You're both incorrect. Though Leonard initially liked Penny for her looks (when he first saw her and didn't know her) and despite the fact that we all know Penny can be just as shallow they definitely have deeper feelings for each other. Penny didn't break up with Leonard due to his intelligence she broke up with him because he started TREATING her like she wasn't as smart. Lastly, in this instance she wasn't using crying as a trick, She was already upset and then suddenly got yelled at.

she didn't break up with him because he's more intelligent than she is. when they were together she was insecure about him being more intelligent than her and sought advice from sheldon. sheldon couldn't keep a secret from leonard because he can't keep a secret from anyone so he told leonard about it. instead of being intelligent and rational about it he tried convincing her to re-attend college to feel smarter. so she broke up with him over him trying to force something on her.
That makes no sense, she felt insecure- Leonard was bringing up an option to help her and gives them something else to bond over, and that’s a problem??????

No, actually. They broke after Leonard told her he loves her and she wasn't ready to say it back. Then Wil Wheaton got in her head by saying it's awful to be strung along like that, waiting for a partner to reciprocate. She broke up with him to spare Leonard of that.

Never quite understood how someone like Penny, a struggling waitress at the Cheesecake Factory, always seems to have enough disposable income for alcohol.
My stepdad used to be broke but still have alcohol they usually just take money away from other things and put it to alcohol like food the cut off food for alcohol or whatever they have left over usually put into alcohol sometimes alcohol isn’t even that expensive so they just buy the cheap stuff when they don’t have enough for the good stuff

Anyone else think that maybe Penny should have considered how she were making Leonard feel with how she was flocking to the new physicist and going on about how great he was when Leonard was similar to Dave? Dave and Leonard were similar both are physicist working at Caltech, but Penny prefers Dave over the fact he's hotter, taller, stronger, and rides a motorcycle. In addition, Leonard did offer Penny around the Lab but prefers Dave showing around. Overall, Penny was at fault that she made Leonard jealous. Plus she was gullible in dating him until she released that Dave was in fact married.
