus because the camera is not focused on it and being out of focus because the object is small and you are zooming in on it. I can’t describe what the image looks like just that the more you look at it the more wrong it appears. The idea that things can be far away and close at the same time is impossible to comprehend and yet there is an image of it that you can look at. Lovecraft would have a field day with that one.
I'll never get tired of watching the creative process you do before comitting to the final illustration I was able to guess the Striga. Granted, I'm re-reading the Witcher books at this moment so this description is still pretty fresh in my memory :) In the story, at the time when Geralt confronted her, she was a cursed 14-year old girl
Im obsessed with your striga design. If you would make a picture book out of all the charakters based on the book descriptions I would buy it. It totally captures the vibe of the books and how the monsters are described
Yeah Pennywise from the Book looks like a Clown, not a monster evil clown like 2017/2019 movies which should've been a 10-20 1 hour episodes on max. It's clown appearance is bait to lure children within ambush distance. Lures them in as a clown then becomes what scares them most so fear salts the meat of thr child just before striking. IT preys on children specifically because they have vivid imaginations and a werewolf scares a kid while overdue bills scares an adult. Because kids easily scare from monsters, IT preyed on kids primarily with exception because if they prey dies at a climax of visceral fear, IT says it salts the meat making the flesh taste better, which IT also feeds on fear itself. Just before they go back into the sewer as adults Richie makes a good point aside from saying something common sense like anyone bring guns? He points out that what if we go down there and it takes the shape of Alien from Alien 1979.
It would also be cool to see a Stranger Things themed episode where you draw each monster based on their inspired Dungeons and Dragons monsters’ descriptions. This series could go on forever honestly
For the ending prompt, it specifies '14 year old girl' because it's actually a reference to a specific Striga called Adda the White, who shows up in one of the short stories in 'The Last Wish'.
@@Thimbrethil The Last Wish short story is about how Geralt and Yennefer met, but the book of the same name also contains the short story The Witcher where Geralt fights the striga. It's the first book, too, even though the original publication order doesn't reflect that because the stories were already published before separately.
@@Thimbrethil You're absolutely right that the short story about Geralt and Yen meeting is calaled The Last Wish. However there's also a book called The Last Wish, which contains a bunch of short stories. The Last Wish (the short story) is in that book. It's a bit confusing, yes. XD
I just discovered your channel and have been watching your monster depiction videos! I’m getting very inspired to start doing art again. I mentioned it to my husband and he told me he was literally just thinking the same thing so I bought your pro sketch pack, and we are going to share it! Super inspired by your artistry! All your depiction’s are so cool! It’s really cool to see what the monsters would look like from only the descriptions from the books. You do a great job! Super excited to start sketching! 😁
I think a really cool monster to do would be the monster/creature from Mrs. Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children. It’s been a while since I read the book, so I don’t totally remember how they’re described there, but the way the movie depicts them is very cool.
it’s funny you brought up the monsters, because i did the hollows from the movie with all of the tentacles, for an art project where i did it in paper mache
Grendel or Grendel's mother from Beowulf would be pretty cool to see. Also, Yrael (Mogget's true form) from Garth Nix's Old Kingdom series would be another great one. (Really wish they'd make movies out of that series. It's such an unusual world and concept.)
A lot of really cool monsters from Christopher Paolini’s books! Whether they be from the Eragon series or his new sci fi book To Sleep In A See Of Stars! Beyond that Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files has some stellar monsters
actually with the striga i was confused as well, then i saw your drawing on the face and directly went like "this could be a striga!" so the description didnt give it away for me, but your confused drawing did the job :D
I honestly like what your team already started, getting into the Yokai (Japanese mythological monsters) and cryptis from different cultures. That's really cool, keep going team!
These videos are really fun! For a future book/movie character video, this prompt would be cool to see: 1. Middle aged man, around 50 2. Pale yellowish skin, like parchment. 3. Very thin and tall, dressed in black from head to toe(sometimes wears a cape with his suit) 4. His eyes are so sunken into his skull, you could easily miss the red shine from his irises peeking through at first glance(his eyes can also glow yellow in the dark) 5. Is mostly bald and only has a few wisps of ink-black hair on his head 6. A large hole where his nose should be and sunken in cheeks, giving him a skull-like appearance 7. Victorian Era
From the beginning of this serie, I'm thinking of Ra'zac and Lethrblaka from Eragon's novels! I think there is a quite precise descriptions in the book and I'm really interested to see Jazza's interpretation! (and to see if he knows and will recognise them)
You are so fortunate that you can do this! You are so good at it as well! What you are doing here is a natural talent, it is very intriguing and interesting to watch. I am personally artistically moot lol, I am very jealous of this skill set!
I got striga from the prompt. Your reaction to the reveal was hysterical jazz. 🤣 the show seriously cranked up the monster factor, but that is how a striga was described in the book.
Oh, you could try creatures from Brazilian folklore, like Boitatá, Curupira, or Cuca. I'm curious about how Jazza would depict them, and I'd be impressed if he guessed any 😂
These are seriously so much fun! I think Jazza should do more of the legend monsters like the Yowie. I would love to see his interpretations of more of these, there are so many out there you could definitely fill an entire episode, maybe two or three in a series!
There are tons of creatures from the TV show Supernatural that could be useful: wendigo, skinwalker, shapeshifter, djinn, etc. Another good source would be Harry Potter's fantastic beast book: dementor, hairy mcboon, hide-behind, lethifold, etc. It could be cool to see how he would draw the various mutts from Hunger Games (because the descriptions were very creepy, especially the third book) or maybe even supervillains like Killer Croc or the Scarecrow. Thanks for all the work on these videos, they are so cool!
The Thing with the Striga is that the only one we meet in the Witcher books used to be a 14 year old girl that was cursed. So thats where it comes from, I guessed it btw, the red bloody paws and the way you drew them gave me some Striga vibes.
1. Immediately knew it was an Oni : I’m a youkai fan. 2. Obviously, the second it looks like a clown, no surprise lol 3. Oh, that one was actually a new one for me ! Nice ! 4. We all got fooled by the « 14 years old girl » clue lol
@@michaelrondon5472 I didn't emerged (yet?) in the Witcher lore, so I'm gonna ask : Really ? So, all Striga are always created from 14 years old girls ?
In Scottish folklore there is a creature called "Redcap" it is depicted as: "a short, thickset old elf with long prominent teeth, skinny fingers armed with talons like eagles, large eyes of a fiery red colour, grisly hair streaming down his shoulders, and a red blood drenched cap on its head".
That was a good episode! I guessed Minotaur instead of Oni for number one and got two right with Pennywise. Had NO idea for #3 until you started sketching - and even then knew that "Rancor" from Star Wars wasn't right. Four was a complete oddball, and I would never have guessed a Striga in a million years from that description! Good job prep team, and good sketching! Now if we can get Nessy in on the show...
Its always great to see someone else's interpretation of characters you know and love. It almost gives new life to the picture I already had in my head. The teams prep work is top notch. I would love to see how he draws Jorg from The King of Thorns.
It's not a super super well known but if looove to see you draw the Shade (Durza) from Eragon, I think you'd be able to turn the description into something really awesome
The first drawing make me think of a Kull. It might be interesting to see the interpretation he goes for, between a more humanoid form or a more bestial one.
another idea if you can find them - the Chinese description of Europeans or the European descriptions of the Chinese which had the faace in the center of the torso, or the Roman bestiary description of African animals, like the Catoblepas which was a half remembered description of as giraffe, Balor one eye from Gaelic mythology would be an interesting idea
This is great! I absolutely adore seeing artists take on actual book descriptions, and seeing the variation in design. Yours all turned out wonderfully! Definitely wanna see more!
I would love to see your depiction of one of the big bad guys from LOTR, such as Sauron, Morgoth, or even Glaurung from Children of Hurin. Or another idea is Grendel/ Grendel’s mother from Beowulf. Great vids dude!
Would you ever consider making an episode featuring the aliens of Animorphs? That scifi series has so many amazing creatures I would like to see you draw. The world always needs more Animorphs content.
I'd love to see this guys interpretation of other lovecraft creatures, like the Yith or great old ones. Also Tash from Narnia chronicles has never had much attention, let alone a screen adaptation.
I always love seeing people's depictions of Elder Things -- they're a hard one to visualize. Also Lovecraftian: the original Thing from "Who Goes There?" -- in the story, it has a base shape that doesn't match either the "Thing From Another World" or John Carpenter's "The Thing": - Rubbery blue skin - Three red eyes - Worm-like tendrils that grow like hair - Four tentacle-like arms with seven tentacle-fingers on the end - Thin lips and snake-like fangs
This is the first video of yours I've watched and I'm blown away at your voice acting. You have either been a DM in D&D since you could speak or you're just naturally talented. I would leap to buy a fantasy novel narrated by you. Keep it up dude!
Yes! I guessed Oni and Striga! The girl that becomes the striga is 14, thus that description. Excellent work on the Oni, I wish the description had included "wields an iron mace" so you had drawn your version of a kanabo
Loved all designs, but I laughed my arse off at the little girly skirt from the Striga. I cannot help but picture big whitey granny underoos too, in a cartoon fashion , haha
The first part was so great but I have to admit I had some different ideas regarding the design of Cthulhu, could it be a biased vision... maybe😂😂but regardless it was an incredible video. I can't wait to see how these designs turn out😱😱
I guess something like: A famished humanoid Rotting So skinny that the skull is visible Very long limbs ended in bloodied claws Optional: The head of a deer At least thats how I remember the description, the deer head not being optional tho
It would be cool to describe the aliens from Ben 10 and see what Jazza interprets them as, also the monsters from goosebumps would be a nice addition to the challenge. But wow, lovely drawings this time around too, I feel like you were more confused about them in this video compared to the previous video, it was hilarious seeing you try to piece together the last monster!

honestly it's really visible jazza likes this series lol. like, the drawings are automatically so much better and there's so much thought put into the design. i mean, not like jazza's art isn't always amazing but it's just always so much better when you like what you draw. all the cryptids were a really good idea to add, there's so many of them and you can easily find the ones which are not as popular but you recognize them when you hear the name.
I think a "Griever" from the Maze Runner novel would be a challenge! Definitely one of the oddest monster descriptions I have come across.

True, the movie versions were definitely more spider like, whereas they were more described as slugs or something.
Gotta give props to that medieval lad for being more confused than terrified.

Yes!!! This idea right here.
When It said split forehead I hoped he would just put a crack in the middle or smt
Imagine if that was the design that we have gotten for Pennywise for either the original 90s mini-series or the 2016/19 two-part movies.
How about "Pickman's Model' from HP Lovecraft?

Bro, your Pennywise is so much closer to how I have imagined it when I have read the book the first time in 1986. I always thought that both Curry and Skarsgard did not look like it at all. My imagination created a kind of partly decayed creature hiding these gross parts under make-up (which wasn't make-up after all). And it had an unnatural wide grin. A lot too wide. Congrats. Your sketch was amazingly close to how I would described the fucker.
Yes, and it’s a whole lot scarier looking than Tim or Bill’s.
The biggest thing to that I like? It's teeth and maw... ALMOST evoke a Spider's mandibles a bit!

Rechts, oder linksläufig?
According to Google a Wolpertinger can also look like a squirrel with a duck beak 😂
that would be so funnyyy
Fun fact, the folklore is most likely based on rabbits which were infected with a disease that caused unusual growths to happen (SPV), they can look similar to antlers, fangs or beaks, specially in not ideal lighting, other folklore creatures most likely inspired by it were jackalopes
@game boy I always thought wolpertingers and jackalopes were the same, just that wolpertinger is german, and jackalope english
Imagine him doing the Lovecraft cosmic horror eldritch gods / monsters. Yog-Sothoth, Azathoth, Shub-Niggurath, Nyarlathotep, Sho-Gath, The Yellow King, Deep Ones, and so on. I would really like to see more stuff from the lovecraft mythos as well. Elder things or yithians might as well be cool as they are so weird. I might also be interesting to try to work based on the feeling of the story instead of just the concrete description. Which I guess is most you get with most of the outer gods. I wonder what would happen if you just gave for example this as description and told it was an outer god and saw where it goes:
"Yog-Sothoth knows the gate.

I'd love to see Jazza trying to draw a few folklore/mythology creatures from here like Iara, Boto cor de rosa, Curupira, Saci Perere, Boi bumbá, Mula sem cabeça..
when I saw the description of backwards feet for the 2nd one, I thought it was gonna be Curupira
I only know what a Boto is because I read the WebToon adaptation of the "Not Even Bones" trilogy. The first book has a Boto cor de rosa character in it, who is friends/allies with the main character. I haven't read the books at all, just the WebToon. I like her (the Boto), but her backstory like everyone else's in the series, is very tragic and gruesome.
my thoughts exactly
I was thinking the same thing, cause the backwards feet and red hair gave me Curupira vibes (oh, my mistake, it was long dark hair and red eyes, I combined into one thing LOL)
I'm going to have to look some of these up cuz I've never heard of them I don't think. And the only creature I've ever known with backwards feet they look like a buggy or wolf type thing was in a game I played on steam and it's called wildflowers there was some mythical fake creature they look just like that I couldn't get past his feet being backwards It really tripped me out 🤣

I'm a drawer too.
But anyone can achieve that level, it's only a question of time and will ^^
It is nothing like a superpower.

I'll never get tired of watching the creative process you do before comitting to the final illustration

Wow, your pennywise is out of this world. Best pennywise art I've ever seen. I'd love to see your interpretation of Bagul from Sinister!
I personally found the movie pennywise to be a bit to bright. Too clean. ..this one is the old school horror I imagine Stephen king looking at

@Miguel Silva If I recall, it’s a display of might as one should be to kill such a fearsome beast. (Just so we’re clear : I said fan, not expert.)
funny enough I only guessed Striga because of the 14 year old girl description. Its the only where it would somewhat relevant
@@michaelrondon5472 I didn't emerged (yet?) in the Witcher lore, so I'm gonna ask : Really ? So, all Striga are always created from 14 years old girls ?
@@Kaito57 No, this specific one was a 14 year old girl. she transformed earlier.
@@RainerLP I see lol
It would be cool to see how Jazza is able to draw elements from the Stormlight Archives and how they compare to Shallan's illustrations in the books!
I'd watch a 150 part playlist of just this. Love this format
In Scottish folklore there is a creature called "Redcap" it is depicted as:
"a short, thickset old elf with long prominent teeth, skinny fingers armed with talons like eagles, large eyes of a fiery red colour, grisly hair streaming down his shoulders, and a red blood drenched cap on its head".
The way he effortlessly draws good anatomy. Like how?! 😭
I know actually depressing
I guess lots of practice.
Anatomy can be a little difficult to learn but once you know it it's pretty easy to remember
Jazzy is the kind of guy that can make anything into art. I could give the worst description of something and he would still make it
look amazing.
Grendel would be dope!
Even if you don’t exactly get the sketches right on the mark with what they’re actually supposed to look like, they’re still amazing
Tash is a great suggestion. Very vivid description in the book to work from as well!
I always love seeing people's depictions of Elder Things -- they're a hard one to visualize.
Also Lovecraftian: the original Thing from "Who Goes There?" -- in the story, it has a base shape that doesn't match either the "Thing From Another World" or John Carpenter's "The Thing":
- Rubbery blue skin
- Three red eyes
- Worm-like tendrils that grow like hair
- Four tentacle-like arms with seven tentacle-fingers on the end
- Thin lips and snake-like fangs
That's true! (But I liked the illustrations in the original books.)
I can't wait to see how these designs turn out😱😱
I don't know this in any books or movies but it would be really interesting to see him try to draw a Wendigo
That’s what I thought the third one was. Would definitely love to see it being purposely drawn.
Supernatural and Until Dawn both have depictions they can show from!
I guess something like:
A famished humanoid
Rotting
So skinny that the skull is visible
Very long limbs ended in bloodied claws
Optional: The head of a deer
At least thats how I remember the description, the deer head not being optional tho
@@Swaiznhe Yeah the deer head description wasn't added until the 21st century movies.
I actually thought the hairy one was supposed to be a Wendigo.
